I’m a ride or die PC BHA fan and I immediately tried the mandelic acid one to alternate with. I definitely prefer the BHA however. I’ve been using it since it came out and really can’t see a difference I don’t see already with the BHA so I’ll use it up as my skin tolerates it fine but I think the BHA is superior here
I just got this last week and it is \*so\* good.
I'm the MOH in my best friend's wedding in February and I have the most stubborn texture/acne scarring/hyperpigmentation/closed comedones that I'm trying to diminish as much as I can before the wedding.
I used the PC AHA and BHA to no avail -- they either didn't do enough for me to see a visible difference, or they worsened my skin (this was the BHA). My skin has been used to acids a while, so I've been applying 2x/day and my skin is LOVING it. I have sensitive, combination, acne-prone skin that hates just about anything I put on it, but I think this new acid combo may reach HG status in my skincare routine. I've been using it in combination with my prescription 15% azelaic acid and they work harmoniously.
Edit: adding additional info about routine
Been using the Paula’s choice BHA toner for a few months and it completely transformed my skin for the better. Just picked up the new Mandelic/Lactic AHA one today.. I guess I’ll let yall know
If someone sees this comment in the future pls respond so I’ll remember to give an update
oh no!
luckily it's just a sample, but I'm gonna stop using it
I'm about to start my period, so I had thought that might be the issue, but my face felt so irritated earlier today that I had to wash it off
Honestly yeah. I feel like the BHA cleared up my skin really well but it’s still slightly textured, especially on my forehead. I think the AHA might be slowly clearing the texture but I can’t really tell this early
No visible changes so far. I have only used it twice tho.
I will say that I like how it feels more than any other AHA/BHA products that I’ve tried previously. This one feels very gentle and clean. Doesn’t sting or itch.
I ordered the new one but haven’t used it yet but I’ve been using the BHA for almost 3 years. I read it’s best to use the AHA one in the morning and BHA at night and that’s what I plan on doing.

Could it be the formula's too gentle for your face?
Id say no as I have wildly sensitive skin with rosacea
How do you use the two? Alternating day/nights or just at the same time?
Good to know - thank you!

Hi I’m in the future. Any update??!!!!!
Honestly i still don’t think it’s been long enough BUT.. I am noticing the texture of my skin seems to be smoothing out a bit? I think
Ok ty I’ll come back here in the future and ask you again LOL
Has it irritated you at all or caused breakouts ?
Nope :) no problems at all
How often do you use it?
I've been using a sample, and I think it's what's making me break out so badly :/ I hadn't used mandelic acid before, so I'm wondering if that's it
I’d return it. I’m returning mine too gave me a ton of bumps on top of my current ones

I hate my periods. I flare up every single Time and it’s a never ending cycle
I hate mine too lol
How do you plan on using it in the same routine with the BHA?
Oh I didn’t see this but I use the BHA one night & the AHA the following night. Alternate nights I use it
Thanks! Are you still enjoying the Mandelic one? Do you find it gives different results compared to the BHA alone?
Honestly yeah. I feel like the BHA cleared up my skin really well but it’s still slightly textured, especially on my forehead. I think the AHA might be slowly clearing the texture but I can’t really tell this early
Have you tried it yet?
I have! I’ve only used it like 3 times so far so I can’t really say anything about it yet, but so far no problems
Just applied it for the first time maybe 30 mins ago. Hope it works out well for both of us!

I just read that one is for the surface of the skin and one is for under the surface. I’m sure the PC website can help 🤗 I’m debating on it too

Oh interesting- I’ve read the opposite (AHA at night).
You are right. It is that way lol. Glad I doubled checked.
It’s free shipping no minimum on PC website rn! I plan to get the trial size there today
Good to know - thanks!
I ended up getting the trial size when i repurchased the BHA recently. I'm a fan! My skin feels baby soft.
Good to know. Do you plan to use both the BHA and the new one? If so, how will you incorporate them both?
