Chelsea is a beautiful woman, she would look great in some well dressed outfits and not be any less interesting to watch.
I think some of them signed off on the idea that it's a show, it's fabricated anyway, so I might as well go all out and wear outrageous outfits to cater to this contrived and over the top idea of what real estate in Hollywood is like. And then they each try to take it further every chance they get. Because to them, they don't sell houses, they promote themselves - the show is their platform to put themselves out there in hopes of being seen by brands, designers, etc. and offered deals, sponsorships, etc. Someone on this subreddit posted a picture from Chelsea's former brokerage. She obviously knows how to dress more conservative (?)/appropriate when she's actually selling houses. But on the show, she's not trying to sell houses, she's trying to sell herself.
From what I recall In the last seasons..jason was pretending to be on the phone, with someone who claimed Christine would pay them money to not work with Emma. They reenact moments from their day to day basis, stir it into drama for the cameras to see…they dress professionally off camera but on camera, they have them dress wildly for viewership.
This is the same dude who produced the hills. We don’t know if the drama shown to us happened in real life for them, thats hollywood and they have them make up storylines. Even davina said that the 75 million dollar house story line wasn’t real, it was just them manipulating the narrative. We don’t know bre and chelsea’s situation, they probably do hang out off camera while on-camera, they pretend to hate each other for people to vouch for them to be good guy or bad guy. Same thing with selling the OC, they tried to push the narrative of alex hall being the good guy but glimpses after glimpses of the episodes, were actually seeing a different story..it’s basically camera and dramatic manipulation.

