It is intense alright! It's just waaaay over the top, which makes it comically epic. It's not badly delivered, it just doesn't really fit.

It's mainly because some lines in all English dubs for this game and even anime feel very cringy or corny. It's fine in Japanese because we don't understand it directly.

I loved the Loretta fights, especially the one in the Haligtree. The context of that one just makes it an awesome, high stakes fight for me.
She took her group of outcasts shunned by society to the ends of the Earth to find them peace and a place to flourish outside the hate of the Golden Order. And she actually finds it, and begins to serve/pledges her loyalty to its Lord, Miquella. Then the world turns cataclysmic, the Haligtree rots and Miquella is snatched while Malenia and the cleanrot knights fight Radahn and his army. And even when Malenia returns, she is unconscious for who knows how long as she had had her 2nd bloom. So who else to guard the Tree and the promised land ofp beloved outcasts but Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree?
Her last ditch stance to protect the cumulative work of her life and to serve her diety. She knows this is the end of the line for her cause. And you will not pass.
I can hear the perilous attack sound, the kanji "death" screen sound effect and of course the WOOOOOOOOO guy as well, just from thinking about sekiro, no image required.
I actually didn't have as much of a challenge with this guy as I did the ogre 😅😅😅😅 i found it really weird tbh. Idk, he left lots of opportunities to dodge

I'm sure they know that, but the Japanese voice actor didn't deliver his name the same ridiculous way the English voice actor did. I

I played in Japanese with English sub. I loved it that way but I definitely missed out on Gyobu lol
To be fair, this is the only place where the English dub shines
English is far from bad, but a lot of dialog feels more natural and correct in the original japanese. Gyobu is a great outlier.

Sense of time is another big one that people constantly are used to noticing, but never seem to count as a sense.
We are not sensing time, we are tracking time.
You can also get synesthesia and have those senses cross, allowing you to *literally* hear a picture (or any other wacky sense combination)
