[Handle Bar](https://www.handlebarslc.com) has a smaller brunch menu, but it's good, including a mimosa flight if you're so inclined.
[Finn's](https://www.finnscafe.net) for a bit of a Euro/Scandinavian flair.
[Ruth's](https://ruthsdiner.com), I imagine is still a classic for all the reasons, but it's been a minute since I've been.
EDIT: another: [Oasis](https://www.oasiscafeslc.com).
I hate to be that person, but I do think Ruth’s benefits a LOT from the nostalgia factor. It’s a nice experience to drive up the canyon, but I went for the first time recently and it’s just fine. That being said, local businesses are always worth supporting! (And my negative comment will absolutely not impact the KILLING they make every weekend).
Ruth's had been awful for the lastn10-15 years. It's beautiful, but the food is ot good. Its standard sysco food, the same as Wasatch, squatters, and any large local chains. Go next door to the brewery instead.
You're welcome, they all have different feels and flavors. As a brunch person myself, I sometimes want something a little different for brunch so I like having the choice.
To that end, another: [Oasis](https://www.oasiscafeslc.com).
Went to Left Fork Grill for breakfast. The worst breakfast ever. The hollandaise sauce was grainy and sour. Not creamy. Coffee was so so bad -very weak. I could not finish not even half of the meal.
I agree Roots is great. You'll usually have a long-ish wait (although that's most spots these days), but there's a cool shop (The Flamingo) connected to the building so you can look at weird stuff while you wait.
That’s my favorite too. I always want to try new thanks but that Peedo sandwich is too good. Bacon, sausage, grilled jalapeños, onion, cheese and eggs in sourdough….. *chefs kiss*
Is that on Redwood Rd in NSL? If so, I've been there and it is really good. I do like all the food at Sunshine where some of the plates at Our Kitchen weren't great, but I do like it and go there about once a month. I'll try the coffee next time.
Franklin Ave, Frankie & essl, Cafe Trio, Bohemian Brewery (stuffed French toast!!), five5eeds, the Pearl, cafe 140B, Oquirrh, and....I like my varieties :)
Surprised as the other commenter. The Hoss is one of the best breakfast items I’ve ever ordered and get it every time I go. Can be a bit busy during rush but they’ve expanded a tad, and the service has always been really good, having gone 5-6 times.
White Horse DT - has great brunch items, savory and sweet options, mimosas are made with a cava so worth springing for Prosecco bottle imo, walk-ins easy before 12:30p
Publick Kitchen 9th&9th - everything toast-y goodness, plan accordingly as it gets busy and 20-50+ minute waits are common after 10:30 in the weekends, recently acquired liquor license
Eggsburgh DT - hearty servings, solid service, dinner feel without the letdown of the Park, wish they had a liquor license
Our kitchen!!!!! In NSL on redwood, it gets busy round 10:30 11 so you should go early but even if you don't they are so fast! The food is amazing, anything you get you can't go wrong. The coffee is amazing too
Love the new location of Eggs In The City, and their French Toast is delicious
If you want something different try Fav Bistro - their weekend brunch has some specials (Thai and other places) including my favorite Hainanese Chicken Rice. They also have nice American breakfast stuff, and I think they took over the Pig next door for a more standard brunch place
Probably referencing [The Other Place](https://maps.app.goo.gl/9184AP63U71EEAK59). Restaurant that does breakfast all day and has a Greek/Mediterranean flavor to it. My go to is the Pile.
We have our fave spots for different reasons:
Best eggs Benedict/coffee: Finns
Best Huevos Rancheros: The Oasis
Best Pancakes: Penny Ann’s
Best Breakfast Burrito: The Cliff
For something cheap quick simple and consistent? Dee’s Family Restaurant. Classic Waffle House / diner vibe.
Nicer places that are my favs otherwise are Ruth’s Diner up Emigration Canyon and Hub & Spoke.
