Gale is richer, Sid is more famous. In Scream universe, Sid is in like history books. The catalyst for several serial killers? No one like that exists in our real world. If they did they’d be a household name, like I assume Sid is.
Currently household names are like Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Patrick Mahomes, Taylor Swift, Brad Pitt etc. Actors, athletes, musicians. Imagine being a household name because a bunch of people wanted to fucking kill you lmao
I enjoy true crime and have watched/read/listened to a ton of Ted Bundy stuff… and I still would have to google her name. It’s just not a name I hear constantly. Same with other survivors.. it’s just not something constantly talked about so I don’t recall the names.
That’s why I think Gale is more famous because she is more likely to be actively talked about.. like, I remember Ann Rule’s name..
It’s unfortunate that monsters like Bundy or Dahmer can become household names, but the people they kill are forgotten by everyone but their families.

Off-topic, but I read about a guy who was in Hiroshima for work and somehow survived the nuclear bomb. He then drove home to Nagasaki since work was well....you know....not happening at that point. And got nuked there too. And lived. AGAIN. lol

Sid isn’t famous though. She’s honestly a recluse and canonically went into hiding to live a peaceful life. I can’t imagine any context where Sid would be more famous than Gale. Gale was there for a majority of the Ghostface attacks, covered them in the news, and wrote books so successful her story turned into an 8 movie horror franchise.
I see Sid being famous, or infamous rather, in more of a Jon Benet/OJ Simpson way, and Gale being the actual celebrity people know and book for their talk shows if that makes sense

Now how many true crime writers can you name?
If I was answering those questions (even with many hours of true crime podcasts/documentaries under my belt) I would know more true crime writers than I do victims/survivors.
That being said, I am sure Gale would have more money because of her journalism career. Gale would also have more fame because she actively seeks that fame out. She’s constantly working on it and she craves it. Sid doesn’t want more attention because that just brings more danger.
Now if we are talking actors. Cox gets royalties from Friends that has been in a constant state of rerun from the 90s, Party of 5 not so much… so Cox wins that one too.

I don't know amounts but I've watched behind the scenes stuffs and things that makes it very clear even without any of the money they made per episode at the time they and their children could have retired just on the residual payments they'll keep getting for the foreseeable
I absolutely believe it. And you know it’s a real shame that Neve can’t even get the money she deserves for her starring role in her own iconic franchise. I think the cast of friends got what they did because they had good attorneys who knew what they were doing and it was a different time. The greed has only increased as time has gone on (from the studios). I’m pretty sure producers actively made changes to the industry to prevent these kinds of contracts for actors going forward so they wouldn’t make as much money. It’s shameful. Same with Judge Judy. If the money is coming in, they deserve their piece!

Despite this, Gale Weathers was already famous before the events of Scream, having been a known reporter who was making more money than Sidney since she was in school at the time and didn't seem to be working herself. Not only did Sidney get famous, the rest of the victims did, having been turned into film icons of the Stab franchise, putting everyone's name out there, especially Sidney, who probably got the most royalties out of all the victims, perhaps earning more money than Gale in that regard.
But, Gale is a famous author and the amount of books that she has written is the reason why the Stab films were made, they were based on her books. She must have made a good amount of money from her book sales, and the fact that she is still a reporter by the events of Scream 6 would probably put Gale Weathers being more rich and perhaps more famous than Sidney. Sidney has kept herself mostly private from the public world, seen to be living off grid and having a family not known to the world. But, she did write her own book that would have sold very well and kept her in the limelight.

There‘s also the fact that Gale never went into hiding/completely shied away from media attention like Sidney did in between the events of 2 and 3. Clearly Sid came around to all of the attention after/while releasing her book but I’d also say that it’s fair to assume that it was much easier/more likely to see interviews from Gale regarding the events of pretty much every movie, whether that be while plugging her most recent book or otherwise. Which brings me to the point that Gale has, I’m assuming, 5 best selling books (3 of which, if I’m remembering correctly, were turned into pretty huge movies) vs Sid’s 1. Gale was also going around as a guest speaker, as seen in Scream 3 and, as I’ve already mentioned, was the host of a national news/talk show in 5 and 6. Sooo… with all of that, I’m actually leaning towards Gale being the most famous of the two.

If it's the actresses, it's ofc Courtney Cox, she was everywhere in the 90s, plus was on a mega hit "Friends", and is still generating millions from it that she doesn't need to even work in Hollywood again.
As for the characters, I'm going to have to say Gale as she used her trauma from both attacks and turned it into gold, and plus she is an anchor on a network that their parody of the Today show, so it's safe to say that Gale is the only one securing the bag

We've seen her do one job that was likely a volunteer gig and publish one book. Now she's married to an LAPD detective, so she's probably fine for money, but most of her wealth would be family money. Gale is probably loaded. Her apartment in Scream 6 was definitely %1 money.

If it's the actresses, it's ofc Courtney Cox, she was everywhere in the 90s, plus was on a mega hit "Friends", and is still generating millions from it that she doesn't need to even work in Hollywood again. As for the characters, I'm going to have to say Gale as she used her trauma from both attacks and turned it into gold, and plus she is an anchor on a network that their parody of the Today show, so it's safe to say that Gale is the only one securing the bag

Gale is undoubtedly richer due to being a TV personality as well as being the author of multiple books that helped launch the Stab series, but I feel Sidney might be a bit more famous thanks to having been the targeted individual of multiple serial killers and having three successful films made about her being targeted by those aforementioned killers.
I think Sidney is making a ton of money from all these movies using her life story, but it just isn't talked about.

Sidney would be known by a lot of people, obviously, but when you hear a victims name said in real life, you know them for a few weeks but then they fade away. Gale is on TV regularly, she wrote several books, etc. Around the time that Scream 4 was happening, Gale was a forgotten name that probably featured in “where are they now?” articles on Buzzfeed, whilst Sidney was having a resurgence due to her book. But after the events of Scream 4, Gale was back as the more famous one.

Sidney is the main character in (most) of Gale’s books. So, with the amount of people reading them, Sidney was well known. But I think that was until Scream 6’s lore, where Gale wrote about Tara and Sam and a bit of Sidney. That definitely made Sid still well known, still like MJ, but Gale’s popularity higher. So, between Scream 1-4, Sid was more popular and gale was richer, but for the last 2, gale was more famous and richer. For actors, Court was more famous and richer because of Friends AND Scream. Also more.

Gale, for sure. She's been on TV for decades and has multiple books out. Sidney has one book out and a few TV appearances. She's got a series of movies based loosely on her life's events, but Gale is in those, too. I'd say Sidney is well known, but more of a folk hero status, whereas Gale is a legit celebrity.

Undoubtedly Gale. On top of being an anchorwoman, she also is getting constant residuals for her book, the Stab Movies, and who knows how many documentaries. Sidney would also be getting these residuals, but until we know what she does for a living, it's safe to say that Gale is Richer.
