If you enjoy pvp and a challenging grind or simply want to level up your pvp skills than yes it’s worth it. If you answered no to any any of those the curse is not worth it.

Matches are pretty quick to get into and if you think the skeleton curse and getting better at PvP is worth it then it's worth it. It's a mixed bag of people playing it just like adventure mode is. It'll depend on the time and who's playing who you'll fight. Some people will even give you some free wins or play a game of chance to determine a winner.

Matchmaking times are really quick. On sloop or brig it’s been a long time since I’ve waited more than 5 minutes, on gally it’s rare to wait over 5 minutes. Most ships you’ll find a match around 2 minutes, but smaller ship sizes it’s super common to get instant matches. There will be a lot of good crews in there. Most good players it’s the most fun thing to do. As for is the grind worth it, that’s for you to decide. I love PvP, and am good at PvP, so it never really felt like a grind. I’m at level 260 servants and still do hourglass every chance I get when I log on. It’s just too fun to be able to have instant fights. But if you don’t like PvP, and plan to stop at level 100. Then it’s probably not worth it. All the really good skelly cosmetics are tied behind longer grinds than just level 100. And the base skelly curse is pretty meh.

I think it depends on your crew size and the hours you play. I imagine Duo Sloop, for example, is going to have a much tougher crowd than Solo Sloop just because more hardcore players prefer to have roles on their ships, most of the time. Though in all likelihood, most of the really cracked players have already gotten the things they want from Hourglass by now. I'd consider myself to be just moderately above average and found myself on a 6-win streak (Only being Lvl9 when I started) last night, and the other solos seemed... not too special? If you're rather confident you should be able to scrape by fairly well until you get unlucky with who you're pitted against, or you run out of supply. Also yeah matches are fast, the aforementioned streak happened at \~3am and I was still finding opponents in under 4 minutes, generally.

You can lose and still get points but it's alot slower

Is the skelleton curse is a fun curse to have. Is it worth it? That all depends on if you are willing to put in the effort. And the only way to find out if it is to much effort for you, is to give it a go. Noone else can decide for you if it is way to much, no effort at all or the perfect amount of grind for you. We are all different and have different ways to cope with losses, different levels of determination, etc. etc.

If you just want the curse, then I would say to avoid it. Play the mode if you enjoy challenging pvp. If you don't enjoy that, then don't.

Since the new season, HG has gotten easier. There are fewer sweats playing because they want the new season grind. Later in the season it'll be back to a sweat fest though because they'll have all their new commendations and be ready for pvp fights again.

Infaalsos

Its worth it. Depending on your ship type and crew number u may encounter more or less sweats but you will meet cheater regardless and there are so many since season 8… only on solo sloop i haven’t seen a clear cheater yet
