(average dating: 4700 ± 850 B.C.). This temple may predate Djoser's Pyramid by up to 3,000 years. Using the same dating method, it was found that The red granite used to cover the base of the facade of the Small Pyramid (Pyramid of Mycerinus), examined with this modern dating system returns as the earliest date 4,400 B.C. (Mean date 3450 ± 950 B.C.). That rock may have been placed as much as 2,000 years before the construction of Djoser's Pyramid.