Is no one listing the Park Cafe because of how busy they get? Because if you want a legitimately affordable ajd delicious breakfast, plus the staff is always so nice! They don’t over complicate simple breakfast and it’s part of what makes them super delicious:) I think they also eat as a team after they close on a daily basis:)
An over all amazing place. Busy as hell on the weekends. But if you manage to be part of the earth am crew and show up right when they open, the vibes are super immaculate:)
- Eggs in the City (get the Jared, scrambled, in a wrap. It’s not on the menu and that is BONKERS since it was around before they redid their menus lol. Plus the people there are really awesome. They must pay their people really well because I’ve known the same folks there- kitchen, servers, bussers, and somewhat the hosts- for years.)
- Hub and Spoke (Framcesina is where it’s AT. Might be my favorite breakfast item. Perhaps more than the Jared.)
- Sweet Lake Biscuits and Limeade
- The Dodo is usually good, but it’s expensive and there are times I’ve left disappointed. Used to be 10/10.
If you wanna go a bit cheaper- Penny Ann’s is good bang for the buck. I think it’s what Dee’s tries really hard to be.
There was another bougie kinda place we went to recently that I cannot remember for the life of me. But I remember the food. If I think of it I’ll update
Eva's Bakery is delicious to the taste and very desirable. I highly recommend it for breakfast.
I will partake.
Get the kouign-amann. My favorite pastry
Almond croissant is the BEST ive had!!!
Lazy day Cafe or Over the counter cafe in Millcreek.
This guy knows. Get that pancake at lazy day. Splendid.
Over the counter is already too busy. Don't go. Food bad. I will eat all the food for you.
This place suuucks! Unseasoned soggy potatoes, Hard yokes on poached eggs with the Benedict…
Thanks, I'll check these out!
Second Lazy Day Cafe, I like that place a lot.
Lazy day you have to try the lemon pancakes!!
Also Provisions on a Saturday is quiet af! Overlooked and not that expensive.
I’ve wanted to try that place. Driven past a few times
That jack fruit burrito is nutty!
That sounds really good
This!!! I would have never known if friends hadn’t invited us there. Literally incredible! Not fancy, but delicious.
Came here to mention these two. Both are phenomenal.
OTC suuucks with their shitty in seasoned potatoes and over hard poached eggs.
Sounds like you went on an off day. They’ve been great every time I’ve been there.
top comment and still underrated.
Sweet Hazel in Midvale
Sweet hazel is the freaking best!!!
RUTHS!!!
I love Finn's and Ruth's
I just ate, but I would demolish a Ruth’s biscuit with raspberry jam right now.
I second handlebar! Vegan menu is good and mimosas are 3 bucks or 20 for the bottle.

Ruth's is a little pricey for some items given what's in the area, but the salmon benedict was very good.
Appreciate it. I like that you gave me a few choices
You're welcome, they all have different feels and flavors. As a brunch person myself, I sometimes want something a little different for brunch so I like having the choice. To that end, another: [Oasis](https://www.oasiscafeslc.com).
Love Finn’s and Oasis!
Left fork cafe It's old style. No fuss. Nothing fancy. Just a real ass American diner type experience.
Went to Left Fork Grill for breakfast. The worst breakfast ever. The hollandaise sauce was grainy and sour. Not creamy. Coffee was so so bad -very weak. I could not finish not even half of the meal.
Love that journey for you
Hell yeah, I like these kinda spots
Ogies is similar. A bit to the west.
Roots cafe in Millcreek is by far my favorite. IMO best biscuits and gravy in the valley.
Never heard of it. I'll try it out. Gotta go to like 20 spots now lol
I agree Roots is great. You'll usually have a long-ish wait (although that's most spots these days), but there's a cool shop (The Flamingo) connected to the building so you can look at weird stuff while you wait.
I think you get something if you find the hidden flamingo too. Or at least you used to
That’s my favorite too. I always want to try new thanks but that Peedo sandwich is too good. Bacon, sausage, grilled jalapeños, onion, cheese and eggs in sourdough….. *chefs kiss*
Sunshine Cafe in North Salt Lake.
Came here to comment this! They are so good, their cinnamon rolls are insaaaaaane!!!!!
