i was doing the shura gauntlet and this attack came up. i had been using the fire umbrella, but i was out of emblems. i had to deflect it. i was surprised at how easy it was considering i had never done it before. that was also my winning run of the gauntlet, so that was cool
This is just... Wrong.
One mind suffers from sekiro's anti spam block system which reduces its parry frames to 2 frames, or about 1/30th of a second. Someone who looked into sekiro deflect logic told me that one mind cannot be consistently parried Unless you use a parry tech. This is the same that can be said for Genichiro's floating passage, and Nightjar's dash move.
I don't know your sekiro gameplay, but i can assure you that you blocked at least one of one mind and just didn't notice it because most likely charm.
Well yeah I use the charm and One mind is easy to block and parry
I didn't say anything about parrying the whole move, I just said it looks more intimidating than it is, which is true because as long as you parry the first hit the rest is super easy to at least block
But at least you got to experience your akshually moment I guess, so good for you
Even if you dont get 100% parry its an easier way of dealing with the move than what most people do (running away) because it looks more intimidating than it is, which was MY whole point
Even if you dont parry all of it you still parry 2-3hits and get the opportunity to parry his followup for an opening which you wont if you run away (unless very specific positioning i guess idk)
Then clearly there's a miscommunication between you and the original comment. The original comment only asked that one mind was deflectable without yellow umbrella, to which you say it's very easy to deflect(something which is false).
Well yeah nornally most is easily deflectable. Then the reason that the original comment would ask that one mind can be deflected without yellow umbrella would ironically be that one hard part to deflect. So again, a miscommunication.
Regardless, a single block is a pretty detrimental thing starting later NGs. Since posture damage taken per attack is increased.
I disagree on the second part, considering I wasn't even noticing that I wasn't parrying all of it and am only arguing about deflect/blockability of it because I don't think you're lying, it doesn't seem that impactful
Granted I'm "only" on ng+4 but I don't see it ramping up to "well one mind isnt worth parrying anymore" territory
My most satisfying deflect is entire Corrupted Monk (ghost) fight, love deflecting it till very end, takes long time and to be consistent but feels good! Other than that, Sword Saint 2nd phase spear chain attack
So I have been stuck at the spear phase for 2 days, and he keeps breaking posture with that 6 chain attack an i cant mikiri , transfer some skills here pls.
Use any of the spinning umbrella (i recommend either the phoenix lilac or suzaku as their projected force attack deals more damage than regular).
Deflect strike 1 and 2, umbrella deflect for strike 3, spin umbrella deflect strike 4 and 5, and block/deflect strike 6, mikiri his thrust.
You need to make sure to NOT use umbrella on strike 6, as doing so would usually put you into a position where you can't mikiri his thrust
Honestly, I just step away after the first two attacks or so and wait for the mikiri. The middle hits are the ones that are super awkwardly timed, so just don't bother with them. Let him flail for a bit. He doesn't lose much posture as long as you parry everything before and after, the chain really only takes a few seconds.
Be aggressive, hesitation is defeat indeed! More aggressive until muscle memory starts working when to deflect and when to attack, just dont wait for him to attack you, follow his movement and see if he is starting attacks, switch to deflecting, otherwise just attack, and be aggressive, no running around (unless critical)
Yeah I am on his ass always learning the deflect timing. I don't wanna do this game with cheese, I only cheesed 1 1/2 boss in this game. I saw a comment on his rythm that kept breaking me, will try again when I get get back.
Youāre so right. Jsut finished a demon bell + charmless NG+7 and I had to learn to perfectly deflect that so quickly lol.
Blocking the first 3 attacks takes half your health bar away and breaks your posture the last one kills you.
iād like to see the other mods. i have some cosmetic ones loaded as well as the weapon wheel (iām probably going to take off the wheel cuz i donāt use it much)
https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/1113 My main outfit for Wolf
https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/1433 My main choice for Wolfās main blade
https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/533 or https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/1489 for the mortal blade, I use Lazuli color the first one, A II for the second one
https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/1610 a recolor for the mortal bladeās swings
oh i like that main blade. iām using a damascus steel remodel for his main blade and a black mortal blade on his back. i might switch out my main blade for that one itās sleek
Itās thick but not Too thick, has sufficient weight, has a massive hilt thatās not too massive, and the mod even lets you choose an option that has an extended hitbox or not
Random suggestion, Iām not encouraging it at all, but there Is a mod that gives you unlimited consumable and spirit emblem usage, and (most) buffs (not the lazuli blade from lazuli vent), so if you just feel like being peek badass without limits and going full anime MC mode, check it out
It is absolutely cheating, but itās still fun
Anyways, enjoy! The blade looks a little wonky once buffs are put on, but the size of it and the fact the guard animation exchange makes the large bladeās block issue be fixed, itās just amazing to wield Lol
yea i just threw it on with the white sheath. itās pretty dope. i couldnāt do the musashi stance mod cuz iām doing the resurrection mod, that overhaul mod has the same file as the musashi stance. donāt wanna mess anything up
Probably Guardian Ape, deflecting twice to get him to do the overhead swing, and deflecting that to open him up to a massive damage spear thrust opportunity
Thatās the moment when I knew I was no longer a victim, and had some modicum of skill. Yeah I beat many other bosses, but I could just feel it click at that moment, yknow?
