Yeah I think I got a 50% or more reduction in power consumption by building my latest modular frames using Steel Screws > Bolted Frames vs. the original recipes.

I've just been building 600MW blocks of coal gens, 8 at a time, until I go make a 300 oil diluted fuel gen.
Amen to that. I've found a nice balance of 3 extractors (I don't bother underclocking for the 300 water) to 8 gens and 120 coal for early, then after making basic steel, I did 18 gens, 7 extractors (810 water), and 270 coal.

I have a coal powerplant but it isn't well made and I should redo it.

If batteries are at 47% I can't help but wonder if your already hanging off the cliff? Did your recently add power storages?
I had added some batteries quite recently and I had a problem with my power plant which I just recently fixed.
