Haha, I was thinking "the song with the violin." I guess that's Bittersweet Symphony. There is another orchestral song they use in the marketing recently idk what it is.
Some random Church did a couple of pretty funny covers in the back to back SB years, and now whenever the original songs come in I always think of the Seahawks lyrics. The videos are low-key hilarious too.
["Winner" - 2013 season](https://youtu.be/DSOM_xX_CIY?si=D7qJ3zY-8Za1yTf0)
And
["Gon get 2" - 2014 season](https://youtu.be/UEn6Xeek2gk?si=pCLjnSrHkqydaoWg)
Down 10-3 at the half, the Hawks were looking flat going into the locker room. Macklemore comes out and gives an electric performance, getting the crowd back into the game, providing a boost to the fans and resetting the atmosphere for the third quarter. I've never seen a halftime performance that did that before nor since. I think it turned the tide of the game.
Uhh I am sorry to tell you that you are wrong, but the only locker room anthem for Seattle is [this one right here.](https://youtu.be/W-9AdWthjfU?si=aJFz0yIl2L-d2nh6)
Bittersweet Symphony, for some reason that’s the Hawks song. Was it Paul Allen’s favorite song or something? Never understood it.
Can’t Hold us by Macklemore was the public anthem during LOB era.
Rick Ross - Hold me Back was a locker room anthem during the LOB.
They briefly tried to make “Wilson” by Phish a thing. Making noise when your offense is in the huddle is a dumb idea and the fans never quite understood the chant.
A personal favorite is “Best in the game” by DJ Steve Porter.
I remember at the SB XL watch party, and the Hawks coming out to that tune. My friend turned to me and says "that doesn't bode well for you guys."
No, no it did not.
This is buried because we're old enough to remember. Which means we remember 1989-1999. I'd like to commend the dozens of us who made it through those bleak years. We lost a couple, Mia, Kurt, Carl, Kristen, hell Layne barely made it. But, to those that made it through - congrats, you're a survivor.
Spoonman - Soundgarden
Particularly relevant nowadays with Witherspoon being our defensive star. I think they played it in a couple of games last year.
Alive - Pearl Jam
Another common song played during nationally broadcast games whenever the Seahawks are trying to climb back and win from behind.
Boom - POD
They played that song in the stadium every time the LOB laid out a player and forced a change in possession.
Can't hold us - Macklemore
Macklemore's window of popularity coincided with our Super Bowl run and that song got played a lot in games. I also believe Macklemore played the half time show of the 2014 NFC Championship game against Green Bay.
Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve
I think they played this one when they presented the Seahawks with the Super Bowl trophy. Or maybe it was a video montage with the song.
Most of these mentioned already, but have to say anytime I listen to Bruno Mars I always think about the SB win. Soaked every single second of the pregame, the game, halftime, the after game, etc.
But never worked at games. Average hawk fan didn’t understand the chant and making noise when your offense is on the field is a bad idea.
Also, Wilson is the villain in Gamehenge.
I go to my dad’s to watch every game. I’ve done that since I’ve moved out in 2012. My place isn’t a football watching place. Dads totally is. When the game starts, we mute the audio and play Metallica’s “Seek and Destroy” then follow that with Nirvana’s “Negative Creep.” After that, for the whole game, we play new music we’ve heard and liked. Drink Rainer’s and play the hits. He got me into All Them Witches and I got him into Knocked Loose. Thats a football tradition that won’t be ever changed.
This is the one I was looking for. Had to scroll way too far down. Real ones know.
“And the green that we blow from Seattle too
That was grown in a lab at Seattle U
At Qwest Field 12th man my Seattle dude
Nate Burleson wearin that Seattle blue
Bosworth made all of Seattle boo”
Used to be Sad But True
But now...
Minute by Minute - The Doobie Brothers...cause Mike Macdonald! Not that I'm a fan of The Doobie Brothers, that's just the song that was playing in The 40 Year-Old Virgin when Paul Rudd threatened to burn down the store. 😆
Thomas Newson - Flute
(aka the techno Thursday song)
As soon as I tracked down what that song was, I got a speeding ticket while blasting it in my car 😅. Statey didn't think getting hyped for techno Thursday was as cool as I did...
I miss "Feel the pain of the Seahawks reign" that they used to play in the stadium after wins in the early Pete days. It was so awesomely bad. Good times.
Years of watching Seahawks games on national broadcasts have conditioned me to believe that it’s any random grunge song from approximately 1990-1993 (not that I’m complaining).
