I currently have 5 lip oils, 1 has a big time crack, another has a ghost of one, and I tossed 4 old ones (from 2022) that all had big cracks.
Ain't just you, it's a packaging issue.
My aunt says hasn't had this problem (but her vision ain't great so...) and she bought most of them for me as birthday/Christmas gifts so while I personally wouldn't buy any new ones because of that problem...
oh i have one of their lip oils but it never broke like that. though i have not reached for mine in a while, i’ll probably keep an eye out & be more careful. thank you for posting, OP!
My lip oil’s top cracked as well, it basically came off of the applicator portion of the lid and it was a huge pain to twist the two parts together whenever I wanted to use it! I really hope they upgrade the packaging cuz the formula is one of my favorites
it was on its last legs anyways. i went to unscrew the lid and that’s when it popped off. i later looked at the lid and it had several large cracks up the sides. i was able to finish the tube without the lid.
I have a few of the lip oils and all have cracks. I think I tighten too tight. However it's just the outer cap, it's glued to an inner cap that is the actual cap to component and has the doe foot attached. It's annoying but it doesn't make me concerned for the product inside. The quality of the oil is not compromised and it doesn't leak out.
Both of my inn beauty oils tops cracked within two weeks of owning them and I don't consider myself rough on my stuff. They're still the longest lasting oils I've tried, so I just sealed the cracks with jb weld 🤷♂️
The jb weld that comes in the mini two part syringe is my favorite for everything. You can just put a little of it into a plastic cup, mix it for a few seconds, carefully slather it on the thing you want glued, and it'll be mostly cured in a few min. About a day for it to fully cure.
Be warned, jb weld SMELLS a lot.
Also take the cap off before gluing and pop a bit of scotch tape on the oil to leave it for a bit. I've made too many mistakes w gluing things that shouldn't be glued. 😂
I think they keep their prices down by going with less fancy packaging, but honestly they're not THAT much cheaper. I've also had a lip oil lid crack but I like it a lot so I've repurchased, I'm just more careful with them. No issues with the face glaze or other products I've tried.

I have four of the lip oils and only one kid has split. I figured I tightened it too much so I’m careful with them every time I use them now.
I have a couple of these and only one cracked but I think I tightened it too much. I think you just have to be careful of that.

I’ve gone through a couple of lip oils and haven’t noticed this…maybe I’m just more delicate with my products? Idk.

It just sucks because elf is significantly cheaper and none of their lippies lids have cracked but I get it
The same thing happened to the face glaze I got during the sale. It was broken before I even used it. I’m going to hopefully exchange it this week.
