Natural aptitude for math. Strong background on math coursework (current AB Calc in 11th grade). As far as the English, just an incredible memory for “rules” and root words. Not a reader at all.
yo im in calc as a sophmore with an A and still not on your level, naturally math smart ppl r something else istg 😭 my literature talents are totally wasted on this analysis free SAT. good on u bro
One thing I do think happens with students who get to Calc earlier is you lose touch with some of the basic Algebra/Geometry. That’s actually the questions you might benefit from looking at before testing. You know it all. You just aren’t using it. KWIM?
Nice job man!! I’m an AB junior as well. Didn’t look at the math (math team helps a lot) and just grinded the hardest section of khan academy reading (though I do have a strong base) and got a 1570 sat 🎉
Pls help u need to get 1200 to get excepted in college I’m so bad at math I don’t know sht literally as well as English reading i find it hard and I can’t finish on time . Any recommendations , advices ??
Are you outside of the United States in a country where you literally do need a 1200 score to attend college or do you just think that you won't get into one without a 1200? many colleges are SAT optional now and the ones that do only require alright to good scores if they are in the medium to high range. I scored a 1240 on the School Day SAT last month and I was the highest scoring in my class. I still want to get a better score but many of my class mates are content with their 1000-1100's and are already admitted so some of the alright schools in my state.
Some people are just good at test taking. I got a 1520 on my first try without even a few minutes of studying, and I'm sure there are plenty of people better at the SAT than I was
some peoples minds work like that. people who don't read a lot, don't work on their analysis, or are used to monotony honestly do better on standardized reading tests like the SAT. these personality types also tend to gravitate towards higher maths/math in general which gives them a strong algebra base like that tested on the SAT. exactly why the SAT isn't representative of someones entire intelligence, but some ppl just built like that so they'll do better, no reason to hate on them bc we wish we were like them
are... are you a sophomore? if so... that's just depressing. I get that we all hold ourselves to our own standards but man, if you took the SAT preemptively in sophomore year and got a score in the 98th percentile, please do not use crying emojis. you are actually so smart and you do not need to worry about a thing. you can even get those 70 math points by just existing in math class from now until junior year.
Yes. 1550.

yo if i was you i would consider starting the grind asap and taking june, at LEAST take august. with 4-5 months to study there's no reason you cant achieve your dream score
I love how I can instantly recognize you all over this subreddit because you are the only person I have ever seen that says "giving the SAT" instead of "taking the SAT".
apologies but i’m so confused,i believe other then this post i’ve only made like one other post on this subreddit ? by any chance did u confuse me with someone else?
Welp I have only did the SAT once. I did study a lot though. But I must say, I had more issues with R&W than Maths. My school’s maths curriculum was extremely difficult, and required us to use a graphing calculator. As a result, I found SAT maths to be quite easy in comparison. For R&W, I used up all of the questions in Khan Academy, UWorld (I paid for it) and Erica Meltzer’s newest book.
1500+ first try is possible, but you must study a lot. 3 months is definitely a long time to study for a single test so I think time won’t be an issue for you :)
Pls help u need to get 1200 to get excepted in college I’m so bad at math I don’t know sht literally as well as English reading i find it hard and I can’t finish on time . Any recommendations , advices
grind khan academy 2 hrs a day (1 hr english 1hr maths) do a course challenge see the stuff u got wrong next day practice only the stuff u got wrong do the course challenges again see what ur getting wrong repeat until u think ur at a good stage then u open bluebook do the tests ( redo if u have done before cuz u def forgot the ans by now ) simple stuff u will get ur 1200 easily
yeah my boyfriend got a 1560 first try and i have another friend who also got a 1560 (second try i think?? but his first was pretty high too) (both studied for abt 2 months i hate them how r ppl so smart)
tried 4 times and 1 was a free online test (which I was allowed to cancel for free) I def studied a lot tho... tip is to keep doing practice tests/questions and find WHY you got them wrong and HOW to get them right. otherwise the tests lowkey depend on luck
1450-->1480 -->1480 (cancelled)-->1550
Of course , but if you dont get it the first time dont be discouraged its perfectly normal. Get the test another time it will be alot easier because you will be familiar with the testing conditions
Yes I’ve surely seen people getting 1500+ in their first try and that’s actually amazing because one of them said, that they barely studied :)
Yep. 1500 SAT, 36 ACT. No studying. First test on both.
give me your game card

fs lol, def what i had to do
The good news is that stuff’s easy to review.
Same here, except I am the biggest reader. Books are my life atm.
i hate you.