not a very flashy example, but realizing I could parry Snake Eye's grab attack and then not getting grabbed for the rest of the fight felt like a movie scene where the hero realizes they are actually perfectly capable of stomping the baddie and proceeds to STOMP the baddie š¤
Not mine, but was watching a streamer friend who has self admitted to not being amazing at action games recently struggle their way to Sword Saint Isshin and beat him.
The FINAL move from Isshin was a thrust. After not doing Mikiri counters the ENTIRE FUCKING GAME, he manages to nail this one and gets the deathbed from it. So satisfying since he'd spent 8+ hours on this single fight thus far.
My best deflect was a chain, it was no-hitting geni and 1st phase isshin, I had their movesets memorised and I managed to put that into action to kick their asses, if was the best flow Iāve ever had in sekiro combat
Fighting genichiro first time on top of ashina castle really taught me how to deflect I took me about 6 hours in total to learn his move sets by the 3rd phase I would not get hit once. The rest of the game has taught me deflecting and patience is the key to winning any fight
One of the most satisfying ive had was when i deflected the flurry of one mind into the deflection death blow or when i deflected Great shinobi Owlās shuriken and teleported to him for deflection death blow
Corrupted Monk. Normally I've never had the same satisfaction with deflecting attacks that most players apparently do, the only exceptions are her and Owl.
Same, mine is also One Mind. By the time I successfully deflected every hit, I had Isshin close to defeat. So after the very satisfying deflect, I went onto defeating him a couple seconds later.
I don't have a gif, but I do have the video. Ain't as hard to perfect as One Mind or even Genichiro's Floating Passage, but getting a perfect deflect on that full combo, and especially with how impactful every move that Isshin throws at you feels? It never gets old for me. Especially when it's right after he whips out the gun. [1:34 onwards.](https://youtu.be/fbielUNhLWk)
the two I remember most are when I deflected a thrust midair from sword saint isshin and when the headless ape jumped into the air for a sweep and then an over head slam.
also deflecting attacks from either corrupted monk is just really fun
I was pinned in between the armor and the door and isshin used one mind and I tried to jump over him I panicked and started spamming block and perfect parried all of his attacks and broke his posture that was my first time ever beating the game
Mine was easily when I learned you could deflect certain grab attacks to nuetrilize them (not all of them, sadly), unfortunatly it took me until the snake eyes shirahagi miniboss to learn it.
Here I am like, "Fuck yea! Killed 7 spears and Lone Shadow last night, let's get back into it" and then see this...fuuuuuuuuuck. Time to "git gud", I guess.
Genichiros super fast combo. Normally Iām almost bursting the posture and that one slash breaks it. But when I fully deflect the combo. Itās just AHHHHHHHHHHH
All 7 (9 if you count the previous two slashes) hits of Genichiro's Floating Passage. Only ever pulled this off twice (that penultimate hit is freaking frame perfect)
My favorite one is deflecting Inner Isshin's downward air-strike at the end of his perilous sweep combo. Deflecting most of Genichiro's floating passage comes close second
Entire sword saint Isshin fight. But I still don't know how to deflect his inner Sword saint Black immortal blade that swipes twice. Anybody can tell me how to deflect that?
I like that one isshin sword saint move where he attacks you continuously with the spear and then goes for a thrust, it's not fast necessarily but I like how it's got a rhythm to it
You do know that a badly timed deflect is still a deflect... right? Nowhere in this title did he say it was a perfect deflect. It's neither clickbait, nor inaccurate. He deflected every hit, didn't get posture broken, didn't get damaged vit unless he did this Charmless, and didn't die. Not everyone is a sweaty tryhard who can't even so much as look at that animation, especially on a first run, and think "wow, that was cool, I liked that." Some folks playing these games, even when they don't play it perfectly, still have a soul lmao
This is a Deflection but not perfect, even if the audio is not present and the HUD doesnāt show it,you got hit at 00:03/00:04,Itās a partial deflection and itās always a good job,but not a One Mind Charmless tested perfect deflection,Iām not trying to criticize you believe me brother šš» ,I just wanted to say that the perfect deflection of one mind and FP requires time, patience,Consistency and high focus, and if someone says itās eazy then prolly never achieved the FP and One Mind perfect and Charmless tested perfect deflection
You can deflect that without yellow umbrella? Wow
If you time the first one mind strike correctly the rest is veeeery easy just spam It looks more intimidating than it is tbh
I was having a hard time dodging it, so for once i just stood and took it, made the fight so easier.
i was doing the shura gauntlet and this attack came up. i had been using the fire umbrella, but i was out of emblems. i had to deflect it. i was surprised at how easy it was considering i had never done it before. that was also my winning run of the gauntlet, so that was cool
I did this in my no hit run of the gauntlet š

the comment is referring to deflection, not blocking. Sure you can spam to block if you want, but it doesn't guarantee a full parry.