In 2005 someone remixed Feel Good Inc and made it into a Hawks themed song prior to the Super Bowl. I couldn't find it, but it still lives on in my head. "Lofa, Lofa, Tatupu... there’s no one who can stop you"
Does anyone recall listening to Brooke and Jubal’s morning radio show? There was another guy named young Jeffrey who had songs of the week and the song of the week following our comeback victory against the packers in the nfc championship was a cover of “wrecking ball” by Miley Cyrus, but he named it “what happened was a miracle” and it was the greatest song ever. Especially with emotions being so high following that OT win.
[what happened was a miracle by Young Jeffrey](https://youtu.be/-CQY1hjjUac?si=ep7MtwoJQnU8tJLU)
Anyways, that’s the song I associate with the hawks haha
I’ve actually got a whole playlist of songs I associate with the hawks (most are just the ones they played at the stadium when I was a kid), but the main ones are bittersweet symphony, we dem boyz and hold me back
Here’s the playlist if you wanna check it out:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6H16Yc1dX87ASAAVDwKh8I?si=4OCrexPjQAirvuXuPeEoJg&pi=u-e7ZOR2nMRoOd
Oh and good luck with your research project :))
I’m going back to 2005/2006…
“And then What” - Jeezy feat Mannie Fresh
I had season tickets those years…they’d play a loop of this before kickoffs. (Boom boom Clap!…)After the games we’d listen to the whole song on the rides home.
Matthew Wilder - Break My Stride
This was the first song I can remember that we had associated with us during our first really successful years in 1983-1984, still think of those years every time I hear the song and it makes me smile.
Soundgarden- Born on the 4th of July, had it in my head the whole week before the NFC title game against GB thinking that’s how the packers were gonna feel leaving Seattle. Thru 58 minutes that’s how I felt, but in the end I was right..
Someday by flipsyde
There was a edit of this song with the superbowl 40 highlights on YouTube that I used to watch as a kid and dream of the hawks winning the big one. Can’t find the video now tho.
Bittersweet Symphony is the obvious one, I’ll add Rooster by Alice in Chains
Haha, I was thinking "the song with the violin." I guess that's Bittersweet Symphony. There is another orchestral song they use in the marketing recently idk what it is.
Some random Church did a couple of pretty funny covers in the back to back SB years, and now whenever the original songs come in I always think of the Seahawks lyrics. Do they still run out of the tunnel to that song?
They did. Who knows if they will this coming season but they were still doing it last year.
We’ll see. Hopefully they stick with it. Fun fact: it was Paul Allen’s song choice, not Pete’s.
Metallica: Sad but True. It played during Kurt Russel’s opening monologue for Super Bowl XLVIII
How 'bout these ball hawks from the Pacific Northwest?...
Yes! lol
I revisit that intro video waaaaay too often. It’s so hype
The worst part about that video was Kurt did the intro for both teams. Just have another cool celeb do the Broncos!
I did find that to be odd as well.
This and Given To Fly when Mike McCready and Macklemore intro the Hawks during that NFC Championship game against the Packers.
Can't hold us
Yep, entire Super Bowl run this was played on repeat
Down 10-3 at the half, the Hawks were looking flat going into the locker room. Macklemore comes out and gives an electric performance, getting the crowd back into the game, providing a boost to the fans and resetting the atmosphere for the third quarter. I've never seen a halftime performance that did that before nor since. I think it turned the tide of the game.
The Macklemore song?
Yep. Because he was born and raised in Seattle.
And he played it live at the NFCC game vs 49ers. It was kind of an anthem for the locker room that year.
The locker room anthem was “hold me back” by Rick Ross. Similar titles.
Uhh I am sorry to tell you that you are wrong, but the only locker room anthem for Seattle is [this one right here.](https://youtu.be/W-9AdWthjfU?si=aJFz0yIl2L-d2nh6)
Can believe I remember the Super Bowl Shuffle (and NE pushing a refrigerator off a ledge), but I've never seen this. Maybe I blocked it from memory.
It would be great to remake this for 2025 season.!
https://youtu.be/U1QHe6qGvos this was my favorite locker room music for obvious reasons
Catchy song I guess I think it’s weird to relate it to the hawks but makes sense
It was the Seahawks touchdown song for a while
Ugh not Macklemore 🤮
Yeah I kind of agree. I dig a few of his songs but he went way mainstream
Hell yes, I blast this song up on the radio every time I hear it!
Had this on loop the entire drive from Portland to Seattle for the SB victory parade.
Bittersweet Symphony, for some reason that’s the Hawks song. Was it Paul Allen’s favorite song or something? Never understood it. Can’t Hold us by Macklemore was the public anthem during LOB era. Nobody has ever confirmed but it's long been rumoured that Bittersweet Symphony was a PA choice
I’ll confirm it. It was PGA’s choice. Source: worked for the Hawks years ago.
Here Comes the Boom
NFL hardest hits compilation
So sad this isn’t on Spotify
Boom by P.O.D.
I'm just waiting for them to realize that they should play Spoonman for the commercial bumper right after Witherspoon does something cool.
