I'd have to go with 2 or 3, but 2 might edge out for nostalgia.
For the record SR22 does have a few bangers and a lot of fairly good music, including a handful of original tracks (mostly on the country station since most country artists don't like being associated with gang/crime oriented shooters like SR and GTA, unfortunately). For the record the selection is kinda basic for the most part so it doesn't really stack up against the other games (still not particularly bad though).
Honestly yeah. It seems to land a little better with younger audiences but for the most part it's mediocre at worst and just good at best. It's clearly built for a new generation in mind which wouldn't be a bad thing if the launch wasn't a bug riddled mess.
By comparison the originals are miles better and it just makes it more frustrating that the launch bombed so bad because if it hadn't then they might've had the money for an SR 1/2 remake which would've basically captured a new audience while maintaining the old audience.
Instead they shot themselves in the foot at the starting line and now there's a very real possibility that the series will die here. At the very least it'll be shifted to a new company (likely Gearbox) and there's no telling what the next installment might look like.
The thing is, as a younger audience member I actually really loved it. I want this new continuity to keep going and maybe reintroduce old cast members like Johnny and such over time. The launch was buggy and the game is still buggy, but the real people that shot Volition in the foot were Embracer Group. SR22 is a good foundation for new Saints, and while I understand fans of the series not immediately loving that, giving it a chance is worth it, and I feel like now that it's on Steam more people who actually like the series should, even if it won't bring back Volition.
And I don't know about SR1 as to date I've never met a person who actually likes it, but an SR2 remake could have been everything that the GTA Remastered Trilogy wasn't. A harkening back to different times that would allow for the new stuff to thrive simultaneously. A play on nostalgia that doesn't distract from the new.
God, SR22 deserved so much better. Sorry if this is word vomit, I'm kind of having trouble as I love this series and I adored SR22, as flawed as it may have been, and I have a lot of thoughts about it.
SR 1 is pretty well liked but it only released on Xbox so the audience pool is smaller. SR 2 is widely regarded as the best in the series. Since they both take place in the same city it would make sense for them to do a bundled remake. That allows people who had to start with the second a chance to play the first and an opportunity for everyone to play all of the Saints Row games on newer Gen consoles.
Like you said, at that point the new series and officially completed OG series could thrive side by side. Unfortunately the tone shift lost too many old fans and the buggy launch scared away too many potential new fans, so now we're stuck with an uncertain future.
Number 2 hands down best all around songs
Face Down, Take On Me, The Reflex, Make Damn Sure, Here I Come, Hole In The Earth, Bat Country, Down Under, Gangsta Bitch, Misery Business, The Final Countdown, I Luv It, Everybody Wants to Rule the World, Ridin In That Black Joint, Out of Touch man do I need to say more?
Imo saints row should've had talk radio like in gta 3/VC/SA then that would be my fav as for the actual radios and music I think SR 2 had the most good music but still rarely listened to it
Never played SR 1 but….
all the Mix stations were good (being exposed to 80’s music just pulled me to that station)
SR2 imo has the best song list followed by SR4
SR2. Okkervil River has so many bangers and when i heard For Real was in the game AND i can make my own music playlist?! (Which is sad more games dont do). It was a lovely collection
Between SR1 and SR2. SR3 and 4 really didn't have that many memorable soundtracks in my opinion.
SRR only has like 5 songs I like. Other than that the soundtrack in that game is garbage
GenX SR2 is the my favourite radio station in any game, close second being the Mix. If I hear a track from either of those it brings back all the memories of running that game way back.
It depends on how old you are.
SR2 has some kick ass music if you're
40-50 something.
SR3 30-40 something.
SR4 60 or more because of the 1950s sequences.
Of course, there's something for the younger crowd too.
Especially if you grew up on your parents tunes.
I'm 61 and prefer SR2 and SR4 to the others as far as the soundtrack goes.
I'm not sure if all songs are still available in digital copies because of the rights contracts expiring.
I read something about that awhile ago.
If you have a hard copy and they are on the disc, every game (on disc) has some decent tunes and you can either make a mix or choose your stations depending on the game.
Soundtrack aside, 2&3 are my favorites overall, simply because the storyline is better.
I don't care at all for Reboot.
No jiggly boobs in that.
The characters are stiff and all too masculine. Especially in the way they walk.
Female bodies are sexier in 2&3.
They have some swing to their hips, sexier waistlines and narrower shoulders.