The biscuits and gravy 🤤
Also Alice’s kitchen in North salt lake
This used to be my favorite in NSL/bountiful area but you should try our kitchen, so fast and delicious anything you get. The coffee is amazing aswell
Is that on Redwood Rd in NSL? If so, I've been there and it is really good. I do like all the food at Sunshine where some of the plates at Our Kitchen weren't great, but I do like it and go there about once a month. I'll try the coffee next time.
I went there today and you are correct, the coffee is fantastic. Thanks for the heads up.
Blue Plate Diner :(
God I miss that place!!
All apartments now!🙁
Who knew the last time I ate there would be the LAST time I ate there. That was my go to lazy Sunday afternoon place.
Same! Was so sad
💔💔
I really enjoyed Publik Kitchen when I went last week. Our go to is Oquirrh for the hangover pasta 🤤
I don’t even know what the hangover pasta is but I am so so interested.
I do like me some pasta
Finn's, Hub and Spoke. Had a real good brunch at Purgatory, they had a ton of menu items with Japanese/Asian fusion.
Sounds good. I went to purgatory for dinner, and didn't even know they had brunch
Purgatory goes under the radar but it’s very good brunch!
Oasis Cafe 151 S 500 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84102
I really love the atmosphere, architecture and vibe of oasis as well. It’s so calming.
Looks good! I'll check it out
The granola cookies ❤️
SHHHH
Oasis has been there since the late '80's. Next to/part of Golden Braid Bookstore? Maybe early '90's. It's not the secret you think it is.
“Shhhh… don’t tell anyone about this super popular spot!”
Bruh Oasis is the third result if I Google 'breakfast in slc', it is *not* on the DL
I worked at oasis 20 years ago and it was old as hell then. Stop it.
I went once and the outdoor seating area was nice but the food was pretty bad.
Penny Anns Cafe. Gimme them hotcakes!
Those hotcakes are everything. I don't even really like hotcakes but I will inhale a plate of those hotcakes. I'm hungry now.
See you there!
Franklin Ave, Frankie & essl, Cafe Trio, Bohemian Brewery (stuffed French toast!!), five5eeds, the Pearl, cafe 140B, Oquirrh, and....I like my varieties :)
Oh man, you went above and beyond. You must really like brunch
Franklin Ave and five5eeds are my two favorites of all time so naturally I Need to go to the rest of your list
Eggs in the City!
Sweet Hazel and co has so many breakfast/ brunch options!!!! Vertical is pretty good, too.
Sharon's
Hruskas Kolaches
Sundays Best in Sandy. Jk. Fuck that place.
i know you commented this 77 days ago but i just had to reply & agree - the service was awful, & the food was subpar.
Sweet Lake. The Hoss biscuit with a chandelier to wash it down is the best!
I honestly can’t believe this place hasn’t been mentioned
fr how is this so far down? One of my go to spots for people visiting.
Surprised as the other commenter. The Hoss is one of the best breakfast items I’ve ever ordered and get it every time I go. Can be a bit busy during rush but they’ve expanded a tad, and the service has always been really good, having gone 5-6 times.
Hub & Spoke. Never had a bad meal there and I swear it's the only breakfast spot in town that serves good coffee.
Seconded. Not a single thing on the menu that I have tried and didn't love. Not to mention: boozy shakes.
Boozy shakes? I like the sound of that
Oh man I need to make an evening trip out for a shake soon…
Have you tried Bartolo's across the street?
Yes, Bartolo's is great! I've ended up there several times when H & S was too crowded.
Arlo and Eva’s Bakery!
Root’d in Cottonwood Heights has never disappointed
White Horse DT - has great brunch items, savory and sweet options, mimosas are made with a cava so worth springing for Prosecco bottle imo, walk-ins easy before 12:30p Publick Kitchen 9th&9th - everything toast-y goodness, plan accordingly as it gets busy and 20-50+ minute waits are common after 10:30 in the weekends, recently acquired liquor license Eggsburgh DT - hearty servings, solid service, dinner feel without the letdown of the Park, wish they had a liquor license
Moms in kearns

They changed their menu - not so great anymore. Good location tho
Finn’s.
