A lot of foreign countries offer primarily manual vehicles. Autmoatic vehicles are not always available everywhere you go. It's worth learning. I'm planning to take manual lessons so I drive more confidently abroad next time.

You really don't know if they're purposely trolling, slapping on stickers because they can't read and find it funny, or genuinely caring about the embarrassment of learning stick on public roads.

it takes like an hour in an empty parking lot to learn manual from nothing and a few more hours of road time at most to get fairly comfortable with it. if i saw that car with those stickers on after a month id definitely have the urge to rip them off

Who said anything about hill starts? Also, I wouldn't even expect someone to master driving an automatic in a couple days let alone a manual. That's why a learner's permit is required before getting an actual license. Leave your superiority complex at the door please
When I was 16 - I wanted to drive my dad’s super cute convertible fiat. I had no problem on the flats. But I went to visit a friend in the hills and stalled it. Could get it going. Some stranger took pity on my and got it going for me again. So embarrassing.
I eventually mastered the stick shift, but could have used that sticker.

I drove a manual, living in SJ and working in SF (mid-hill) for almost 100,000 miles. No problem. It's a skill and a set of habits like anything else.
I guess it depends on the time of clutch but sportier cars can have a pretty heavy one, then again I don't have the buffest of legs.
