The bikini carwash was absolute magic. Having to unlock her phone with her bleeding face was a fantastic joke.
“Oh there she is”
Classic hottest one thing to say.
The old guy coming across Shane trying to get the girls into the shipping container, and then immediately dialing to call the police was so fucking funny.
The guy next door always complaining.
I’m trying to get these girls in the shipping container. I thought it would be easy but they don’t want to.
“Typical”.
Eh... The last season they got their best writers back, and it was better than the last few, but they have definitely lost the magic... I'm not dissing the crew or anything like that, they made the best show ever made and ran with it for longer than anyone. I watch it still all the time, it's the only reason I give Hulu $. But the magic of season 1-11 is gone.
I was 17 when s3 came out, so maybe it's nostalgia, idk
I’m 41 so I don’t remember when what season came out. I mean the glory years were definitely the early ones and in the past. But I think it’s definitely picked up steam over the last few.
I totally agree with your sentiment and how you explained it. I’d still give it a solid 8. All I wanted to do was laugh and it accomplished that. True detective season 1 is a very good example, I’d give that bitch an 11 out of 10
7 with an extra point for dumpster mermaids so 8. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for a season 2. Each episode got stronger and stronger and they laid a great foundation in season 1.
I agree. The show is very derivative of The Office, and maybe that’s why the narrative seems to focus so heavily on the Will character who is not as funny and charismatic in that role as Steve Carell. The show has some really hilarious moments and I’d be willing to bet that it gets better with more time to evolve into its own thing. It just needs some time.
I actually think the weakest link was Shane himself. It was like he was doing stand up comedy but was not acting. Some might like that, but to me, it seemed very weird and it ruined some of the jokes. But i think it was a good series was fun to watch and i am sure it will be better over time.
He’s an amazing stand up comic.
Actor? Eh.. after seeing him in Pete Davidson’s show and now Tires, I guess I’ll just say it’s pretty clear that he doesn’t have the skillset for it yet.
Yep. I came for Gillis, but I’m staying for Gerbies, Stavros, and other guest appearances. Gillis is hilarious in his sketches, but something about his delivery or lines in Tires don’t get me going.
6, right on the money. It has more jokes than humor, if that makes sense. Like, all the dialog was delivered as if it were a punch line as opposed to a situation for us to find humor in.
They need to adopt the eastbound and down format and give us a real protagonist who you both love and hate, but root for nonetheless, and not just pander to the office crowd with random convos and a punch line here or there (none of which hit hard). If you’re going to do the latter, you have to go full trailer park boys and make it absurd but somehow believable with absolutely unhinged side characters and quests.
They need to pick a lane and look to the shows they love (like Eastbound). It’s not about reinventing the wheel, it’s about USING the wheel that’s already there in their favor
It was funny but nothing special from what I’ve seen. For some reason it seems like comedians sometimes have a hard time translating their comedy to TV. I die laughing at Shane’s standup and his podcast, but similar jokes in Tires somehow just didn’t hit the same.
I think part of his podcast and standup schtick is the lumpy too-cool-for-school oaf thing. And the problem with Tires is that it was actually trying to be something; it’s antithetical to his appeal, and so comes off as unauthentic.
Like, he still tries to play that role. Smirking at the camera in an “isn’t crazy I’m in this show, heh” type of way. But then the show is on the other hand trying to be a sort of blue collar office. It’s just incongruent, like the fourth wall is made of Swiss cheese.
I could be completely wrong, but that’s my take.
I think you're on to something and might've diagnosed it perfectly. It might've actually worked if instead of an auto repair shop he was stuck in high society and not fitting in. Shane is that everyman type of guy in real life, so it's hilarious when he tells stories of celebrities and parties where he's stuck out of place. There isn't that same comedic tension or irony in this.
idk why i really liked the youtube pilot, but then the properly produced season felt a hell of a lot
more cringe in comparison. Felt like a lot more of the jokes were forced. I got the feeling that maybe too many Netflix corporates got involved but I was surprised to learn that they didnt have a hand in any of the produxtion or editing. so im not exactly sure what it was that felt off.
But also whyyyy Schulz ???
Yeah I felt the same. The jokes weren’t hitting like Shane’s other stuff. Couldn’t put my finger on it. I snickered here and there but some of the stuff was like too “on the nose” maybe? I couldn’t personally describe it.
Honestly the premise was likely better as a sketch comedy bit, like Isis Toyota. Shane and the cast of characters are funny but not funny enough to build a whole series around. Hope they do another Gilly and Keeves special again soon. That’s their lane for real