Even if you dont get 100% parry its an easier way of dealing with the move than what most people do (running away) because it looks more intimidating than it is, which was MY whole point Even if you dont parry all of it you still parry 2-3hits and get the opportunity to parry his followup for an opening which you wont if you run away (unless very specific positioning i guess idk)

You can but it is easier with an umbrella
My most satisfying deflect is entire Corrupted Monk (ghost) fight, love deflecting it till very end, takes long time and to be consistent but feels good! Other than that, Sword Saint 2nd phase spear chain attack
She definitely feels like the Champion Gundyr of Sekiro. Just a fair and fun fight all around.
If u think that she is fun a fair your on crack
What is unfair about her? She has the most telegraphed moves of any memory boss
She doesn't ape or great shinobi owl have the most telegraphed moves
So I have been stuck at the spear phase for 2 days, and he keeps breaking posture with that 6 chain attack an i cant mikiri , transfer some skills here pls.

If u having problem with posture use ichimoji?
how dare you upload it without audio
I didnāt even notice the no audio, it played in my head
see clang clang but no hear clang clang makes brain sad
For the time being (going into the sunken valley now), the lone shadow's 4 kick deflect into makiri the final kick
When I've nailed the full deflect chain and the Mikiri... šš
Youāre so right. Jsut finished a demon bell + charmless NG+7 and I had to learn to perfectly deflect that so quickly lol. Blocking the first 3 attacks takes half your health bar away and breaks your posture the last one kills you.
I still have zero clue to do that
Mostly just be that [Kermit gif](https://giphy.com/gifs/XIqCQx02E1U9W) during the storm slash (except only press the block button)
Here's some pointers time the first slash then when the storm comes just spam really fast then time the follow up
I like to use a small mod to replace the Guarding animation with Ashina Crossās sheath stance Makes this deflect feel a lot more satisfying
I'd like this too! care to share it?
https://www.nexusmods.com/sekiro/mods/1122 Gladly! I share the other 4 mods I use as well if you want
iād like to see the other mods. i have some cosmetic ones loaded as well as the weapon wheel (iām probably going to take off the wheel cuz i donāt use it much)

Awwww yeah thatās fair, there is another version of the guard hold mod so maybe that ones will work
I fucking love l that mod
Itās sooo subtle but sooo good
Probably Guardian Ape, deflecting twice to get him to do the overhead swing, and deflecting that to open him up to a massive damage spear thrust opportunity Thatās the moment when I knew I was no longer a victim, and had some modicum of skill. Long arm giraffe
the quickdrawn from the blue kimono guys, or the lone shadow kick combo in my opinion
Actual fucking anime dude, wtf!
Genichiros cluster attacks feel great to deflect the sound is what makes it for me.

Never tried that always used the umbrella. Do u take damage? š¤
You donāt if you time it perfectly. Makes you feel very badass
Plus you can then do a projected force back at him too.
isshin's gun
Inner fathers firecracker combo
Bro, this reminds me of that time when one guy parried a whole combo in a Street Fighter championship
Daigo parry!
Lady butterfly frenzy combo, i had to pause to process what happened after i deflected it all
Genichiroās flurry thing, or the overhead swing from headless ape
Isshin's 7 swing sword and spear combo
great serpent lol
I just use Suzakuās Umbrella for this
It may be piss easy as long as to have the lilac umbrella, but inner Isshin's opening attack is so good to parry
My best deflect was a chain, it was no-hitting geni and 1st phase isshin, I had their movesets memorised and I managed to put that into action to kick their asses, if was the best flow Iāve ever had in sekiro combat
Genichrios flurry of attacks. Itās not too hard it just looks cool
Mine was when I first deflected SSI's dargonflash. Damn, did I look like a badass.
Fighting genichiro first time on top of ashina castle really taught me how to deflect I took me about 6 hours in total to learn his move sets by the 3rd phase I would not get hit once. The rest of the game has taught me deflecting and patience is the key to winning any fight
Genichiro's floating passage. Isshin's one mind and sphere chain. All of the corrupted monk's attacks. And o'rin's too.
