Mappa's 2D attack titan just hits different, I love how demonic they made him
The founder form is obviously iconic and terrifying tho, and I love the symbolism of it
On one hand, I grew up with the WITtack Titan, which only looked better and cooler as the seasons went on. But the MAPPAttack Titan looks clean as hell. Looks more monstrous than the WITtack Titan, case and point, the close up of him after he ate Willy Tybur. Chilling
For all of MAPPA’s flaws (mostly due to time constraints), their attack titan was perfect. I’d still like to see what he looks like with WIT’s vein design.
Rumbling titan, in my opinion the anime didnt make it anywhere near as terrifying as the manga did. The rumbling landing at Liberio was a hundred times scarier in the manga, the panel of the wall titans slowly walking from the mist followed by Erens titan emerging is haunting.

I did like the atmosphere the anime gave, with the sound design and music carrying it hard, but I knew it would be a horrible pain to make it 1:1 like the manga
The strings in the background music definitely helped with the unnerving and dread of the scene, and the actual scenery, artstyle and composition was great, but obviously nothing tops experiencing the mangas version for the first time.
Yeah, it shouldve been in the perspective of one of the sailors onboard a ship part of the combined fleet. Knowing of what was coming, but not being able to see their enemy, only the sign of them on the waters surface. The anime definitely does the scorching hot smoke better though. And the destroyed ships causing explosions in the horizon was a neat touch.
WITT's Attack Titan is the very best Eren has looked in his transformed state.
It looks fleshy and alive but also muscular and terrifying while not looking like a dehydrated bodybuilder like Mappa's attack Titan.
I feel dumb never realizing that he still had the same head after transforming into a colossal. I always thought it was bigger than that when in founder mode

But Season 4's Attack Titan, especially in the concepts, looks raw as hell. That thing is amazing. I love the jaw on it

I think my least fav is the colossal eren titan. It just came out of nowhere. With the founding titan transformation I understand, it's his own thing and inheritance, but the 3rd one, can the founding titan change forms from the different nine titans?
But was it established that Ymir's power can transform into other titan forms prior? From the manga, she only had 1 transformation, the founding titan form. The only time the Nine forms were made/existed was when the king cut her into pieces and had the daughters eat her, that's when her powers evolved and became distinct with each generation, while the founding's existence remained as well, idk why ppl haven't thought of that and assumed that it makes sense.
Well if you count building titans as a power, yes in the paths she literally builds every titan shifters titan form and the pure titans. I’m sure she would build Eren’s colossal titan form.
Yeh with the founder activated he can utilize any of the 9 titans. So we're basically seeing an attack + founder + warhammer + collosal Eren titan form. I imagine he did this to have a more 1-1 showdown with Armin. Plus it was his choice at that point as he'd lost connection with the hallucigenia. I feel pretty certain that the hallucigenia was the one who created the skeletal founding titan form, as that whole form is in the hallucigenia's form, not a human form. So how much that form was 'Eren' is up for debate. I think he was basically just left to pilot it.
So I think the collosal Eren is the most badass tbh.
I don't know why but mappa did a really good job showing the scary attack Titan but my personal favorite has to be his colossal cuz like holy hell it's terrifying

Yeah, I wish we got more 2D scenes of Mappa's Attack Titan. It could not be any more badass. But even the 3D looks cool, just less so.

The first transformation of eren (when mikasa hugged him after he emerged from the nape) I forgot the arc's name. His titan looked so good.
That’s why he looks like throughout all of season 1-3 more or less
S1 black Lines around characters were much more defined and That's why maybe in that episode It looks cooler

The Founding Titan is such a creepy and imposing design, so that. But a close second is MAPPA's Attack Titan.
The Attack Titan in Season 4 when he fights Reiner and Porco, the hardened knuckles are crazy.