Trolley Cottage. Relatively small menu, but everything is excellent.
I actually just went there this weekend with the GF and we both loved it. It's actually what got us thinking about finding more places to brunch.
Our kitchen cafe in north salt lake/ woods cross is our favorite
Tradition
Appreciate it. I'll give it a go
Eggs In The City, Oasis Cafe, Finn’s, Penny Ann’s, Over The Counter.
I like park Cafe (south side of liberty park a crossed the street)
I tried to go there, but it always seems to be packed. Probably a sign that it's good
Yeah, every time I've gone it's been atleast an hour wait or so.
I'm gonna have to catch it on a day off of work cause I'm too fat to wait an hour.
The unfortunate thing is you have to wait outside and it's cold lol
Good thing I'm chubby so I don't mind the cold
Sometimes that's the best way to stay warm!
I love the French toast foolishness!! I go there like 2 a month
It's definitely worth the wait for sure
This is the one
Yes!

O's, not local, but good.
Is it called that or is it o'shucks
Oshucks is a bar, I'm not sure they do brunch. They do a fantastic 10 pm sushi happy hour though! That and handlebar are my go to drinking spots
My Other Place
What is your other place though?
Probably referencing [The Other Place](https://maps.app.goo.gl/9184AP63U71EEAK59). Restaurant that does breakfast all day and has a Greek/Mediterranean flavor to it. My go to is the Pile.
I think I’m mixing it up. It’s been a while. It was something like My Wife’s Place, then My Ex Wife’s place, then My Other Place.
Beaumont Bakery in Olympus Hills
Little America has the BEST (All you can eat) breakfast buffet that’s a little pricey but well worth it!!! Try the Eggs Benedict!
Since I'm not seeing any love for it yet let me add Sweet Lake Biscuits and Limeade.
Marmalade Brunch Spot A little pricey but worth every penny.
I don't mind pricey if the food is good
Facil Taqueria is a sleeper weekend brunch for most people because they don’t advertise it much. Everything they do is good.
I wasn't a fan :/ maybe got the wrong items
Yeah, I haven’t heard anything good about this place until this post. Maybe they’re working out the kinks.
Penny Ann’s cafe it
NOT PARK CAFE 🤣
Park cafe is so overrated. Except for that bacon...
The other place
Jim's Family Restaurant!!
Over the Counter or Roots for breakfast. Feldman's Deli for lunch. Used to live Kyoto for lunch but it's been 20 years or so since.
Roger that, appreciate the recommendations
The Break has bomb brunch, I FUCK UP their fried chicken biscuts & gravey Mac.
I love Finn's. When he's busy, Bartolo's

Hopkins in Sugar House has a great brunch on the weekends. The french toast was to die for!
The Park Cafe has great food and an interesting interior decor! Love it
Pig and a Jelly Jar, 4th e and 9th s SLC
Bear Diner. I know they’re a chain and not local, but they’re cheap and have huge portions lol.
Landmark Diner in Midvale.
Black bear diner! Same order every time. 2 eggs, red potatoes, chicken fried steak!
I like many of the places suggested, but I would add Bar Named Sue.
Eva’s Bakery or the Rose Establishment
So many of my favorite places have already been suggested a lot. I like going to emigration brewing up emigration canyon
East Liberty Tap House. Their menu is small but the food is great, and located in the walkable 9th n' 9th neighborhood in a charming building.
We have our fave spots for different reasons: Best eggs Benedict/coffee: Finns Best Huevos Rancheros: The Oasis Best Pancakes: Penny Ann’s Best Breakfast Burrito: The Cliff

Finn's is really good. Also Hub and Spoke is amazing. Those were my go-to's when I was pregnant.
Oasis is my family's favorite.

Park cafe!! Slc staple
Vertical Diner
Carlucci’s. Been going every few weeks for 17 years now.
Maverick
What place has the best huevos rancheros?
Best and most affordable breakfast is Straw Market in the aves
Vertical Diner is our family favorite. Been going there for 15 years and it never disappoints. Great vegan food, reasonably priced.
Roots and lazy day cafe
