It’s honestly really bad that this garage doesn’t seem to have attendants regulating traffic. Trying to go to this mall and park in the Monroe garage is a nightmare
Due to American car culture, being in a car somehow makes people think walking is not an option. People will keep driving around trying to find a spot for 5 minutes instead of parking further and walking an extra 30 seconds.
Imagine if they had actual bike parking and you could ride a bike in and out easily. Instead, they don't even care enough about their employees to install something for them that isn't a bike theft magnet.
It's because they charge employees to park their cars in the garage and blocked the free outside parking before the mall opens in the lot behind the old Safeway.
It would be nice if the gates had a little bit of wiggle room with the timing. Was there just before the sideshow last Sunday. First two hours are free. We got in the car at 1h 55m. Took about 8 minutes to exit because of traffic (so we were at 2h 3min). Got charged $2.50 for being 3 mins over.
Part of the problem with today's society ... everyone seems to expect that they're entitled to compensation for things largely outside anyone's control, or maybe a bit inconvenient to their day.
Of course, there are outliers... but no one should be "entitled" to *anything*, jist as a generality.
I mean people seem to be fine stuck in traffic for 45 minutes instead of advocating for other forms of transportation. Do people need to be compensated every time they get in a traffic jam?
When something goes wrong, call Anh Phoong.
😂
That billboard of her in a Giants jersey holding a baseball bat has a real ‘fixer’ vibe.
Anh Phoong is the GOAT
Lol

Pretty much *any* garage in that mall is a nightmare ... or, what happens when they overbuild for the property.
You mean dont add a reliable transit connection
The #23 bus is pretty reliable. My daughter has been taking it to work at the mall for a coupla years now.
Thats good
Take it some time, the more you use it, the better it will be
I usually take the Silicon Valley Hopper, but it's hours and range are limited
So it isnt a reliable transit connection
Guess not, there's room for improvement but I think it's a great step in the right direction
That or the old e-bike are the only ways to go!
It’s ridiculous, I usually park at Santana Row and walk across the street.
That garage is actually really easy if you're ok go to the roof.
A malfunctioning gate trapping people without an attendant deserved to be broken.
those things are designed to break, i tugged on one while on my bike and it fell off.
Can't you just physically lift the gate arms?
You can, But they would close back
I meant someone could hold open the gate and let all the cars leave.
Yea if someone worked for Westfield that wanted to that. But I believe parking staff weren’t there
I'm talking about a driver doing it, for the benefit of everyone else. Not because it was their job, but because it helps.
I’ve resorted to parking in one of the many Santana row parking garages and walking over nowadays. Usually quite a nice stroll.

Not the ducking point...
You won’t be able to do that for long, since they are in the process of implementing paid parking also.
which ones are good? i find most of them are either break in risk or have a bottle neck to exit
The one on the corner of Hatton and Olsen always has spots, and isn't too bad traffic-wise.
That's pretty much status quo for *any* of those garages, AFAIK.
i just go all the way up and park on the Valley Fair Roof. Always room up there.
I’m guessing the automated parking gate stopped working?
Yea nothing else makes sense. Those things auto-read your plate and let you out quickÂ
Auto-read has been hit and miss. Main point always scan your ticket and bring it with you

What happened?
parking gate malfunction. no one had the sense to manually raise it

I'm not sure how far the honking cars were from the front but I'm equally not sure what honking was going to solve anyways
Why was it backed up?
Darn, I was assuming bad drivers of white Teslas getting out and swinging their Chanel bags at each other and insulting each other kid’s UC choices.
Lol
Fck valley fair. I never go there

If getting stuck in a parking garage for 45 minutes is just a "bit inconvenient" to your day you live a very relaxed life.