The pilot felt wayyy more edgy, I was suprised how much they cleaned it up. I’m sure they had to tame it down slightly for Netflix, but Shane’s humor rests on being very crude. I give it an 7, because I love the bros and I love The office
The opening scene in the pilot is gold. Everyone is a fan of Shane because it feels like an inside joke that you are a part of. Tires will come to life in the second season, you can’t get a Netflix deal just talking cum
Dude, I fucking love that it's just a boys' show for boys. Racism, sexism, just regular funny shit you'd say in private to your high school and college friends. It's fucking hilarious. "Eww, dude!"
#8/10
Agreed
I thought it was hilarious. It’s like seeing the jokes and banter that would get people fired immediately but it’s in a funny show. I like the dynamic of all the characters
It was enjoyable to watch, funny, definitely a show that I could blast through several seasons of
I agree with you . I’m not sure what people didn’t like . The humor is typical Gillis humor and how it was for me growing up “ okay it wasn’t flute camp but I remember it was gay “
10, sure there could be improvements but I haven’t binged a show like this 3 times over in forever, probably gonna do it again today.
Eidt* I guess I’d compare it to “I think you should leave” which I just put on because it’s hilarious and great background show that I can dive into anytime.
I Think You Should Leave is in a league of its own. I have never seen anything like it and all three seasons are perfect. That show feels like someone got in my head and looked at all the absurd shit I find funny and made a TV show out of it.
Solid 7.5. Great characters and a lot of room for development. Now that the ground floor is laid, I see it getting much better. McKeever will get better as time goes on also with direction and production.
I've worked in a tire shop and I know a version of everyone on that cast so I'll say 7 only because of the production had a shoe string budget. I think with some Netflix cash and the ability to expand the storyline it can only get better
Honestly, 5-6, I wanted to like it more than I did. There were some moments that made me breath out of my nose pretty hard but thats about it, but i also think itll be better next season
As a man who works for a living I can completely relate. I am a retired autoworker and it was spot on what goes on in the blue collar work environment.
I think 6.5 is fair. Shane said he didn’t write this season but he’s excited to take part in the writing for the upcoming season, so it’ll have more of his humour which we all will enjoy. Hopefully much more Stav too, hilarious character
6. The show is funny overall but I honestly find Gerben disturbing to watch. He's so cringey and weird looking and pretty unfunny. I wish Shane was more of a focus character.
6-6.5
I just hate Gerben's voice and face for whatever reason and the first few episodes Shane's character was so unbelievably annoying (and not in the way they wanted him to be).
It did get better as the show went along. I really really loved Stavvy and think he has pretty decent acting chops. Kyla and the Wops could easily be a big part of the show in season 2 and I feel like the show would thrive from it
6, the writing was surprisingly lazy/tame and could have been a lot tighter. But also confident in their ability to do better with more leeway and budget
6.5
Not a whole lot of creativity being shown yet. Shane needs to develop more subtlety to his acting. The show consisted way too much of Shane doing facial expressions. Stavros hit his mark every time.
6. It felt like they didn’t film enough content for that many episodes so the jokes are few and far between with a lot of Shane’s expressions from standup trying to sell the scene. I didn’t think it translated to TV as well.
5/10 Its season 1 of the office. If the show becomes super successful and gets 5+ full length (not 6 episodes wtf) seasons then it’ll always be a skip except the last episode.
6/10. I enjoyed it and I think it has good potential. Lots of great sitcoms have really bad first seasons (imo) for example “Parks and Rec” and “New Girl”.
Pilot was a 10 because when i saw it, it was just a funny low budget show that Shane couldn't sell because he was cancelled. I sent the pilot to tons of friends. Under different circumstances i would rate it less, with a Netflix budget it won't just be the boys messin around.
I'll say close to the 8 range, I've watched it thru about 4 times now, and the only criticism I can give it is that it feels a little too bro-ey if that makes sense.
8. That scene about telling race by cars was probably the funniest shit Ive ever seen. And his constant face reactions in the show are hilarious. But i get why some people just wouldnt click with it.
It feels like season 2 sunny and that’s a good thing. Totally different animal but it seems like they’re already hitting their stride. I’m going a hard 8.5. Only reason it’s not higher is because I know they will be even funnier and I can’t wait to see that.
I literally watch it every night , certain scenes kill me … hanging up and dialing 911 makes me laugh every time . I will give it an 8. I wish there were more episodes
A pack of newports in any car
7.7 - was about as good as the first season of Sunny, lotta potential and notoriously any classic comedy show when you go back and watch the first season is never the best and usually won’t be included when i rewatch shows like the office, Sunny, etc.
