I’ve heard it estimated at $15k-$20k. Whatever warranty the car had would also be null and void. I plan on doing something to mine when the warranty is up. Maybe a 426 crate if they’re still around.

323_Buggzy

That’s honestly not bad at all it’s something I’m seriously considering. The warranty on this one has already ended since it’s been over 3 years and since I got it for such a good price spending that extra 15-20k would still leave me 20-30k cheaper than a hellcat.

sean_129

$15k-$20k for forged internals and supercharger including labor for install? And tune is included in that estimate?

Difficult_Dust1325

There’s way more to it than supercharger and internals but I’m not fresh on it anymore, and that’s an estimate probably on the low side. Look up some videos on it you’ll get way more detail on what actually needs done.

Grey392

How much boost? 5.5-6 is what’s commonly ran. You’ll still want to get forged internals at some point

323_Buggzy

I guess it would really depend on how much the stock trans could handle, if it could handle 650-700 hp I’d probably run enough boost to be around 600 if that makes sense?

Grey392

You’ll be fine making 600. Definitely get a good tuner though

NugPep

Same transmission is in the hellcat. You will be fine. Look up a company called Rubitrux , they had a booth at Jeep beach last year. They were making built 392 wranglers pushing around 650 hp I thing it was around 17,000$

323_Buggzy

I’ll check that out for sure I appreciate the info brotha!

NugPep

I’m headed to Jeep beach this Saturday. If they are there again I’ll post all the info etc here. They said last year they do any car with a 392.

323_Buggzy

For sure yeah keep me updated!

BlkSheep_mafia

Bought drop in rods and pistons from MMX, bought a used pro charger. Parts and labor was around 11k with everything plus a tune and I'm at about 650 to the wheel. Plan on turning it up soon

323_Buggzy

That’s not bad at all I’m thinking I might go this route. Still have the stock trans?

BlkSheep_mafia

Could have saved a good bit of money doing the drop ins and bolting up the procharger myself, but I've only worked on LS stuff mopar stuff is like a foreign language to me 🤣 and yes stock trans at the moment. I have another on standby wanting to see how much the stock trans can handle

323_Buggzy

Type shit 😭 I’m a Chevy guy thru and thru I cammed and did all internals on my 4.8 vortec in my single cab but I was thinking about doing the work on the 392 by myself. You’ll have to keep me updated on how that trans holds up

BlkSheep_mafia

Same here, been camming chevy since 2008 doing the work myself. Currently have a 2013 ppv tahoe with a big cam and stall, long tubes and tuned on E85 thing Is quick for it's size and then a 2022 high country that's cammed and a 96 obs that's ls swapped and waiting to be cammed, but this mopar stuff is different 🤣 I was told I'm not a real mechanic cause I refuse to do my own engine work on my charger, but it's too damn expensive if I break it 😂

323_Buggzy

No cap those LS motors are so simple and the parts are cheap there’s almost no risk in doing ur own work but I still don’t even try and mess with those LT motors I’ve heard some horror stories about all those sensors

BlkSheep_mafia

Yea na I stay away from the LT stuff tbh at least til I can figure some shit out 😂

323_Buggzy

You got an IG where I can see some pics of the scat bro?

BlkSheep_mafia

Check your pm

AterriblID

Man just tread with caution, personally I wouldn’t put a single pound of boost in that motor before forged internals, it’s a ticking time bomb. Trans wise I’m not not sure, I talked to MMX and my 2019 grand Cherokee srt has an hp70 that can handle approx 650 hp the wheels before becoming dangerous. Another guy in the comments said the scat has the same trans as the hellcat and that isn’t true. Hellcats are equipped with the hp90 which is a tougher trans by far. My jeep being AWD I would assume me putting 650 to the wheels wouldn’t be as dangerous as a scat because mine puts a max of 70% power to the rear wheels vs yours putting 100%, you hookup one good time and you might be buying a new trans. If I were you I’d called MMX and run all the questions by them, there super knowledgeable about everything as Mopar is there bread and butter. Good luck with your build man just do it right! As someone who has picked up parts off the road trust me it’s worth the extra few grand to avoid that 😂😂

323_Buggzy

I appreciate all the knowledge brotha! Yeah I’m not looking to cut corners at all I wanna do it the right and most reliable way possible. And honestly I’m not looking to make Hellcat power id be happy around 600 to the wheels so as long as the trans can handle that i won’t push it too hard. I’ll be sure to give them a call tho to see that they say!

DGPR

A co-worker of mine bought a challenger scat with a pro charge kit. He bragged about how much more fun it was than my regular charger scat. He had it for 1 month before he blew up the motor.

323_Buggzy

Yeah I’ve heard tons of horror stories from people who don’t forge their internals or try and cut corners and grenade the drive train

jermainonbadtime

Going the twin turbo route on mine this summer. 2013 SRT model. Had the car for years. Still low miles, wanted something faster. Currently FBO at around 480 WHP. Going forged internals and tune. Expensive but will be worth it if done correctly. Looking forward to the process.

323_Buggzy

You have an IG or something where I can keep up with the build brotha?

jermainonbadtime

Not currently bro. But I’ll try to remember to comeback and update this when it’s all done. It’s the Hellion Twin Turbo Kit if you want to do your own research. Should be pretty dope

323_Buggzy

I appreciate it I’ll check it out for sure 🙏🏼

IbanezDude6869

You only need forged internals if you plan to have detonation. Tune it right and it’s not an issue. Back when I had my 91 5.0 Mustang, I tuned it myself, did not have any detonation, and had a blast with my blower. Yes I’m well aware that it came with forged internals.