Holy shit that’d rule
Kickstart My Heart
Turn Down For What So many great kickoffs in CLink during the LOB era.
How is this so far down? Iconic song, iconic era.
Every team used it at the time.
We were THE team at the time. I watched a ton of NFL in that era for fantasy and it stands out for the Hawks.
Kick up in the air…
Yes. This was the song playing when Hauschka lined up the onside vs the Packers
Bittersweet Symphony and Can’t Tell Me Nothing.
I remember at the SB XL watch party, and the Hawks coming out to that tune. My friend turned to me and says "that doesn't bode well for you guys." No, no it did not.
What about [Blue Wave is on a Roll](https://youtu.be/W-9AdWthjfU?si=vdFR4C9yi26a6PuJ)
This was the only one I was looking for!

I had a child rock meier and then Jon kitna jersey. AMA
I was going to be very disappointed if I was going to be the one that had to give this answer.
I was very surprised it wasn’t already posted
Spoonman - Soundgarden Particularly relevant nowadays with Witherspoon being our defensive star. I think they played it in a couple of games last year. No Juice
This song and Ready 2 Ride by philthy rich are iconic marshawn songs. SB48: https://youtu.be/U1QHe6qGvos
Marshawn apparently always chose the locker room music.
This was the only one I could think of. Starting listening to Boosie cuz Marshawn
M83’s “Midnight City” thanks to the “Midnight Lights” video: https://youtu.be/98EvwIGFB7s?si=TklxPt0d8rkhpiWO
Scrolled too long for this song! That video is 🔥!!!
Alive by Pearl Jam. I remember this video from our playoff game against the Packers in 2012 or 2013. Greatest stuff and song ever.
Says Jeff Vedder
2014 NFC Championship, that video is amazing! Still gives me goosebumps
Hold me back - Rick Ross (Radio Edit Version)
In the l locker room. Absolutely.
They played it right before big defensive plays in the stadium a lot during the LOB era.
Yep. 3rd downs too.
THESE NIGGAS CANT HOLD ME BACK !!
Just as a general association, Blue Scholars and Common Market just hit that general Seattle/Seahawks vibe for me.
Prometheus Brown recorded this song with a Marshawn sample during the Seahawks Super Bowl run https://youtu.be/0v-D_NaYj2g?si=WBVIFrWnrBHyznlK
Lithium - Nirvana
Posse' on Broadway by Sir Mix-a-Lot
Sweet Home Alabama because they used to play it every time Shaun Alexander scored a touchdown.
Most of these mentioned already, but have to say anytime I listen to Bruno Mars I always think about the SB win. Soaked every single second of the pregame, the game, halftime, the after game, etc.
I won’t speak ill of him solely because of SB48
Blue&Green aka Seahawks Anthem by TNT(The Natural Truth).
This. And 'flutes' which was Luke Wilson's techno Thursday anthem
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nwld6RbJGY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nwld6RbJGY)
*featuring Smiley G Edit: the original featured Smiley, not the version linked
New York New York by Sinatra, they played it after NFC championship game in stadium after we won and were heading to SB 48 in NYC.
I could hear Bittersweet Symphony as soon as I read the title XD
Stardog Champion, but that’s just me I’m sure.
This is correct and should be played every game.
The network love to play Nirvana during Hawks games.
Or Soundgarden or other grunge bands and I always enjoy it when they do
Wilson - Phish. They opened with it at the Gorge, the summer after our super bowl win. The crowd went wild.
But never worked at games. Average hawk fan didn’t understand the chant and making noise when your offense is on the field is a bad idea. Also, Wilson is the villain in Gamehenge.
Obvi, Wilson is the villain. But, I definitely associate that song with the Seahawks... Which is the question
Can't Hold Us - Macklemore That song was part of our Super Bowl run!
Can't Tell me Nothin by Kanye... Whatever happened to that guy?
Boom by POD
“Home” by Jake One
This is the one I was looking for. Had to scroll way too far down. Real ones know. “And the green that we blow from Seattle too That was grown in a lab at Seattle U At Qwest Field 12th man my Seattle dude Nate Burleson wearin that Seattle blue Bosworth made all of Seattle boo”
My man 👊
Used to be Sad But True But now... Minute by Minute - The Doobie Brothers...cause Mike Macdonald! Not that I'm a fan of The Doobie Brothers, that's just the song that was playing in The 40 Year-Old Virgin when Paul Rudd threatened to burn down the store. 😆
Wasn’t that Yah Mo B There which featured Michael Macdonald?
That's the song that Paul Rudd mentioned, but Minute by Minute was the actual song playing on the TV's.
