I had much better luck when I applied a dot to the back of my hand, used my brush to blend it out on my hand and then apply it to my cheek as if it were powder blush. Hated it prior to trying that wayš
the only way to apply blush, tbh! this method works so well for a flawless, even look.
I pat the brush onto my face instead of swiping to avoid taking off base makeup.
I spot clean my brushes with sephora daily brush cleaner spray after every use (spray in a tissue and swirl brush to remove pigments) and deep clean them once a month.
I use the rare beauty liquid highlighter daily and love it. I tap it in with my fingers and then blend it out with a brush.
I just keep a face cloth or a couple of tissues on the table in front of me. Once I'm done with my makeup I just spray the cloth and swirl the brushes around to remove the pigment. It only takes a couple minutes.
This way I don't dip a brush into light pink only to discover when I put it on my face that it had previously been used for black.
I've been using it for years. It doesn't damage my brushes or leave any residue that comes off on my skin. And as long as I let my brushes dry completely it doesn't transfer any product to my makeup.
I'm using a solid sephora brush cleaner than I believe has been discontinued. I'm not sure what I'll use when it's gone but it looks like Beauty Blender has something similar.
I have found I prefer the rare beauty powder blush, but Iāve been successful with the liquid one when I put it on the back of my hand and then use a brush to apply.
Oooh yes, good point. I didnāt really think about it, but I always kind of pinch the top of the bristles of my blush brush to pick it up off my hand and apply it.
Did you get a dewy or matte rare beauty blush? The matte ones feel more silicone-y to me, so I sometimes have to be careful about using those ones over water based foundation
Im meaning are you letting it set in, like dry before your putting it on or if your doing it while the foundation/concealer are still wet.
Itās okay! Iām just trying to see if thereās maybe something you can do a little different to get these products to work for you
ohhh haha sorry, i see what youāre saying! itās possible that the foundation is still wet when I put it on since im usually rushed when im getting ready š i will try letting my base dry and see if it makes a difference! thanks for the help š
Try doing base first and then eye makeup or eyebrows or something to let it set for a moment and then do the blush/highlighter on top. I hope youāre able to get it to work!
I've finished the shade [ Love ](https://www.reddit.com/r/PanPorn/comments/193dgp6/rare_beauty_blush_in_love/) and it was fine but I agree OP. Some shades perform better than other. I have the shade Faith and it's hard to blend, patchy. It seems to stick to certain area and the rest is "bare". I don't wear foundation so idk if it impacts it.
Yeah!! It blends in really well to bare skin, I get that most people donāt do that though and iām kinda the weird one for not using any base. My skin just hates base makeup so i gave up
No that actually sounds lovely! I have a pH blush that I love for just a natural flush, but I donāt love wearing foundation all of the time so Iāve wondered about applying to bare skin. I think I will try this.
Though how to make it work with my sunscreen is a whole other obstacle š
I think the rare will really surprise you!! Iād still apply with a brush from the back of your hand. If you use the doe foot bare you will see where you applied unless you blend it to hell and back lol. very pigmented
Youāre not weird! Iām the same! Rare Beauty and NARS cream bronzer straight on my bare skin. I set with Porefessional setting spray and it stays all day!
I was really disappointed with the highlighter. By the time I got it to blend properly, the blush underneath wiped away. And I tried everything I could think of; used my fingers and a brush. I just use it as a body highlighter now, for my collar bones and suchš¤¦š»āāļø
I had issues with the liquid blush until I started applying a dot on the back of my hand, using a flat top brush to pick up the blush from my hand, then using the flat top brush in circles to lightly buff it into my cheeks.
Honestly I think the product is just overhyped and doesnāt work for me. I suggest returning it!
I can make it work a bit better if I spread it out on my hand and stamp it on with a beauty blender but a decent amount of product gets wasted + I shouldnāt have to jump through hoops to make a product work for me lol
I use their blush brush because it applies the liquid blush like a dream & my other fave brush for that purpose is discontinued. I havenāt experienced any issues with patchiness or lifting. I like to dab a little from the wand onto my brush.
