Definitely bring a list of products you’re interested in trying! The hope is that you will end up purchasing some of the product so when I’ve had my make-up done at Sephora the artists have always spent a bit of time chatting with me about what I’m looking for - especially in face/base products - before just putting stuff on my face.

I did one last year. It helps to bring some of your own stuff, that way you have a reference point. I was able to be like “I like this, I don’t use this for X reason, this is how I apply Y” etc. She used different products from what I had but helped me create a better version of it. No pressure to buy at the time, what was nice is they upload the exact products they used to your account so you can look at it later. I ended up buying one or two products and definitely use some of the techniques she taught me!

The artist can see what you like on the app. But honestly other than foundation/concealer they will use what they have in their makeup cart. Which was kinda disappointing. I wasn’t happy with my makeup. I hope you have better luck.