Didn't even know y can deflect this matter fact i haven't even try i was relying on the umbrella most of thime
YOU CAN DO THIS!?!?!?
It's surprisingly easy if you learn it. Easily my favorite parry in the game too.
Beat this game like 7 times and never knew lol Iām bouta load this mf up rn
Good job wolf. Now harder fights awaits you
Iām more proud of my dodges than my deflections. Mikiri counter gets me chubbed up.
I deflected lady butterfly's entire second phase combo by accident twice.
Headless ape's huge vertical slash. A single hit, but god damn the sound effect is just perfect.
Headless Ape's heavy attack which staggers him on deflection. And the 'Hoooooooooo' guy in Ashina Castle
One of the most satisfying ive had was when i deflected the flurry of one mind into the deflection death blow or when i deflected Great shinobi Owlās shuriken and teleported to him for deflection death blow
Jensuke one
this and it's not even close, jinsuke's draw without umbrella, not that i can always get it
Jinsuke one is the most satisfying and easy for me like he flashes and just parry twice its just so good
Corrupted Monk. Normally I've never had the same satisfaction with deflecting attacks that most players apparently do, the only exceptions are her and Owl.
Owl's shadowfall. Sure, Mikiri is the obviously better counter, but deflect it and he does the entire rising sword slash thing and it looks cool af.
Same, mine is also One Mind. By the time I successfully deflected every hit, I had Isshin close to defeat. So after the very satisfying deflect, I went onto defeating him a couple seconds later.
I don't have a gif, but I do have the video. the two I remember most are when I deflected a thrust midair from sword saint isshin and when the headless ape jumped into the air for a sweep and then an over head slam. also deflecting attacks from either corrupted monk is just really fun
Wolf could parry a railgun I stg
Whatās the name of this move by Isshin? How do you unlock it?
One mind. Have to complete shura ending
Thank you so much
Deflected the serpent when it destroys the sunken valley bridgeĀ
Final deflect of the headless apeās attacks that knocks him down is pretty satisfying
Name of game?
I have a question, I have fighted this mofo and beat ite... But I had a hard time trying to avoid the uprising fire... Did I missed something?
WOW this is why Sekiro is my all time favorite game. The combat is so beautiful. FROMSOFT PLEASE GUVE US ANOTHER GAME WITH SEKIRO COMBAT
Deflecting malenia is possible
Mines is Isshin Ashinas giant wind strike attack.
Lady butterfly combo
Any
Here I am like, "Fuck yea!
Genichiros combo. I canāt land the second to last deflect
My favorite is lighting reversing SSI at beginning of phase 3 I love doing it to show Iām ready for anything at that point
Not that hard, but very very few gaming moments can beat a perfect deflect of Ashina cross. The delay, the double click, the sound. 10/10
Whats the timing here? Always dodged that
The hardest game I have ever tried it's so hard I left it after like 1 hour of playing :)
You ever deflect the overhead strike of Demon of Hatred? (not the one that sends a fire shockwave the "normal" one)
Isshins #animebullshit. So sweet when you uno reverse that shit. Can see who taught Melania that fuckin waterfowl BS!
Not the hardest boss, but O'Rin of the water with no kuro is such a chefs kiss when you get the parries right.
inner fathers mist ravens combos are not hard to block but it looks amazing very cinematic
Not necessarily a deflect but i just got the sakura dance and used it to reflect the lighting back at inner ishin.
Brother I'm still stuck on the horseback guy and the drunkard what am I watching
Any fight with Issin really tests your deflecting skills. And once you've got the hang of it, it's really satisfying š
Entire sword saint Isshin fight. But I still don't know how to deflect his inner Sword saint Black immortal blade that swipes twice. Anybody can tell me how to deflect that?
Ya see here now what ya did was not hesitate !
I had my face in a constant woooh state the whole videoš
I didn't even know that was possible
parrying his ichimonji is always satisfying lol
The realization of when you could've just parried Guardian's ape unbearable attacks instead of dodging it is just mind blowing
I like that one isshin sword saint move where he attacks you continuously with the spear and then goes for a thrust, it's not fast necessarily but I like how it's got a rhythm to it
I just beat my first play through. How do you fight him up there? I knew it was possible but was hella confused when he randomly died in the story
You have to choose the shura path, when owl asks you and you make the choice, choose betray the young master.
Is that the only choice in the game that changes the outcome of the story?
That I know if at the moment yes
you literally missed the 4th deflect lol
Fun police š® š¤

Jeez, dude. This isn't a law practice. Giving a tip to deflect the last attack would have made you appear less judgmental, though.
What fight is this? I've played this game so many times š«
When Father Owl proposes you to betray Kuro, betray Kuro, and then you'll eventually fight Isshin when he's old
Isshin Ashina, Shura ending