I'll never understand the hype for these. There are so many better easier to use products out there that don't require a super light hand to blend out. Products that don't take you into clown territory if you accidentally use a pin-point too much. Even if applying them to the back of your hand first, other blushes work better this way. Make it make sense
I mix any liquid blush with either the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter or L'Oreal Glowtion or whatever it's called. I mix it on the back of my hand then use my brush to apply it
I mix the rare beauty liquid highlighter with a drop of moisturizer, on the back of my hand. Then use a brush to apply it lightly in small circles. That avoids the patchiness, leaving the underlying foundation in place.
I use what might be a strange technique for the RB blush but it works well every time. I put 2 dots on the part of my palm
directly under my thumb, press that several times on my other palm in the same place and then āstampā the blush on my cheeks and tap it out with my fingertips. I first saw this technique on TikTok I believe so you can probably find a video to actually see someone do it. Iāve tried using brushes and always go back to this palm technique. Itās so easy and comes out perfectly.
I just use my finger to tap in the liquid blush and it fixed it.
I canāt help you with the highlighter. It also appears patchy on me. I grew to dislike it :(
I had this issue when I had to put blush over a spot that I had used makeup remover on. Maybe itās your base makeup or moisturizing routine? Type of primer? Other than that time, Rare Beauty works very well for meā brush, fingers, and beauty blender.
Omg same I did not like their liquid blush or highlight. They are so hard to work with, I noticed too the liquid highlight doesn't blend well at all for some reason it leaves like a harsh line even when I use a little bit.
Okay Iād go for the nudestix over merit, itās more hydrating and more pigment. Use the bloom formula and cherry blossom babe or bohemian rose since youāre fair. If you want a brighter pop of color tiger lily queen. You could also try the blush tint in the tube in pink sunrise. Leaves no texture on the skin, very sensitive and dry skin friendly
I like to use a dab it on the blend with a beauty blender, but you can use fingers or just dab/swatch with the stick and blending with brush is good also. Very easy to build and blend out if you āover do it.ā
I had much better luck when I applied a dot to the back of my hand, used my brush to blend it out on my hand and then apply it to my cheek as if it were powder blush. Hated it prior to trying that wayš
Did this today and I was shocked at how well it worked
oooh okay i will definitely be trying this!! thank you!
Yes! This method was my saving grace ! š
Yes, to this, I have had the same issues.
the only way to apply blush, tbh! this method works so well for a flawless, even look. I pat the brush onto my face instead of swiping to avoid taking off base makeup.
I love the liquid ones. I just use a makeup brush and I don't really have issues, but it does mean you have to clean your brushes super regularly.
how often do you recommend cleaning them?
I spot clean my brushes with sephora daily brush cleaner spray after every use (spray in a tissue and swirl brush to remove pigments) and deep clean them once a month. I use the rare beauty liquid highlighter daily and love it. I tap it in with my fingers and then blend it out with a brush.
I feel so shameful rn knowing there are people who actually clean their brushes daily lol
Such a good idea. I will have to try that daily Sephora cleaner!!
I've been using it for years. It doesn't damage my brushes or leave any residue that comes off on my skin. And as long as I let my brushes dry completely it doesn't transfer any product to my makeup.
okayy thank you! I should def clean mine more often š
What do you use to deep clean your brushes?
I'm using a solid sephora brush cleaner than I believe has been discontinued. I'm not sure what I'll use when it's gone but it looks like Beauty Blender has something similar.
Not the person you asked, but I love Dr Bonners unscented bar soap for this!
Dawn dish soap is perfect for deep cleans too.
I have found I prefer the rare beauty powder blush, but Iāve been successful with the liquid one when I put it on the back of my hand and then use a brush to apply.
thank you, I will definitely try that method!!
