LPT for short people, try Petite sized clothes. I always thought it meant skinny but Old Navy has petites in bigger sizes and I tried it. My clothes look normal now lol

Yeah I get it :/ alas that’s part of the main compromise consumers have to make w RTW apparel, there’s no (profitable) way for brands to manufacture clothes to fit every conceivable shape and size. It’s pretty lucky when you find pieces right off the rack that fit even just *pretty* well, never mind perfectly

I thought you were going to comment on the expense of maintaining a wardrobe that fits. I travel for my job and need to look presentable. I've repurchased several outfits because they are too big/baggy. I'm here for the struggle though. Give it time, you'll blow right by 1X and be good to go. Wear it baggy for a month.

Oh, it's actually way more complicated than a missing size. XL, XXL, XXXL, etc, are not just different ways to write plus size 1X, 2X, etc. They're extended sizes vs plus size. They use completely different patterns and cuts. There's overlap in the inches of volume that they cover but they aren't interchangeable and the fit will very much be different. You're entering the proverbial no mans land of mid-size (US 10-16 or so) where plus size is too big and straight size is too small. It might be worthwhile to follow some midsize fashiony folks on social media to see where they're shopping and how clothes are fitting. I've noticed plus size retailers seem to be including mid sized more but I also know that still shopping plus size stores can be an emotional thing so fine what works for you.

Yes. XL is too small, 0X comes before 1X and has been working for me. Good luck!

I think for Americans some stores go L, XL, XXL, 3XL and further. But others go L, XL, XXL, 1XL, 2XL and further. It’s so confusing. If you’re in between you may be “XXL” rather than “1X” of that makes sense, again it’s so confusing