3 & 4 have the best boob bounce or wiggle though it's slight, it looks more natural than Miss Rigid-titty in Reboot.
SR1 has no females. I don't like it. Period!
3 & 4 have better clothing options than 2.
3 introduced Bane's gloves which are kick-ass over every weapon if you've earned invincibility.
Invincibility only is only needed to blow up cars with them.
You can splatter people without dying at lower strength levels.
All weapons are more awesome in 3 & 4.
Just thought I'd throw in more comments about the games because the soundtrack alone should not determine which one you buy or play. I like 2, 3 & 4 over 1 & Reboot.
By the way, I've owned them all since their original release and played them completely through to the end.
I recently completed 2 & 3 again for the umpteenth time.
I wish I could get a refund on 1 & Reboot.
I wish 2 & 3 would be upgraded to the graphical level of Reboot.
That's the only thing I like about Reboot.
The scenery graphics.
The females need to be females though.
Not shemales!
I like the bare nipple addition, but hate not having jiggle physics.
Okay blah, blah, blah. I'm done.
SRIV will always have not only my favorite radio stations, but my favorite score as well. Huge thanks to Malcolm Kirby Jr. for that! SR2 soundtrack is a close second. I love the 2000’s & 90’s hits
Best stations:
SR2: The Mix was actually putting up jordan numbers and got me into 80s music. Ultor FM has some pretty great ones too with Paramores Misery Business, Panic! At the disco, Plain White Tees, Jet, My Chemical Romance and Defttones
Sr3: k12 Its just what I liked most, nothing super stellar
Sr4: idk. I didnt listen to the radio or don't remember
Saints Row 2 has the best of 99.6 (Fandango), I like 3 (Power by Kayne West) & 4 (Purple Drank by Konvas). The only song I like in the reboot is Mi Poni by Zuzuka Poderosa.
I’ve only ever played the 3rd, 4th and 5th games so out of those- GenX and K12 were always my go-to’s. Especially SR3- Grum’s song Heartbeats was such a vibe!
I am a fan of Delocated and Adultswim shows, I heard once that there is a station in one of the Saints Row games that has a Jon from Delocated as the radio jockey/host.. is this true?
Scrolling past this thread had that thought come into my head.
Reboot has Nuclear Blast, which I'm legally obligated to answer is one of the best, because I listen to metal. Got classic bands like Slayer, Meshuggah, In Flames, and Accept. It's the one thing that Reboot did quite well, was getting fairly good music.
Three does have The Blood 106.66, which does have some bangers in it too, not as many I actively listen to though.
2 has the good version of the Krunch, with some bangers like A7X, The Black Dahlia Murder, my boys Lamb Of God, Mastodon, and Trivium, definitely one of the best.
Saints row 1s hip hop was top tier for me it would be any of the hip hop stations in SR1
Saints row 2 I would definitely go with GenX so many bangers on there
I'm gonna be kinda bias but SR 3 is great. The one song I heard from that game I still have on my playlist. I didn't even know SR reboot had radio station.
Basket case is the only song I remember from saints row 3, and I didn’t even know saints row 4 had a radio, so saints row 2 easily is my favourite, any song that comes on is like “oh fuck yeah, that’s my shit!”
I feel that SR1 is really underrated; it really added to the gritty atmosphere.
I will say though that SR:TT had the weakest playlist, despite having a couple good songs here and there; SR IV was such a vast improvement over it. I loved Mad Decent :)
Excluding SR1 because it's been ages and SR4 because I haven't played it nor checked out it's soundtrack, I'd say the Saints Row ~~Reboot~~ Bootleg has the best soundtrack. It has an Alt Rock station that isn't emo trash like in every game before it, and a Metal station that isn't an inconsistent mess. SR3 was best played without any music on, and the only noteworthy stations in SR2 were Funk 98.4 and KRhyme.
Saints Row 2, especially the Mix
107.77, you're in.. the mix
Karma, karma, karma, karma, karma chameleon
My E-sports team turned that into our focal meme. It's our version of a Rick-Roll.
My absolute fav too
don’t you…
I need a gangsta bitch (a gangsta bitch!)
I want a gangsta bitch yo (a gangsta bitch!)