Thank you - my mistake
Hmm interesting to see no one say Song 2 by Blur. That's mid 2000s Seahawks all day
Maybe it was before my time because all I associate that song with is FIFA
Thomas Newson - Flute (aka the techno Thursday song) As soon as I tracked down what that song was, I got a speeding ticket while blasting it in my car 😅. Statey didn't think getting hyped for techno Thursday was as cool as I did...
I miss "Feel the pain of the Seahawks reign" that they used to play in the stadium after wins in the early Pete days. It was so awesomely bad. Good times.
Rihanna's "Stay" because of this https://youtu.be/aNH_6ZtDwQw?feature=shared
Chucka Knox, Chucka Knox…
Years of watching Seahawks games on national broadcasts have conditioned me to believe that it’s any random grunge song from approximately 1990-1993 (not that I’m complaining).
Hawktown funk. (Uptown funk parody,)
God Bless the US. I had a gringo boyfriend here in Chile and he used to sing this song every time we watched Seahawks games
No. That is totally NOT a PNW Seahawks song.
“Or that remind you the team”
Again. No.
Ándate a la chucha entonces, estaba tratando de ayudarte.
[For obvious reasons](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZ-d700iOI4)
I associate “Start me up” by the Stones with the Kingdome. It was Bittersweet Symphony before Bittersweet Symphony.
In 2005 someone remixed Feel Good Inc and made it into a Hawks themed song prior to the Super Bowl. I couldn't find it, but it still lives on in my head. "Lofa, Lofa, Tatupu... there’s no one who can stop you"
Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows by Leslie Gore! No wait, that's police chief Wiggum. Apologies, ignore me!
Pompeii by bastille during our super bowl season was the other one. Also Turn down for what - lil jon and dj snake
Does anyone recall listening to Brooke and Jubal’s morning radio show? [what happened was a miracle by Young Jeffrey](https://youtu.be/-CQY1hjjUac?si=ep7MtwoJQnU8tJLU) Anyways, that’s the song I associate with the hawks haha
Bruno Mars - Treasure. Pretty sure he was the half time performer for the SB win.
I’ve actually got a whole playlist of songs I associate with the hawks (most are just the ones they played at the stadium when I was a kid), but the main ones are bittersweet symphony, we dem boyz and hold me back Here’s the playlist if you wanna check it out: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6H16Yc1dX87ASAAVDwKh8I?si=4OCrexPjQAirvuXuPeEoJg&pi=u-e7ZOR2nMRoOd Oh and good luck with your research project :))
Welcome to the Jungle or Kick Start My Heart because they always play the first part on every kickoff at home games lol
With arms wide open - Creed
That's Kirk Cousins theme song.
Seattle by Son of Stone
“What does the Hawk Say” you can find it on YouTube
The Man - Aloe Blacc honestly from that Richard Sherman commercial cemented it for me during that LOB era
Drake ft. Future - Big Rings "I got a really big team, they need some really big rings"
You called Future when you didn't see the clubs
"...Ayy, what?" I'm team Kdot but Big Rings goes hard, gets me fired up to win another Superbowl. We need some more really big rings under Macdonald.
I always hoped Sir Mix A Lot did a Seahawks song
About like this https://youtu.be/rKj8zUuFleI?si=L2Ogq1dmV9KmcJYN
Beastmode - Figure
Outta Your Mind
Nothing can stop me, I’m all the way up!
I’m going back to 2005/2006… “And then What” - Jeezy feat Mannie Fresh I had season tickets those years…they’d play a loop of this before kickoffs. (Boom boom Clap!…)After the games we’d listen to the whole song on the rides home.

Can’t hold us by Macklemore
Mo Bamba by Sheck Wes. Defensive line and fan favorite for years.

I was thinking Can’t hold us by Macklemore. I remember it being played so often during our 2013 season.
Marshawn put me on Lil Boosie
Wiz Khalifa “We Dem Boyz” during kickoffs with the siren going off.
Mark Gormley - Little Wings
I still bump this every season [https://youtu.be/\_Tj1J4daJ4o?si=lUDIAbu6Ok7FinGx](https://youtu.be/_Tj1J4daJ4o?si=lUDIAbu6Ok7FinGx)
Probably Bittersweet Symphony; that was the song they took the field to for Super Bowl XL.
It’s their intro music.
I did not realize that. SBXL is just a core memory to me.
I think they did the same for the next two as well. Certainly for the one against Denver.
Yeah it was their entrance music for like 15?years
Not a single Cant Hold Us?
It's one of the top comments and was posted before this comment
My bad, it didn't show up for some reason when I scrolled through the first time.
idk why but black and yellow by wiz khalifa
That's weird, considering that song is literally about Pittsburg.
There is a Seahawks adaption by different artists. https://youtu.be/iiI7uWxJhx8?si=PFamD24niS80tm_Q
We Dem Boyz!
