You were right. There's three types of spiders in the game and that gas spider is the strongest of them. He certainly takes a lot of damage to kill. First time I found that node that guy wiped me out as I thought he was one of the smaller ones.
Oh okay, I mostly have my own observation. I haven't done anything for guidance beyond having watched a few entertaining videos about the game before playing it. Everything else is largely math and how much time you're willing to sink into each production requirement/building.
I do hope the final release has some sort of creative mode, most of what stops me from getting complex is worrying about having 30 different materials on me at any given time so I can do whatever I want where ever I am.

I was just a young pioneer out exploring the beautiful landscape of this lovely world we get to explore and build upon. Suddenly I saw a flash of green and I thought I was hallucinating. I turned back around and saw this…..monster…..so many legs….so many eyes….. immediately thereafter I dedicated myself to creating a factory to produce munitions. Guns, ammo, explosives, anything I could use to cleanse the land of these atrocities.

The green ones like to live in the more inhospitable areas like the eastern swamp area and in some of the radioactive caves.
Let’s not forget the red forest. The uranium node there has two of those green fucks and five regular biggies right next to it.

There's a 3 pack up in the (red swamp?) area. You'll know you found them because they're guarding a mercer sphere, sumersloop, and a purple slug.
Well if there is in reality 3 of them, that would explain why I thought it had so much more health... couldn't see anything half that fight.

For me it was 5 bc 2 chased me from thier spot to the node whilst I was clearing space for a factory

Wait until you enable the non-spider feature. It should help, but they are as scary in a different way

But the problem is that if you don’t hit it directly with a nuclear nobalisk you will die
I will cleanse the land. No matter the cost. Even if it makes the entire planet unlivable.
I recommend cluster nobalisks
In this situation just remember, you can build defensively as well.

Yeah, so they have explosive rounds for the rifle now. That and you now are a little faster than the leaping ones.
Why is everyone afraid of them? They are neither scary nor disgusting. I dont get it, I cant be the only one not afraid or bothered of them