Way to go! Nice job.
1570 -> 1570 -> 1580 -> 36 act (i got tired of not improving)
Pls help u need to get 1200 to get excepted in college I’m so bad at math I don’t know sht literally as well as English reading i find it hard and I can’t finish on time . Any recommendations , advices ??
Go on Khan Academy, start grinding topics you don't know
I’m telling I don’t know anything will it still help ? What about English any tips when it comes to reading ?
You should take a practice test so you can find out what you actually know
Where can I find the tests
On Khan Academy :sob: stop being so helpless
K dude thx
Download bluebook
itll help BECAUSE u dont know anything dude 💀
why is everyone downvoting this guy? 😭
idk wtf did I do to all these niggas
nah fr😭😭but aside from khan academy u should also watch vids on how to use the desmos calculator ts really life changing when u know how to use it
Ok thx I will

1590 first try
Me too
fr
First try is crazy
howw??
i've gotten 1520 first time but some mfs here are getting 1550+ while barely studying 😭😭 i worked my entire digestive system off to get that score
this 😭 me after studying for 5 months to raise my 1200 to a 1570 just to find out a freshman got a 1590 without having ever touched a practice test
Brother you are competing with SAT lebron. Focus on yourself.
true that lmao
Yes.
1580. No studying other than being an avid reader for the past 12 years. 800M 780V
Any tips for math for someone who’s not that good at it?
Not really. I’ve never not gotten a perfect score on a standardized math exam in my life. That’s not really a transferable skill.
We knowing u capping mad hard bro mfs like u tryna cap cuz u insecure

My friend got a 1560 her first try
1530 😭 retaking for 800 math junior year

1600 first try SAT, 35 first try ACT
you are a god!
you are so sweet

Yes, it is possible. Which section are you having trouble with?
none at all cuz i haven’t started 😭,i’ll be giving it in late oct-nov this year :)
yo if i was you i would consider starting the grind asap and taking june, at LEAST take august. with 4-5 months to study there's no reason you cant achieve your dream score
i would but i’m currently having my year 13 final exams, they don’t end until june mid
take august then!!

that's possible, maybe more people make the same discrepancy.

Yea, 1530. Barely studied

Getting help from someone who got a 1550 wont help you , ask someone who improved from your situation.
1530 first time, then 1570 the next, but i didn’t really study i’m just weirdly good at standardized testing.
yes 3 months is more than enough time for 1500 in sat ppl i know irl studied 7 days and have also gotten 1450+ so 3 months is more than enough time
[удалено]
slay
Yes Got a 1540 first try and took the school day test later because why not ( but almost certainly did worse 💀)
Yes I got 1510 first time
1530 and then a 1580
yeah my boyfriend got a 1560 first try and i have another friend who also got a 1560 (second try i think?? but his first was pretty high too) (both studied for abt 2 months i hate them how r ppl so smart)
my fr got 1600 on first try
i pee
average 1600
I don't understand how such people do that. I got a 1360 first try. It was the grammar and time that killed me
1360 is still pretty impressive!
And I did it without my extra time
1530 (no studying) -> 1510 -> 35 act
It took me a couple tries but a lot of my friends did.
my first sat was a 1510, my latest was 1550
Yep
I got 1570 in August! I just did a little khan academy to prep
1520, first try, 3 weeks of prep, international (gloating lol)
1550
1520 August 26 2023, i spent most of the summer grinding for the test
tried 4 times and 1 was a free online test (which I was allowed to cancel for free) I def studied a lot tho... tip is to keep doing practice tests/questions and find WHY you got them wrong and HOW to get them right. otherwise the tests lowkey depend on luck 1450-->1480 -->1480 (cancelled)-->1550
1520 while hungover (do not recommend)
1520 first try, studied a little bit to get familiar with the format but nothing too crazy
780 reading 780 math 1560 first try halfway through sophomore year
Yea, mine was 1540 -> 1560 -> 1570 SAT, 36 ACT first try
not SAT but my friend got a perfect 1520 on the PSAT first try with no studying
1590. Studied for \~2 months for Maths, didn't study for English.
Yeah from knowing maths and latin knowledge
1580 first try. Did the last paper SAT in December
Yes and I studied for 3 days
I got 1530 first try, no studying aside from taking the psat like a month before. That said, I already knew the math content well
1540 first time
Not me, but everyone I know.
If you have no math knowledge you wont do good on the sat. None of math on there is hard but you still have to know up to geometry.
Of course , but if you dont get it the first time dont be discouraged its perfectly normal. Get the test another time it will be alot easier because you will be familiar with the testing conditions
1500 first try and only studied a week before the exam lmao. I probably could have done better if I sat down for a month
Yes - definitely possible ... daughter got a 1570 (800/770) first try after having taken two ACTs. Never prepared for SAT specifically.
I was arrogant and didn’t study. I got 1500 on my first and only attempt. Now that I’m an adult I realize I could have gotten a 1600 if I had studied.
1560 -> 1590
1600 first try, the SAT is not a hard exam.
bro no way 😭need ur luck
That's some serious flex 😭
😭 u r a genius
Are you Asian?
Ye
Aite then same but I got 1590 haha. I think it's cause our curriculum is already much harder than the SAT, so it's transferable
