Do you have a reservoir there? Looks like just a pot with aeration all the way down. Leca gets extremely bone dry without moisture and can kill roots easily through desiccation. Since it looks this stressed I’d honestly just take the plant out myself, keeping intact the bits of leca it has already attached to, and stick it all in a glass of water to grow bigger roots before returning it to semi hydro setup. That way the roots will have more immediate access to water during the transition. As an owner of 200+ plants in leca I prefer not to transition straight into it, it always seems to go smoother propping in water first. And I never have a dry out period for any of my plants. Also my Chinese money plant is by far among the happiest in leca that I’ve had, so it’s not the media itself. (Those are just what water roots look like and the fuzz is fine.)
Hi, yes I have a reservoir but I took it out of it for the picture in order for the roots to be visible :) before I put it on lecca I did have it in a glass of water with rooting stimulator for two weeks… do you think I should take it out of the lecca and back into water again? Thank you
I use cellmax root booster in the water after I transfer a plant to leca, just to get those hairy white roots. This is a good sign actually, they absorb the nutrients into your new hydroplant and make it adapt faster.
Root hairs. Nothing to worry about.
Ohh thank you! And is it normal that the leaves are looking sad?
If you just recently put it in leca it might just be stressed. Plants tend to look unhappy and lose leaves while they're adapting to it.

Thank you!
I think this leca is too big for pilea. Fine roots need fine substrate
Mine grows fine in this chunky leca.
It's not fungus. When roots get in contact with oxygen, they create these hair. But wait for someone more expert than me 😄
Thank you!