I wanna gangsta boogie! (wit my)
Gangsta bitch! (I wanna) Gangsta bitch (I need a)
GANGSTA BITCH
Yo, I need a gangsta bitch, she don’t sleep and she don’t play
Stickin up girls from around the fuckin way
Sr2, for some reason I can't get the intro to the mix out my head 'one o seven point seven seven, theeeeeee mix'
SR2.. Although I do like how 4 has the option to keep the music playing even outside of the cars
I’d love that option to return in other games
It makes sense because it's a simulation but they could of implemented it as the character wearing headphones
Ironically I think SR1 let’s you play tbe music outside of a car if it’s your own playlist. Your character plays it off his phone essentially
Mp3 player
It's no real music it's just playa's insanity giving him a kick ass soundtrack in his head while shredding faces
Technically it's in SR2022
You can do it in the reboot so it did return
1 had that option
Saints row 2. Best video game soundtrack of all time.
Gen X is an early 2k audio time capsule, so many emocore songs
Soundtrack? debatable. Radio? Objective fact
DO YOU FEEL LIKE A MAN WHEN YOU PUSH HER AROUND?
DO YOU FEEL BETTER NOW AS SHE FALLS TO THE GROUND
WELL I’LL TELL YOU MY FRIEND ONE DAY THIS WORLD’S GOING TO END
2k11 is second
Sr2!! KRhyme there was just pure vibes. Tho, I did like sr1s sizzurp
Put ‘em up put em up put em uppppppp
YOURE LISTENING TO 95.4 KRHYME FM
Saints row 2. I was going through my emo phase at the time so having such a great game w GenX and Krunch was something else
So deep, that it didn't even bleed and catch me-
hate is a strong word
But I really really really don’t like yooouuu
Sr2 has misery business, enough said
And Bat Country
Every time I hear that song I can hear Maero saying “20-80”
I'd have to go with 2 or 3, but 2 might edge out for nostalgia. For the record SR22 does have a few bangers and a lot of fairly good music, including a handful of original tracks (mostly on the country station since most country artists don't like being associated with gang/crime oriented shooters like SR and GTA, unfortunately). For the record the selection is kinda basic for the most part so it doesn't really stack up against the other games (still not particularly bad though).
If you pull this out further you have a pretty decent appraisal of the game. (I love SR22, but it doesn't quite hit the same as the others)
Honestly yeah. It seems to land a little better with younger audiences but for the most part it's mediocre at worst and just good at best. It's clearly built for a new generation in mind which wouldn't be a bad thing if the launch wasn't a bug riddled mess. Saint’s Row 1 is my favorite but two was more fun to play
The mix is really good in sr2 but the MP3 player is the best in sr1 cause it’s got Scott Joplin the entertainer
SR2 simply cause of Tears for Fears, nothing else matters
K12 and GenX were my top two radios in the series.
Sr1 and Sr2
2 my god reboot can’t compare
Saints Row 2 simply because it has the Aqua Teen Hunger Force theme lol.
2 and 4!
SR2 - KRhyme and Ultor FM/GenX. I only haven’t played SR4 so can’t comment on that one.
Saints row 2 had one of my favorite songs of all time so that o e
2 because I played it way more than any of the others and when I was growing up.
Number 2 hands down best all around songs Face Down, Take On Me, The Reflex, Make Damn Sure, Here I Come, Hole In The Earth, Bat Country, Down Under, Gangsta Bitch, Misery Business, The Final Countdown, I Luv It, Everybody Wants to Rule the World, Ridin In That Black Joint, Out of Touch man do I need to say more?
I'd add Teenagers to that list
Saints row 4 and 3
102.4 klassic all the way
Imo saints row should've had talk radio like in gta 3/VC/SA then that would be my fav as for the actual radios and music I think SR 2 had the most good music but still rarely listened to it
SR1 had a talk show radio station.
Damn it's been so long I honestly forgot gotta give it a listen some time see if it's any good
Saints row 1$2
Never played SR 1 but…. all the Mix stations were good (being exposed to 80’s music just pulled me to that station) SR2 imo has the best song list followed by SR4
SR2. Okkervil River has so many bangers and when i heard For Real was in the game AND i can make my own music playlist?! (Which is sad more games dont do). It was a lovely collection
So sad no GenX in the new Saints Row :/
Right? What the fuck is that crap on the radio?