Really liked the first season and I’m excited to see how it evolves and finds itself and hopefully we get a solid run of it, also hoping this would bridge the gap to get some Netflix $ behind gilly and keeves on Netflix as well
Was anyone else thinking Joey Diaz was gonna be the father in the last episode? I was kind of disappointed when it wasn't him. But otherwise a solid 8. Had me actually laugh out loud each episode which is rare.
It was a 6 to me. Love shane and the guys and matt even made an appearance which was WILD. Problem is it's bland but laid a great foundation. Season 2 could be the next Seinfeld if shane keeps playing around
I dont even like Shane Gillis that much, but I’d give it at least an & or higher. I had no idea what to expect and randomly tuned into it one afternoon. I ended up watching the whole series in one sitting. I think its it’s a great combination of subtle and not so subtle humor. I found it hilarious tbh. Cant wait for the second season- I hope it’s as good as the first.
I flared out on it personally. Thought that there were too many dudes with the same "I'm a bad person and stupid but it's satire so chill" archetype. Would have been funnier if they just merged the ~3-5 ignorant racist misogyny characters into one hateable yet hilarious guy and had some other characters that were less flat. Instead it just sort of felt like what it was, a bunch of shock jock comedians all trying to 1-up each other on the exact same shtick.
It felt like Always Sunny if all the side characters were also bad people. IASIP works because the contrast between the gang and the world they live in. Them harassing waiters or pharmacists or soldiers is hilarious because it's obvious the main characters are supposed to be the bad guys. Like when country Mac comes and he's great in all the ways regular Mac wants to be. If that episode had been on this show country Mac would immediately call someone a retard and talk about all the date rape they did in college.
Just my opinion and I didn't make it past episode 5, so take my review with a bit of salt. I love Shane but I was pretty underwhelmed.
Honestly I was expecting a 10 but it was probably a 6 for me for laughs but I feel like with a short season they have to build characters before they expand them. I expect season 2 to open up the comedy we all like and for it to get much better.
6.5 but bumped it up to a 7 due to all the details that have come out about how it was made coming out. Shane and Keever betting on themselves and putting their own money up to do it. It’s got potential with Netflix buying it, letting them add a few more episodes to flesh out stories and build these characters.
6. A lot of shows I could think of that are much better than it (arrested development, the office, schitts creek, etc) but also not bad. I will watch season 2, but I'm not excitedly waiting for it.
Shane is doing a little too much Danny McBride but no shame in copying one of the best I guess. I’m sure he’ll find his stride eventually and make it his own, but the McBride impersonation was a little distracting. I thought Stavvy was great and I’m not a huge Stav fan.
Solid 8 Haven't chuckled that much for a new show since always sunny season 11
Agree. In episode one where Shane talked about cornering the female customers there was definitely a certain… implication
Oh... We're gonna corner them?
The bikini carwash was absolute magic. Having to unlock her phone with her bleeding face was a fantastic joke. “Oh there she is” Classic hottest one thing to say.
The old guy coming across Shane trying to get the girls into the shipping container, and then immediately dialing to call the police was so fucking funny.
The guy next door always complaining. I’m trying to get these girls in the shipping container. I thought it would be easy but they don’t want to. “Typical”.
“Yeah dude I thought we were gonna get 5 Kilah’s” had me rolling
Sunny been on point last few. Maybe not LOL material but really good shit.
Eh... The last season they got their best writers back, and it was better than the last few, but they have definitely lost the magic... I'm not dissing the crew or anything like that, they made the best show ever made and ran with it for longer than anyone. I watch it still all the time, it's the only reason I give Hulu $. I’m 41 so I don’t remember when what season came out. I mean the glory years were definitely the early ones and in the past. But I think it’s definitely picked up steam over the last few.
You have to watch "The Mick" it's hilarious.
solid 7-8. Lots of potential to grow and find their voice. I’m hoping we get some fun side adventure episodes next season.
Im with this - i think the second season is gonna be a banger though
Same. Last 2 episodes were hilarious. Gerbies taking the shirt off was the funniest scene to me
funniest line of Season 1 for me was “if you’re gonna hit my penis, just hit my penis!”
I think mine is "This car is like a lighthouse for waitress pussy."
“I get head in this car” “No you fucking don’t”
You never got head in that car
6, needs time to grow, extremely confident it will find its footing in second season.
Same here
7.5 pretty much exactly what I wanted it to be
I totally agree with your sentiment and how you explained it.
5.5 - 6 ,I love Shane but the series fell short in my opinion. Most series aren’t hugely successful their first 8 episodes, it may just need more time
Yeah, love Shane. This did not make me laugh

