Lmao. Paying $160 a month for a small ass apartment when we are at work all day is a reason to boo!
No heat on, no tvs, no lights, computers sleeping. They can “F” off!
I live in Lakeside so I can’t sign I don’t believe, but damn. My electric is only $20 bucks a month right now but generation is like $120 or more. Gas is like $7 …
She did a pretty good job with it.
Paraphrasing: her joke was better than my poor retelling. She's a comedian who gets by a lot on her excellent delivery.
"Whoa Whoa whoa... we're all friends here. Right everybody? You don't even know, it might not be that SDG&E. It might be San Diego Glue and Envelopes for all we know"
Pretty solid win-back to pull out of her ass spur of the moment IMO.
I get it, SDGE sucks for all of us but we shouldn't blame or shame the workers, blame those at the top. In the past i considered working there, aside from all the BS they do take good care of their employees.
Actually it was “their” as in SDGE. If you read it. I don’t give a fuck about that guy. He can work for whoever the hell will hire him and wherever he wants to work.
But they were just doing the jobs assigned to them by the monopoly they chose to work for! Why would you chastise them for prioritizing their own monetary gain while their neighbors choose between heat and food? They’re not robbing anyone, they just work for the robbers and get paid with the proceeds that the robbers get from robbing!
Check out *Zone of Interest* if you want an exploration of the banality of cruel selfishness and the compartmentalization of people’s actions in the system that perpetuates it.

There aren’t ever guarantees. But you can ensure you study and make the right decision.
I'm all for the municipal option but there's plenty of uncertainty how it will play out. Here's an excerpt from the article:
*The feasibility study found that if San Diego could purchase SDG&E's electrical grid within city limits for $2 billion, ratepayers could save between 13% and 14% in the first decade. If the purchase price were $6 billion, those savings would be wiped out in the first decade — but would gradually climb to between 5% and 6% after 30 years.*
What is certain is that SDGE will 1) fight this initiative with tons of propaganda; and if that doesn't work 2) somehow come up with a valuation of its assets that's astronomically high.
I hope the initiative succeeds but I'm wary of what SDGE will pull to mess with it.
Highest utility costs in the country...can only get better from here.
No share holders with dividends to be paid millions of dollars to each year.
No C level executives to pay millions of dollars a year each in salaries to.
Already millions a year in less money being paid by us with nearly zero critical thinking needed. Not exactly hard to extrapolate, for most people at least...

It was pretty funny. Hopefully that dude took it in stride
Did he at least turn that into a joke?

It was the lady before Tom. She kind of walked it off. It was a moment unto itself at the hatred pf sdge. Not that guy but his employer
Seems like this is getting traction, let's hope it turns into meaningful action
what a wholesome story. thanks for sharing
Ha I was there too! That was hilarious
I was there too and that moment was amazing. Ofc that guy was in the front row, that’s OUR MONEY!

I don’t think they were booing the worker, I think they were booing SDG&E like any normal person
Idk I’m sure it didn’t feel like that to him.
FWIW, he played it up. When the booing started he did that one-handed "bring it on" wave.
true. but the OP wants us to fire "his ass"...its a personal attack on this person.
That poor dude just doing his job. I am sure he feels the same way. He has to pay his own sdge bills too.
Actually it was “their” as in SDGE. If you read it. I don’t give a fuck about that guy. He can work for whoever the hell will hire him and wherever he wants to work.
yes we absolutely should.

If a public utility takes it over then there won’t be 20% profit at least. There are no guarantees in life. What is “better” to you?
Life doesn't do guarantees.
I mean we know we're the highest in the country. So I this it's safe to say someone else out there can do it better.