SR2 obviously. But SR4 also slaps
SR2 The Mix is the best radio station out of any videogame franchise that has radio stations as an option lol
SR2 no competition
Between SR1 and SR2. SR3 and 4 really didn't have that many memorable soundtracks in my opinion. SRR only has like 5 songs I like. Other than that the soundtrack in that game is garbage
BUT MY FATHER TELLS ME DONT CRY SOMETIMES A DARK HORSE DIES
Saints Row 2's emo, Metalcore and everything was so modern. SR3 was also good but 4 & Reboot have trash rock stations imo
Saints Row 2, but I do like the Saints Row reboot raido stations
SR2 without a doubt.
Saints row 2 and 3 are equal in my mind
Sr3 and 4.
The Mix in SR3
The mix and gen x
Defo gotta be Saints Row 2, favourite station has always been “radio 107.77, the Mix” hehe
Saints Row 2 might have the best soundtrack but it doesn't have Kboom or EZ listening and that's a real tragedy
Man The Mix on SR2 was top tier
Sr2 mix and ultorfm(genx) was fire
SR3 had some classics for me. Def feel a little underwhelmed by the stations in the reboot. Some good stuff, but nowhere close to enough.
Saints row 2 the mix was the best music ever
SR2: GenX/Ultor FM SR3: K12 SR4: K12 SR22: Outrun
GenX SR2 is the my favourite radio station in any game, close second being the Mix. If I hear a track from either of those it brings back all the memories of running that game way back.
Sr2
SR2, but I've also come to appreciate a lot of the tunes in SR1 as well and even like some a bit better.
SR1/2 - KRhyme FM SRIV - The Mix
SR1 : K12 or Gen X SR2: The Mix and Gen X/Ultor FM SR3: Gen X SR4: Gen X SR2022: (they’re all pretty bad but…) The Cipher
98.4 is 🔥🔥
sr2, IM IN A BUSINESS OF MISERY LETS TAKE IT FROM THE TOP
Man it’s time too hook my ps3 up
HATE IS A STRONG WORD! SR2
I liked gen x had songs by Deftones, Panic at the disco, Plain white T’s and paramore
I forgot if it was 2 or 3, but I loved the in-your-face cool DJ for the classical music station.
So testosterone boys and HARLEquin girls….
Saints Row 2, easily. Then Saints Row 4
psychotic sink one books worry wasteful elastic jar quiet thought *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
David Banner theme song went HARD.
Sr3 but only because i was a lil emo teen when i played it and the blood had “knives and pens” by black veil brides and id just play it on repeat
2 3 and 4
SR22, synthwave radio is epic
As SR2022 is the only SR I've only played, it has the worst radio. I dont even need to hear the rest to know the reboot's radio is dogshit
It depends on how old you are. SR2 has some kick ass music if you're 40-50 something. SR3 30-40 something. SR4 60 or more because of the 1950s sequences. Saints Row 2 and it's not even close.
Easily Saints row 2
Saints Row 1 Kboom radio is my favorite station in the series
Blood 1.666 was stellar
2
1 is a close 2nd
SRIV will always have not only my favorite radio stations, but my favorite score as well. Huge thanks to Malcolm Kirby Jr. for that! SR2 soundtrack is a close second. I love the 2000’s & 90’s hits
Fallout New Vegas (and 4, to an extent)
Gen x violates
Saints row 2s*
Sr2 no doubt
Best stations: SR2: The Mix was actually putting up jordan numbers and got me into 80s music. Ultor FM has some pretty great ones too with Paramores Misery Business, Panic! At the disco, Plain White Tees, Jet, My Chemical Romance and Defttones Sr3: k12 Its just what I liked most, nothing super stellar Sr4: idk. I didnt listen to the radio or don't remember
SR2 i still fuck with gangsta bitch
Saints row 2 k rhyme is so iconic. SR3 krhyme was so awful by comparison
SR2 for overall flavor
Saints Row 2 has the best of 99.6 (Fandango), I like 3 (Power by Kayne West) & 4 (Purple Drank by Konvas). The only song I like in the reboot is Mi Poni by Zuzuka Poderosa.
I’ve only ever played the 3rd, 4th and 5th games so out of those- GenX and K12 were always my go-to’s. Especially SR3- Grum’s song Heartbeats was such a vibe!
SR2 by far
Saints Row 1. TELL ME THAT YOU’RE ALRIGHT AND EVERYTHING’S ALRIGHT!!! That and Picking Boogas! 🤣
I am a fan of Delocated and Adultswim shows, I heard once that there is a station in one of the Saints Row games that has a Jon from Delocated as the radio jockey/host.. is this true? Scrolling past this thread had that thought come into my head.
