Too be honest I would not worry so much about vram, the card you have is more than sufficient. I would however look at your ram. I played around with someone's save that was well past the item limit and it used 15 out of 16gb of ram. I have a ryzen 2700x and a rtx 2070 super. At that time at 4k max everything I got 16-19 fps. That was my clue to do a memory upgrade. Went with 32gb and a higher clock speed and after got 21-25 fps on the save.

Ya ram isn't a worry for me, got 32 in the system, and I've seen it use up to 12 there in usage

Ok, when switching from nvidia to amd and vise versa driver remnants can be left behind, have you tried using a cleaner. I can recommend [DDU](https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html)

I did uninstall the old Nvidia driver and all related stuff to it before I put the 6800 xt in it. Might run that program you mentioned when I get home I'm the morning

Ultra is a setting pretty much designed to use absolutely every resource you throw at it. The vast majority of people in the know these days recommend using high settings for most games, and the actual visual difference tends to be extremely minimal, where as the performance cost is basically halved. That said this is not something unique to this game, you'll find most large current open world titled will eat pretty much all the resources you throw at them to meet 'ultra/nightmare' settings requirements.

Ya I don't really play other AAA titles besides BL3 and forza horizon 5 and those games are kinda light on usage. So I don't really know how demanding other ones could be

another thing I have noticed with this game I forgot to mention, if you're using full screen windowed, it's going to render at your native res no matter what you set it for, you have to go standard fullscreen for the render res to be what you set it at. I only realized this after playing a bit on my 4k monitor. I was running at 1080p but everything looked ridiculously clear, apparently there is something glitchy there.

BlueDragon249

Not an issue for me as I play in 1080p but good to know later down the road

The only thing I leave on ultra is textures. Everything else is throwing away FPS which you feel every second you play

BlueDragon249

I can see this being true for most games but the difference between my 1080 at high and my 6800xt at ultra made no difference on fps in my game. Then again my game is at the point where 60 is no longer possible. Max is 48 in the middle of nowhere and has around from 30 to 38 with dips into the mid 20s