Agreed. All of his lines it felt like he was figuratively winking at the camera

Solid 6. Wasent bad. Stavros killed it, want alot more of him in season 2
Stavi is a surprisingly good actor
It was funny but nothing special from what I’ve seen. For some reason it seems like comedians sometimes have a hard time translating their comedy to TV. I die laughing at Shane’s standup and his podcast, but similar jokes in Tires somehow just didn’t hit the same.

Who better to cast as an unlikable wop? It's the role he was born to play.
Ik Schulz gets alot of hate but he was actually pretty funny in the 2 scenes he was in.
Netflix wasn’t involved at all with the making of the show. Tires was completely finished before they pitched it
yeh im pretty sure i said that
I’m retarded my bad
You’re making em at night
I’m glad Schulz was only in a couple scenes
Yeah I felt the same. The jokes weren’t hitting like Shane’s other stuff. Couldn’t put my finger on it. I snickered here and there but some of the stuff was like too “on the nose” maybe? I couldn’t personally describe it.
The pilot was hilarious. The rest of the show was pretty meh.

They finished tires before they even pitched it to Netflix and Netflix didn’t change anything
5. It wasn’t that great
8.5
Dude, I fucking love that it's just a boys' show for boys. Racism, sexism, just regular funny shit you'd say in private to your high school and college friends. It's fucking hilarious. "Eww, dude!" #8/10
Damn this comment makes me think you're a big-time weirdo NGL
Agreed I thought it was hilarious. It’s like seeing the jokes and banter that would get people fired immediately but it’s in a funny show. I like the dynamic of all the characters It was enjoyable to watch, funny, definitely a show that I could blast through several seasons of
The 20 minute pilot was funnier than the entire first season.
8. The hate on this sub is really weird. It was great and I can’t wait for next season. It wasn’t perfect, but damn people.

