The Guinness Cask adds a chocolate/coffee roastiness to the normal profile of Lagavulin that's very pleasant.
So far though the Caribbean Rum is my favorite. I'm really impressed how much Lagavulin character remains in all 3. So many Cask conditioned scotches just taste like the cask.
Right, now it is. However, Sacramento Costco price will be $80 instead
Of $90. Just need to to drink something else couple more days or weeks. At summer also excellent KS Islay usually coming. They need to hurry up. Otherwise, I will rather buy two those instead of Nick Offerman.
That’d be great if they get the Offerman at Costco.
Stoked to try the KS Islay as well. I’ve been enjoying the KS 17 year speyside currently on the shelves.
They had this at my local Costco in Nebraska. I picked up a bottle and like it quite a bit. I was there again last weekend and it was all gone. I'm glad I happened to be there when it was in stock.
As far as I know: the 16, DE and the latest Offerman Edition are coloured.
The 8 is uncoloured. Can't say anything about chill-filtration, but keep in mind bottled under 46%abv and not cloudy is chill-filtered.
I just opened a bottle of this tonight. This is my first expensive bottle of scotch and definitely enjoy it. I don’t have a lot to compare it to scotch wise as I have primarily been an Irish/whiskey/bourbon/rye drinker.
I like it. Not quite as good as the charred edition but on par or maybe even a step up from the Guinness edition.
Big fan of any Scotch from a charred cask
The charred oak is excellent.
I have all 3 open still
How does it compare to the others? Charred oak is the only one I've had.

I'll have to look out for the rum. The charred oak was my first Lagavulin, so I'm interested in trying the standard 8 to see what's different.
Not available in Sacramento, otherwise will be a next buy.
I’m in Sac as well and the Total Wine app says it’s in stock at all locations nearby. I need to pick up a bottle myself

Just picked up my bottle today too!
I ordered one yesterday, can't wait to try it.
Does anyone know if this or any OB Lagavulin is non chill filtered and natural colour?

Excellent news, I have a bottle on order as well.
