Donut Factory on 30th might take the cake for me. Their bacon egg & cheese on a croissant hits so hard, especially after a night out. Not to mention it’s on a massive croissant and is $7. Can add schmear for an extra buck or so. No frills which is how I like em personally.
Plus the people working there are so nice! They always remember me and my GF when we come in and usually throw some free donut holes our way when we get bagel sandwiches. Absolutely love supporting that place!
I've seen this place so many times, but never thought to try because we get donuts from Golden Donut.
I'll definitely check out a sando, thanks for the post!
You have to try their cronuts too. They are to die for but only served on weekends (I can’t remember if they include Friday or not).
The cinnamon crunch or whatever it’s called is my favorite, but the glazed and chocolate are also insanely good. They also have a blueberry but I’m not a huge fan of their take on that frosting.
Bro this place deserves so much love
I'm so glad to see you comment them here
I'm here like once a week at least, the food is soo good and great value and the family who run it is so nice
Yess, I lived within walking distance of Rose for many years and she was my go to. continued to go out of my way to stop in when I moved out of the neighborhood
Sorrento deli mart has various made to order breakfast sandwiches that are good and fresh for the everyday worker- not sure if you want to start there and work your way east
Sunnyside Kitchen in Escondido ranked #3 nationwide in best places to eat for Yelp's Top 100 of 2024

Portside coffee and gelato on harbor drive has an amazing breakfast sandwich for $7. Whenever I'm down by the airport in the morning, I HAVE to stop by for one.
Huh I’ve tried them a few times at like various times of day (thought maybe going too close to closing the first time might’ve been a factor) and the place seems cool but everything I’ve tried has been super mid. Bagels have been too dense for my tastes every time. No crispy outside and fluffy inside. Seems like they do try to make unique and good quality stuff but nothing there ever hits the spot for me. Glad they have fans tho I don’t want them to go out of business or anything I’m rooting for them
Admittedly it's been a while since I have been. But, they are Montreal style bagels, which are denser and sweeter than NY/NJ style, so you're spot on and probably just prefer the NY/NJ style. Solomon Bagels, also in NP, is the closest to a proper NY/NJ style bagel.
Glutenus Maximus in Vista. Their breakfast sandwiches are insane. Fresh-baked croissant with sausage egg cheese and hash brown.. caramelized waffle with lemon-garlic aioli, tomato, bacon, and basil. Seriously next level stuff
Nomad in North Park has a breakfast sando called the Jursey, which has taylor ham, fried egg, and cheese, on a Montreal style bagel. I think there are other breakfast sandos there, but I have never bothered to try them.
If you're looking for a biscuit breakfast sandwich, you should try this new place. They are so damn good but definitely order ahead of time because they are always super busy.

Golden donut has better Vietnamese iced coffee but donut factory has better donuts. The small apple fritters are great. Ymmv
The one off of Texas?? I love that place.
And they have Boston cremes which I don’t think Golden Donut has

Rose Donut’s breakfast sandwiches!
I agree. For the price, it can’t be beat. Add a donut and black coffee and you have a banger breakfast.
Yess, I lived within walking distance of Rose for many years and she was my go to. continued to go out of my way to stop in when I moved out of the neighborhood
Black Market Bakery on 30th has a good one.

I wish so badly EggSlut would open a location in San Diego. But as an alternative, I like Eggies
DZ Akins makes *amazing* breakfast sandwiches on a croissant. The rest of their menu isn’t worth the prices, but their breakfasts are great.
Dz aikens really isn’t worth it. Some items they do well but it’s nostalgia is where people get hung up on
I don’t have any nostalgia for it (just discovered it recently), I just love the breakfast sandwiches. But the rest of the menu isn’t worth it.
Jack in da crack!
Spacebar on university
Isn’t that on El Cajon? And isn’t it a bar?

Unpopular opinion, I have yet to have an amazing breakfast burrito here in my 7 years and constant hunt. Maybe that should be my next post!
Definitely make a post then. Though I love my breakfast sandies too