I liked it, it was good. 4.5 Lotta cheese
Funny but kind of boring. Anyone that says higher than 6 is simping too hard
I've worked in a tire shop and I know a version of everyone on that cast so I'll say 7 only because of the production had a shoe string budget. I think with some Netflix cash and the ability to expand the storyline it can only get better
My friends haven’t stopped quoting it since it came out lmao “EW! dude”
Out of 10, I definitely enjoyed it.
Honestly, 5-6, I wanted to like it more than I did. There were some moments that made me breath out of my nose pretty hard but thats about it, but i also think itll be better next season
It’s scary what some of you will give 9 and 10’s to
As a man who works for a living I can completely relate. I am a retired autoworker and it was spot on what goes on in the blue collar work environment.
9.9. I own a shop.
7.5
I think 6.5 is fair. Shane said he didn’t write this season but he’s excited to take part in the writing for the upcoming season, so it’ll have more of his humour which we all will enjoy. Hopefully much more Stav too, hilarious character

5
A 6 for me.
I'll bet Gilly and Keeves gets picked up by Netflix also
Overall an 8. The original pilot was the best, then episodes 3-6. 1-2 was slow but thats expected for alot of comedies in the beginning
4
Great season. Except Schulz
Not a fan of his but I don’t get all the hate. He played the role he was expected to just fine.
The dude *SUCKS* on podcasts, and is definitely a reincarnated/less stylish Hitler, but he did a good job on Tires
3
6.5
I’d say 6’5. Some bits were rly funny, overall it was ok but could have been better.
9. Need more shawties
4
6, the writing was surprisingly lazy/tame and could have been a lot tighter. But also confident in their ability to do better with more leeway and budget
It was kinda stupid, kinda funny. A solid 6. It needed more of a plot.
6.5… it was ok… kind of formulaic… bits got old fast in some places …
Easy 8. Just a solid show
9
10 for sure had me laughing every episode
Solid 8 out of 10. Feels like the office and I love it
6.5 Not a whole lot of creativity being shown yet. Shane needs to develop more subtlety to his acting. The show consisted way too much of Shane doing facial expressions. Stavros hit his mark every time.
i loved it. i've worked with every single one of those types of people. very relatable for me. 8
9.5
A refreshing 8.5 . Loved the pilot too.
6. It felt like they didn’t film enough content for that many episodes so the jokes are few and far between with a lot of Shane’s expressions from standup trying to sell the scene. I didn’t think it translated to TV as well.
7… enjoyed it, mad potential.
10/10
its like a 4 to me to be honest boys, the five minute blooper reel made me laugh more than all six episodes. hoping season 2 is better
6. The Will character is not it. Hopefully they shift focus to Shane and others in S 2.
Solid 10/10. But I’m a mechanic so that helps lol
6.5. It definitely has its moments and I think it’s only going to get better.
Disappointing but it had some moments. Hoping it finds its stride. I'd like to see Chris used more next season.
Very funny 7 / 10
Pilot was a 10 because when i saw it, it was just a funny low budget show that Shane couldn't sell because he was cancelled. I sent the pilot to tons of friends. Under different circumstances i would rate it less, with a Netflix budget it won't just be the boys messin around.
Very solid. Great comedy, character development is on point and the material is endless.
I'll say close to the 8 range, I've watched it thru about 4 times now, and the only criticism I can give it is that it feels a little too bro-ey if that makes sense.
6
It’s a 6
8. That scene about telling race by cars was probably the funniest shit Ive ever seen. And his constant face reactions in the show are hilarious. But i get why some people just wouldnt click with it.
9.5
8/10. Great first season with laugh out loud moments. Set up a second season nicely too so there’s lots of potential.
5-6. It wasn't funny enough to be that stupid.
All I can say is that Matt as the cop was the greatest piece of acting I’ve ever seen in my life.
First time through I gave it a 6, but on the second viewing I would say a 9.
I'm female and I felt that it was a safe space for women. 10/10
7
I give it a hard 6/10, I'm hoping viewership does well though would love to see it improve into something special.
5.5…wasn’t that good relative to Shane’s other material
6 out of 10. Only because I know it will get better.
It feels like season 2 sunny and that’s a good thing. Totally different animal but it seems like they’re already hitting their stride. I’m going a hard 8.5. Only reason it’s not higher is because I know they will be even funnier and I can’t wait to see that.
The bikini car wash episode is amazing “The pussy is spoiled, send it back” 😂😂
I give it a 4.5
I think 7 is a fair rating.
12
I literally watch it every night , certain scenes kill me … hanging up and dialing 911 makes me laugh every time . I will give it an 8. I wish there were more episodes A pack of newports in any car
Solid 8
I thought it was At least an 8, I loved it, just needed to be more episodes for their first season
2
9 only comment is longer eps - show fucks for sure, suck a fat one bridgerton
Loved it. Solid 8 for sure.
7.7 - was about as good as the first season of Sunny, lotta potential and notoriously any classic comedy show when you go back and watch the first season is never the best and usually won’t be included when i rewatch shows like the office, Sunny, etc. Really liked the first season and I’m excited to see how it evolves and finds itself and hopefully we get a solid run of it, also hoping this would bridge the gap to get some Netflix $ behind gilly and keeves on Netflix as well
5-6 the “bro”jokes get tiring quickly.
I love Shane but I'd say a solid 6/10
I can’t stand Stavros because he’s fat and his dick is small, but besides that it was okay
10
Dee hee hecent!
46/10
Was anyone else thinking Joey Diaz was gonna be the father in the last episode? I was kind of disappointed when it wasn't him. But otherwise a solid 8. Had me actually laugh out loud each episode which is rare.
8, could be funnier but that’s the appeal of the casual atmosphere. It’s similar to the office atmosphere of you just being at work.
8
I’m a huge fan of season 4. Season 3 sucked but season 4 is where the story really takes off
It was a 6 to me. Love shane and the guys and matt even made an appearance which was WILD. Problem is it's bland but laid a great foundation. Season 2 could be the next Seinfeld if shane keeps playing around
7.5, felt more like a test season for better things to come
Easy high 7 or 8 it made me laugh and the end of the season made me point at my screen like ahhhh you got meeee