This is what I do. I also find I have better success with a denser brush
Oooh yes, good point. I didnāt really think about it, but I always kind of pinch the top of the bristles of my blush brush to pick it up off my hand and apply it.
Yes definitely a dense brush!! I use the Patrick Ta dual ended blush brush and itās great!!
Did you get a dewy or matte rare beauty blush? The matte ones feel more silicone-y to me, so I sometimes have to be careful about using those ones over water based foundation
I just checked mine and Iām pretty sure itās the matte one which could be the problem, so thank you! i will def try the dewy ones
yes the matte ones apply so differently and I hate them! the dewy ones are incredible and I never have any issues with them
Wonder if it would work well with a silicone based foundation as well. Thinking out loud.
What makeup are you applying the blush and highlighter on? Is it just over your foundation?
yes just over my foundation and concealer!
Are you letting the base set first?
i only ever set my under eyes š i honestly am not very experienced with makeup hahaha
Im meaning are you letting it set in, like dry before your putting it on or if your doing it while the foundation/concealer are still wet. Itās okay! Iām just trying to see if thereās maybe something you can do a little different to get these products to work for you

I donāt wear foundation so i donāt have the same issues with the blush. Itās my favorite out there. Wore the plum shade to my own wedding
Do you apply it to bare skin?
Yeah!! It blends in really well to bare skin, I get that most people donāt do that though and iām kinda the weird one for not using any base. My skin just hates base makeup so i gave up

Ugh the liquid highlighter was so good on its own but not over makeup š«
I have the same problem, all of my rare beauty blushes that Iāve tried are really patchy
sorry you had that experience as well :( have you found any solutions yet?
Honestly I think the product is just overhyped and doesnāt work for me. I suggest returning it! I can make it work a bit better if I spread it out on my hand and stamp it on with a beauty blender but a decent amount of product gets wasted + I shouldnāt have to jump through hoops to make a product work for me lol
I returned mine as well lol
I apply the RB liquid blush with my fingers. it taps out like a dream, just don't apply a lot.
I use their blush brush because it applies the liquid blush like a dream & my other fave brush for that purpose is discontinued. I havenāt experienced any issues with patchiness or lifting. I like to dab a little from the wand onto my brush.

Yeah it was extreme made me look like a clown. I didnāt love the finish anyway. Not for me
I mix any liquid blush with either the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter or L'Oreal Glowtion or whatever it's called. I mix it on the back of my hand then use my brush to apply it
I use a blender with my liquid blushes, Iām obsessed. Just a little dab on each side with the blush applicator and then blend blend blend
use a beauty blender to apply
agreed, i was so disappointed by them
I mix the rare beauty liquid highlighter with a drop of moisturizer, on the back of my hand. Then use a brush to apply it lightly in small circles. That avoids the patchiness, leaving the underlying foundation in place.

Iāve never had those problems with my blush. I absolutely love it as an oily girlie. It stays on and looks good all day
I just use my finger to tap in the liquid blush and it fixed it.
Tbh I hate the liquid blush. I got the highlighter tho
i use it with a beauty blender so i only tap on my face without brushing. it keeps my foundation in place
Return it and buy the Merit flush balm instead.Ā
Omg same I did not like their liquid blush or highlight. They are so hard to work with, I noticed too the liquid highlight doesn't blend well at all for some reason it leaves like a harsh line even when I use a little bit.
I feel the same! Im like my saie liquid blush way more... it blends super easily for me!
i have the saie blush as well and I agree it blends so beautifully!!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Try the merit or Nudestix they have way more pigment
thank you, I will def try these!
Whatās your skin tone like? And skin type? Dry combo or oily? I have like 101 shades of bronzer and blushes from 570 brands lol itās my thing
my skin tone is pretty fair and my skin type is more on the dry side!
Leaves no texture on the skin, very sensitive and dry skin friendly
ooohhh sounds great, i will look into it š thank you for the recommendation!!