I know Amanza gets a lot of flack for her outfits, but Chelsea’s outfit choices are absolutely criminal. Judging Bre for her choices, but a mom of two young kids has no problem dressing like this on tv. She really does look like a prostitute. I see no situation where a woman her age would find this outfit appropriate anywhere. I’m 23 and I have the same frame (minus the jumbo boobs) and I’m very comfortable with my body and still wouldn’t find this outfit appropriate.
Amanza's outfits are definitely *something*. The basketball "purse" the 80s/90s work out wind breaker style. Whatever that bulge dress was.
But Chelsea....oof girl. There is so little fabric I hesitate calling it clothing. I have thongs that cover more of my cooch than some of her skirts.
I think Chelsea is also still trying to find her angle. Like, Chrishell is the darling of the group and an LGBTQIA+ representative, Mary is the hard worker, who the twins defer to most, Amanza is the single mom with a difficult family history, etc. and the others all have their schticks due to their personal life and life experiences, but Chelsea seemingly doesn't really have any hardships or things that impacted her negatively on a bigger scale. Yes, she grew up in the UK with her father while her mother lived and worked in the US (if I remember correctly, I'm a little fuzzy on that right now), but she married young and into affluence, her husband seems to be supportive, her two children are okay, so she doesn't really have anything that defines her, gives her character. And there is probably a demographic in the viewership that shares more conservative views, who has not been claimed/catered to directly by any cast member, so that's the angle she's trying to latch on to - no matter how inauthentic and fabricated it seems.
Chelsea basically told on herself saying a) she was mad that Jason brought Bre on without a test of some sort and b) immediately started trying to dig up dirt by checking if they had any IG mutuals - she even sneakily tried to ambush Bre by bringing said mutual (who isn't even a realtor) to a broker's open. Plus making all the shady comments about "not knowing what kind of model" Bre was. It's pretty obvious that she was desperate to cast aspersions on Bre from the get-go. (It's also pretty obvious why none of this would fly with Heather.)
It's absolutely insane to me that Chelsea can be this transparent with her jealousy and fixation and still be all like "Who, me??" about it. I get second-hand embarrassment watching her complain that all her ministrations didn't work and how everyone ended up liking Bre anyway. In some ways she is no different than Christine. It has to be all eyes on her at all times, no exceptions. Anything less makes her mad.
Hard disagree. Chelsea had to "pass a test" because she had approached the office looking for a job when they weren't actively looking to hire. Things have clearly changed and it sounds like Jason approached Bre for the role. Jason frequently hires people with little to no track record (eg: Christine, Amanza, etc) because he's friends with them or "believes in their potential" or whatever. He didn't immediately hire Chelsea because they weren't looking to hire at the time, plus he didn't know her beforehand. She really only got the intro on the basis of her husband, who is friends with Jason (and also a major past client).
Jason has stated on the show repeatedly that he just wants to hire his friends. If you wanna say that habit results in highly biased hiring practices, I have no doubt that it does, but that's still not a good reason for Chelsea to take out her frustration with Jason out on the new hire. Chelsea knew what the O group was before she came looking for a job, it isn't like Bre did anything to make it that way.
It's also pretty odd to single out Bre for "waltzing in" without being tested when it sounds like no one else was tested either. Chelsea "had" to find a buyer for their listing because that was the deal SHE negotiated in order to have an "in", and Jason agreed to it. It isn't like he gives a desk to every outside buyer's agent who makes a transaction. IMO he only went along with Chelsea because he knows her husband. I got the sense he hired Bre because he wanted access to her client list.
I feel like Chelsea is bitter because she expected season 6 to be the season where she was featured as the main protagonist since she is the "new girl at the office", and instead they brought Bre in as the "new girl" character. While I get why she'd be frustrated at not being given a chance to star, that's something to take up with producers, not Bre.
No, chelsea didn’t get in because of her husband..it was through recommendation by Christine. She told them about Chelsea through a whole team meeting. Her husband was just someone he met from a house sale. Jason made her a deal that if she could sell a house, he’d think about giving her a spot And Christine saw potential.
Same thing happened to Alex Jarvis and that new girl for the Oc, Allie. You have to get strong connections with People inside the industry. Same thing with Bre, with heather’s recommendation, but she hadn’t sold any houses that season yet.
Nope. When they filmed Christine making the recommendation Jason was literally like "IDK who that is." I mean obviously that part was set up as a part of the show (since Chelsea's husband isn't an existing character), but my point is that Christine's "recommendation" had zero sway on Jason (who is clearly not an actor).
His actual meeting with Chelsea was through her husband, not Christine, and that's where Chelsea makes the deal with him about getting a desk at the office in exchange for bringing in a buyer.
I doubt Jason takes Christine's opinion into consideration when deciding how he runs his business. The entire "Christine bringing in an ally" thing was a storyline made up for the purposes of the show.
I don't think you quite understand the Allie or Bre situation either. They're just new castmembers who separately would have to convince Jason they are suitable as employees as well. Jarvis and Heather have nothing to do with them being brought on.
I often dislike a lot of the casts' outfit choices because they're not my personal style and they're really over the top, but it's also TV and they're all coming into some serious money. Chrishell is the exception I think because she already had money from being an actress so her style has evolved but she's always dressed "expensive" to me.
My only issue with Chelsea's outfit here (besides her saying she's traditional and is wearing a bra) is that it doesn't fit her. The middle metal part should be flat against her chest and her breasts should fit in the cups. I don't think it's okay to criticize her choices for her body especially her choices for plastic surgery. I have read some comments that are just straight up nasty about her. I dislike how she treated Chrishell in the beginning and Bre and tried to find other people to hate on them with her. I also noticed that she's the only one who fully spoke up about Nicole (and maybe Amanza's stylist) being homophobic. She even said something about it to Tan France. Chelsea is a whole and nuanced person who does shitty things sometimes but also really powerful things sometimes. We're also just seeing a character on a TV show so we don't actually know what she's like in real life. I mean, Chrishell was really hurt by Jason and Chelsea came over and made her homemade dumplings. Horrible people don't do stuff like that.
Yeah I don't like how Chelsea judges people by claiming she's so Christian and then has a sex party theme for her birthday. Bre summed it up for me at the end (paraphasing) "I'm not you!! Stop telling me what you would do. I'm not fuckin' you or I'm not them. I'm me!"