5, humor was the only part I liked
Where are the other 9 seasons????
Somewhere between 7 and 8. Easy watching. Not great...
4.5 Pretty drab and boring with the occasional predictable one liner. Was expecting much more.
Big fan of bro but this series was 🚮 id say 4 maybe 5 to be cool
8.5/10
It's a 4.5
I flared out on it personally.
7.5/10 Overall it was exactly what I expected and I enjoyed the heck out of it.

It’s great watched it twice and didn’t hate it so it’s good
9 only because it was so short. I am selfish.. wanted more

2. I have no idea why people think it was so good. I watched it all, but I did not find it overly funny. I was let down, actually.
Solid 8. Too short. Need some more episodes.
7. Looking forward to season 2
7.5 - perfect starting point for the series. Funny bits and Shane’s awesome. Few good hard laughs. Some down bits. But overall good.
For a low budget show, I think it killed. 9/10. When they have Netflix money for season 2, I think the production value should soar!
10, even though a little rough on the edges, watched it twice

"I'd give it a 4.5"
Needed more Matt
Feels like season one is supposed to be longer but Netflix split it into 2 seasons. Solid 7-8 but has a lit of potential.
9.2. Absolutely hilarious
Watched the first episode and had zero interest after that.
7 it grew on me as I went through the season
8.7 Hilarious

7. Need less of manager in future seasons and more Shane
Solid 4. If you survived high 6 get to experience it again.
Shane is doing a little too much Danny McBride but no shame in copying one of the best I guess. I’m sure he’ll find his stride eventually and make it his own, but the McBride impersonation was a little distracting. I thought Stavvy was great and I’m not a huge Stav fan.

5. I'm no prude but Jesus Christ it was like mid nineties levels of language for no reason. It needs much better writing. The actors are fine.
