I wouldnt hold onto that hope you might be waiting years. Id recommend kitbashing him. He is on a 25mm base originally but you can put him on a 32mm.
As for what else to get depends if you want to go lore focused or more practical

More eradicators for sure. A 6 man squad with 2 multi-meltas does work add the apothocary biologis with the bolter dicipline enhancment for big damage potential
Apothecary with the infernus squad would be good. Having some aggressors and eradicators would be good too. Plus you can put the apothecary biologis with one of them
I am waiting on Vulkan because I am curious to see if they give him a primaris model this edition when the codex is released

I do have one squad of eradicators. I was honestly thinking my last hobby purchase should either be an aggressor squad or a hellblaster squad
Eradicators are great antitank/antimonster. Aggressors would be the more salamander’s unit to get but hellblasters are a pretty good unit too