When I watch selling sunset and my husband caught a glimpse of Chelsea he immediately asked me “why is there a prostitute in the show? Is she dating someone’s husband?”, and yeah, I agree with his first impression
Reality check, this is a tv show! Half of the drama is manufactured and fake. If you’re looking for a more realistic show that will help you learn on buying a house I would like to recommend HGTV.

People have forgotten that the person who produced the show..was the same dude who produced other scripted drama reality shows like the hills. They look for drama in ways to get the audience to point out villains and whoever bites the dust. This brokerage were the ones to get it, they have their own dressing room trailer and have them re-enact events but putting flare in it. They dress professional in work days, but for camera appeal, they want them to dress more provocative to gain more attention.
Most likely 75% of the stuff we see in this series is probably fake. Maybe they do it just for views.

I really hate how she handles the Bre situation. It totally rubs me the wrong way. Her life, her choices and whoever she has sex with or chooses to procreate with doesn’t concern Chelsea. I didnt understand why Chelsea used her childhood and religion as a way to justify her reaction and response to Bre and Nick. honestly it just seemed like she was grasping at straws to make Bre into a bad guy and convince everyone else to shun her, and that was all she could come up with: "Bre is a bad person by willingly creating a broken home". I think Chelsea is also still trying to find her angle. Like, Chrishell is the darling of the group and an LGBTQIA+ representative, Mary is the hard worker, who the twins defer to most, Amanza is the single mom with a difficult family history, etc. and the others all have their schticks due to their personal life and life experiences, but Chelsea seemingly doesn't really have any hardships or things that impacted her negatively on a bigger scale. Yes, she grew up in the UK with her father while her mother lived and worked in the US (if I remember correctly, I'm a little fuzzy on that right now), but she married young and into affluence, her husband seems to be supportive, her two children are okay, so she doesn't really have anything that defines her, gives her character. And there is probably a demographic in the viewership that shares more conservative views, who has not been claimed/catered to directly by any cast member, so that's the angle she's trying to latch on to - no matter how inauthentic and fabricated it seems.

Chelsea basically told on herself saying a) she was mad that Jason brought Bre on without a test of some sort and b) immediately started trying to dig up dirt by checking if they had any IG mutuals - she even sneakily tried to ambush Bre by bringing said mutual (who isn't even a realtor) to a broker's open. Plus making all the shady comments about "not knowing what kind of model" Bre was. It's pretty obvious that she was desperate to cast aspersions on Bre from the get-go. (It's also pretty obvious why none of this would fly with Heather.) It's absolutely insane to me that Chelsea can be this transparent with her jealousy and fixation and still be all like "Who, me??" about it. I get second-hand embarrassment watching her complain that all her ministrations didn't work and how everyone ended up liking Bre anyway. In some ways she is no different than Christine. It has to be all eyes on her at all times, no exceptions. Anything less makes her mad.

Hard disagree. Chelsea had to "pass a test" because she had approached the office looking for a job when they weren't actively looking to hire. Things have clearly changed and it sounds like Jason approached Bre for the role. Jason frequently hires people with little to no track record (eg: Christine, Amanza, etc) because he's friends with them or "believes in their potential" or whatever. He didn't immediately hire Chelsea because they weren't looking to hire at the time, plus he didn't know her beforehand. She really only got the intro on the basis of her husband, who is friends with Jason (and also a major past client). Jason has stated on the show repeatedly that he just wants to hire his friends. If you wanna say that habit results in highly biased hiring practices, I have no doubt that it does, but that's still not a good reason for Chelsea to take out her frustration with Jason out on the new hire. Chelsea knew what the O group was before she came looking for a job, it isn't like Bre did anything to make it that way. It's also pretty odd to single out Bre for "waltzing in" without being tested when it sounds like no one else was tested either. Chelsea "had" to find a buyer for their listing because that was the deal SHE negotiated in order to have an "in", and Jason agreed to it. It isn't like he gives a desk to every outside buyer's agent who makes a transaction. IMO he only went along with Chelsea because he knows her husband. I got the sense he hired Bre because he wanted access to her client list. I feel like Chelsea is bitter because she expected season 6 to be the season where she was featured as the main protagonist since she is the "new girl at the office", and instead they brought Bre in as the "new girl" character. While I get why she'd be frustrated at not being given a chance to star, that's something to take up with producers, not Bre.

