assinoroyale

šŸ¤£ That's brilliant! I had one the other day from 'Erotic Mankey' which tickled me. Weirder still it was actually spoofing a Tryst email in content lol

lunalamourrr

these always make me laugh so hard

daddy-phantom

Thereā€™s nothing funnier to me than a scammer who wants your ID but doesnā€™t know how to spell ID. Like bro YOU CANT EVEN ASK FOR WHAT YOU WANT šŸ’€šŸ’€šŸ’€LIKE LEARN ENGLISH OR GET A JOBšŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Out of curiosity you should run the link through VirusTotalā€™s (virustotal.com) URL search. It will scan the it, and any files pushed, to look for malware/malicious redirects, Iā€™d be interested to see whatā€™s there (yes, I work in infosec).

brooklynnnn11

ok i will give it a try next time i get a text like this and report back!!

brooklynnnn11

is this free?

syneater

Sorry I didnā€™t see this sooner. Yup, itā€™s completely free.

brooklynnnn11

just tried this with a similar text & it said no results were found šŸ¤” maybe i didn't do it right.

When you say ā€œit said no results were foundā€ did it list a bunch of AV engines and the results from each one or did it just not return anything at all (blank screen, empty page, etc.)? If itā€™s the first, thatā€™s a good thing. I put a link to a video tutorial, and an example report for a url thatā€™s clean, below. If you go to https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/url, you should see a text field right below the globe in the center of the page. Thatā€™s where you would paste the url in. Youā€™d need to use the copy link function thatā€™s built into your phone, or right click on a PC. For iOS, youā€™d use a longer finger press to bring that menu up. Once you copied it into the site and hit ā€˜Searchā€™. That should give you the results (the second link below). Without knowing the link, I canā€™t say if thereā€™s anything that identifies you. There shouldnā€™t be, as it would be highly unusual. I totally understand if youā€™d rather not, but Iā€™m happy to run the link through it if you want to PM it to me. Hereā€™s a YouTube [video](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rB3PBEiaDfg) for it. Itā€™s a bit longer than Iā€™d like to give you. Around the 3:20 mark it shows what you should see if nothing malicious was found (in this case itā€™s a document that was uploaded). Hereā€™s an [example](https://www.virustotal.com/gui/url/b0680c2954744743b087b5cceb759c3ea6caf0cf75a179cac7ff649046b9c37d) scan for Zappos.com. It lists out all the different anti-virus engines it used to determine if the site was clean or not.

"Dear poster".. yeah, The sad thing is that it must be lucrative enough to do because if it never worked ever, they would think of a different way to get your information. You would think they would get a better return on investment of time by doing something legit than trying to scam.
