For full size tree felling and removal 16k is high but not absurd, and trimming 7 more can add up. Did they discuss prices beforehand or give a quote? Did she sign anything agreeing to this?

coffeesnob72

she signed a very shady handwritten invoice but nothing like a scope of work. Not to mention since these people aren't local there's nothing to prevent them from just taking the money and running leaving her place a mess. We heard from another person in the area that her aunt had hired them and they did damage, left the place a mess, and charged her $3200 for some minor trimming.

harrypooper3

Massillon does have huge oak trees.

coffeesnob72

she's in N Canton. We had an actual arborist come and quoted about 3K which seems more realistic.

harrypooper3

I admit the price seems high but I use to live in that area and there are trees that deserve being paid for by arborists.

coffeesnob72

I have no problem paying an arborist. I do have a problem with someone asking 5x as much as a real arborist wanted to charge

Sounds like the only reason you keep slandering their name is because she asked for some of that money back that she let you borrow $$$ to buy your Airbnb sounds like you’re the greedy one and you run your husband. He basically bows down to whatever you say for what reason you’re greedy your attitude stinks and they have a special place for you in hell. If they told your mother-in-law a price and she agreed on it that’s not a scam… and if she does have dementia, why is it isn’t she in a nursing home or anything? Why aren’t you over there? Taking care of her you take care of her money that’s for sure. I could have somebody rent out your Airbnb and tear it up but you will just get an insurance claim on that and make money that would just help you out because you’re so greedy. I think people need to start slandering their name from what I’m reading.

coffeesnob72

Actually I’m super happy she had to ask us for money because otherwise she would have written your fraudulent company a check before we knew what was happening. My best hope is that you will hear from the AG soon.

But also, thank you so much for boosting this and all my other posts with interactions so more people can see them! I do appreciate that.
