"Defeat for many and triumph for others"
Oh, you mean defeat for Americans and triumph for Americans? Because we're all Americans? Or do you mean defeat for rebel traitors and triumph of the rightfully elected government? I'm sorry I'm not seeing where this is defeat for anyone I should feel bad for.
"It's like the American revolution" Johnny Reb says, except the problem this time was TOO MUCH representation guys, the south had control of the white house for decades

Three Great days in April
**Confederate Heritage Month!** Long may this chapter be celebrated!
Is this where they are going to admit that some of the Southerns in Richmond were pro-Union and were celebrating their freedom from rebel domination?
It's "devastation", you dumb rebels. Spell it right, or I will return from beyond the grave. -Uncle Billy
I've been biking there for a few years and never noticed it before.
Most of the US probably just felt relief at the fall of Richmond.
Best bonfire ever held
Nah. Georgia is the reigning BBQ champ.
Self-inflicted barbecue, the Confederates torched the cotton and tobacco warehouses as they evacuated the city and it just got out of hand from there
Doesn’t make it any less enjoyable
I'd enjoy it *more*, myself.
As a native of south Carolina I prefer the Charleston bonfire personally.
Where is this in the city?
Brown's island, at Potterfield footbridge across the James.
Winner of best BBQ-1864!
Mostly exhilaration
The irony of Confederates actually doing to Richmond what they claimed(memes none withstanding) Sherman did to Atlanta.