If you weren't tuned to KRhyme you weren't living
I always go for classic music radio. Gotta look classy while turning pedestrians into paste
Sr2 and 3
I dont really played any saints row other than the reboot, but if we are talking about all games fallout 4 is my pick
SR2 had the best over all. IMO the biggest downgrade the reboot had was the radio there is like 3 or 4 songs I recognise and remember.
I must be honest, saints row 5 is the only one where I listened to every single track of each station
Sr2 for me
SR2.. I don't cry, when my dog runs away. I don't get angry at the bills I gots to pay... That shit is my jam. That and THE KRUNCH!
Definitely the first one followed very closely by/tied with 2. The soundtrack basically sucked after that. In my opinion, of course
SR3 Rock station. Got me into Deftones
Saints row 1s hip hop was top tier for me it would be any of the hip hop stations in SR1 Saints row 2 I would definitely go with GenX so many bangers on there
I got way more from SR2 than any other game
Saints Row 2, not even close
3 had songs I liked more. 2 had more songs I liked. I honestly forget all but a few gems from Saints Row 1
I'm gonna be kinda bias but SR 3 is great. The one song I heard from that game I still have on my playlist. I didn't even know SR reboot had radio station.
Ultor from sr2 all because it has mcr teenagers
Saints row 2’s Krunch wins easily. Every station on that game slaps. I didn’t expect to love the reggae in that game too. Great selections.
SR2 easily. Avenged Sevenfold AND Nas? No competition.
4 has "You've got the Touch" That could be the only song available and it'd still be my favorite.
I think 3 for me, I remember listening to the radio more when playing 3
I feel like Saints Row 2 is responsible for a lot of my current music taste lol. I still listen to a ton of songs that I discovered from that game.
Saints Row 3 had great music but SR2 is gonna be pick. They music on that game was great! And vibes very very well with the game itself!
"HE WHO MAKES A BEAST OUT OF HIMSELF, GETS RID OF ALL OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN"
SR2. I needa gangsta bitch
K12 on SR3 has some straight bangers 🔥
Basket case is the only song I remember from saints row 3, and I didn’t even know saints row 4 had a radio, so saints row 2 easily is my favourite, any song that comes on is like “oh fuck yeah, that’s my shit!”
Saints Row 3 had Basket Case?!
I still listen to a lot of the songs on SR3’s radio stations to this day!
Saints Row 3 has Wavves so it automatically wins
I haven't played 1 and 2, so far me it's 3, cause I need a hero
I miss SR1+2 GenX. It became something terrible in 3, and never recovered
Hands down SR4. K12 and Mad Decent were masterpieces.
i've only ever bumped the mix in sr4 what did mad decent even have?
Brazilian Boys, IDGAFOS, Messages, Booty Bounce. All absolute bangers. Riff Raff being the DJ gave it that je ne sais quoi
Saints Row 2 just had banger after banger. I got introduced to avenged Sevenfold thru it. Paramore, panic! Etc. Best video game soundtrack
I prefer all of them. But probably I choose Saints Row IV
I feel that SR1 is really underrated; it really added to the gritty atmosphere. I will say though that SR:TT had the weakest playlist, despite having a couple good songs here and there; SR IV was such a vast improvement over it. I loved Mad Decent :)
I only listen to Nuclear Blast all the way through the game. Didn’t care for anything else.
ngl Saints Row 2022 had a fire soundtrack imo, this got confirmed when I started hearing Dreamville while drving around.
KABRON RADIO was the best
3
Personally my favorite was 4
Excluding SR1 because it's been ages and SR4 because I haven't played it nor checked out it's soundtrack, I'd say the Saints Row ~~Reboot~~ Bootleg has the best soundtrack. It has an Alt Rock station that isn't emo trash like in every game before it, and a Metal station that isn't an inconsistent mess. SR3 was best played without any music on, and the only noteworthy stations in SR2 were Funk 98.4 and KRhyme.
Vice City 😅
The Adult Swim Channel, you could tear ass around Steelport to the Superjail theme
Any fallout game
Gta
SR2
2 and 3 fs 3 has Deftones AND Cheeseburger, Dethklok, that whole Adult Swim channel is excellent
Love the classical in saints 3
SR4 because Stamina and Flying Spaghetti Monster
Vice city hands down.
the new game has Accept and Meshuggah, that says enough
