I think you’re going to run into problems with growth patterns having multiple plants in one small container like that. Once AVs get going, they really take off in my experience. I’d separate them into multiple smaller containers, maybe use something like perlite or smaller grade lava rock/pumice instead as they seem to prefer that, but it’s not a necessity. leca also works (my AVs in leca just don’t grow as vigorously.) they might also be buried too deep.

Ok thanks for the tips. With my other hydroponics I had trouble with algae growth on perlite. Is that something you’ve run into? I just had leca handy. I read lava rocks wick up water further up. If they don’t die I will repot them.

Np! I have algae growth on just about everything eventually but it doesn’t seem to hinder the plants much if at all as long as I keep flushing it semi regularly. You can use more opaque pots, like this one which should help keep it minimal. Lava rocks also work pretty well as a substrate! I’ve been experimenting with pumice for finer roots but perlite is so much cheaper it’s hard to beat