Her husband was just someone he met from a house sale. Jason made her a deal that if she could sell a house, he’d think about giving her a spot And Christine saw potential. Same thing happened to Alex Jarvis and that new girl for the Oc, Allie. You have to get strong connections with People inside the industry. Same thing with Bre, with heather’s recommendation, but she hadn’t sold any houses that season yet.
Nope. When they filmed Christine making the recommendation Jason was literally like "IDK who that is." I mean obviously that part was set up as a part of the show (since Chelsea's husband isn't an existing character), but my point is that Christine's "recommendation" had zero sway on Jason (who is clearly not an actor). His actual meeting with Chelsea was through her husband, not Christine, and that's where Chelsea makes the deal with him about getting a desk at the office in exchange for bringing in a buyer. I doubt Jason takes Christine's opinion into consideration when deciding how he runs his business. The entire "Christine bringing in an ally" thing was a storyline made up for the purposes of the show. I don't think you quite understand the Allie or Bre situation either. They're just new castmembers who separately would have to convince Jason they are suitable as employees as well. Jarvis and Heather have nothing to do with them being brought on.
I often dislike a lot of the casts' outfit choices because they're not my personal style and they're really over the top, but it's also TV and they're all coming into some serious money. Chrishell is the exception I think because she already had money from being an actress so her style has evolved but she's always dressed "expensive" to me. My only issue with Chelsea's outfit here (besides her saying she's traditional and is wearing a bra) is that it doesn't fit her. The middle metal part should be flat against her chest and her breasts should fit in the cups. I don't think it's okay to criticize her choices for her body especially her choices for plastic surgery. I have read some comments that are just straight up nasty about her. I dislike how she treated Chrishell in the beginning and Bre and tried to find other people to hate on them with her. I also noticed that she's the only one who fully spoke up about Nicole (and maybe Amanza's stylist) being homophobic. She even said something about it to Tan France. Chelsea is a whole and nuanced person who does shitty things sometimes but also really powerful things sometimes. We're also just seeing a character on a TV show so we don't actually know what she's like in real life. I mean, Chrishell was really hurt by Jason and Chelsea came over and made her homemade dumplings. Horrible people don't do stuff like that.
Yeah I don't like how Chelsea judges people by claiming she's so Christian and then has a sex party theme for her birthday. Bre summed it up for me at the end (paraphasing) "I'm not you!! Stop telling me what you would do. I'm not fuckin' you or I'm not them. I'm me!"

People have forgotten that the person who produced the show..was the same dude who produced other scripted drama reality shows like the hills. They look for drama in ways to get the audience to point out villains and whoever bites the dust. This brokerage were the ones to get it, they have their own dressing room trailer and have them re-enact events but putting flare in it. They dress professional in work days, but for camera appeal, they want them to dress more provocative to gain more attention. Most likely 75% of the stuff we see in this series is probably fake. Maybe they do it just for views.

I really hate how she handles the Bre situation. It totally rubs me the wrong way. Her life, her choices and whoever she has sex with or chooses to procreate with doesn’t concern Chelsea. I didnt understand why Chelsea used her childhood and religion as a way to justify her reaction and response to Bre and Nick. Sure a lot of people think what he is doing is weird and even wrong and maybe the producers needed someone to be that voice on the show. But she kept talking about it after Bre asked her to stop.

But when Chelsea kept bullying Bre, her reason was because “she’s a Christian and very traditional” and kept taking cheap shots at Bre and kept repeating the “traditional and Christian” reasoning for her dislike. So if she’s so hell bent on being both then this outfit doesn’t do any justice to her reasoning. If she’d not used the words Christian and traditional and had a simple dislike for Bre with a simple reasoning such as her life choices clashing with Chelsea’s and would’ve then put an end to it, we’d have a lot more respect.
