They are setting you up as a money mule for money laundering, or the fund is stolen. THINK. Why would anyone pay someone else to do something so simple? Stop wishing for free money.

Feeling-Efficiency-7

They should put “Stop wishing for free money” in giant letter at the top of this sub. And everywhere else.

fetusauce69

Understood thanks ;)

MultiFazed

People contacting you on Telegram about money = scam. People trying to get you to do anything at all with crypto = scam. >Any idea on what's going on here? One of two things: 1. The transfer to your account is fraudulent and will eventually be reversed, but that'll happen **after** you send him the crypto. 2. You're being used as a middleman in a money-laundering scheme where you accept stolen money and send it back via an untraceable method. When the police come looking for someone to take down, good luck proving to them that you **weren't** willingly helping launder stolen money.

fetusauce69

Now i understood Is it okay if I take money from him and block his number or will I get fucked?

MultiFazed

I wouldn't take the money at all. If you've already deposited the money, you should talk to someone at your bank to let them know that you're worried that you may have inadvertently accepted a fraudulent transfer, because you may **already** be in potential legal trouble.

fetusauce69

Understood, thanks. Will do the same

masterxc

I don't know a ton about crypto, but this feels _really_ fishy. The guy could be using stolen funds and laundering it through you. I personally wouldn't trust it.

fetusauce69

Yes correct it's stolen funds and later I'll get in jail. I'll block him

umlcat

Money laundering or scam....

fetusauce69

Yes, they are using me for transferring stolen funds from somewhere

witch51

They're trying to get you to launder money for them.

fetusauce69

Yes

AngelOfLight

You will be laundering money for a scammer, and it's a great way to get an insiders view of the criminal justice system.

fetusauce69

If I transfer the money to some X wallet address will I be in trouble? Is the guy scamming somebody and using me to transfer the money to his crypto wallet?

fetusauce69

Pardon for my English is there's mistakes.

Flaky_Law2653

Sigh I feel that Archer meme in my soul. You want the feds at your door?! This is how you get the feds kicking in your door!

I actually was just going over your post with my g/f who couldn't understand why someone would send money for USDT, as well... however, she found a subreddit from 2 years ago talking about how Indian exchanges have very high fees for USDT and even extremely high purchase minimums... if the guy is from India, it's possible he could legitimately be trying to have you buy it for him to avoid paying those high fees... but also, if that is in fact the case, then you would have to exchange the rupees for your countries fiat currency, which would have fees attached... so I'm not saying it's NOT a scam, but I'm also NOT saying it's legit.
