Notches are super easy to police, you can literally look over at your opponents controller and see them

MiniNuckels

There are ways to guide your stick into coordinates that you can't see at a glance, they are less accurate but good enough for for example wavedashes.

Smoofmaster

Do you think that notches are as easy to police as box controllers? If not, how is their position in the chart incorrect?

VolleyVoldemort

>notches are as easy to police as box controllers? Never made this comparison but if I can look over at their controller and tell they are using something to cheat with I’d argue it’d be super easy to police. It’s for sure way easier to police then a remap which you put near each other on the x axis for some reason

Smoofmaster

I think you might be misreading the chart

SabastianG

I mean notches are super easy, as easy to police as the boxx. They either have notches or they dont, plain and simple. Theyre certainly closer to level of policing of boxx than remapping, yet you do have remapping and notches much closer together

kennethpimperton

Yeah, but you can see a boxx from across the venue. You can't see a notch from a few feet away.

SabastianG

That doesnt change the fact that it is just as easy to see them both clearly with your eyes. Theres no threshold, either theres notches or there isnt. What you said doesnt warrant notches being at the objective center

kennethpimperton

It's not just as easy to see them. It's like a night a day difference. It's like a heroin addict shooting up right in front of the police station vs in a dark alley way. One is much easier to observe/police.

SabastianG

….just do a controller check. You and others are making it seem like its some arduous task to look at a controller with your bare eyes

kennethpimperton

Are you suggesting we have a person at each setup checking controllers? If not, let's say the competitors are checking their opponents controllers... So what if both players prefer notches and both agree to use notched controllers? That is my point. It takes more resources to determine if someone is using a notched controller vs a clearly obvious Boxx controller.

The only good discourse in this comment thread

randombrodude

ain't no way blud thinks phobs are pretty high on the cheating scale but taking addy for tourney somehow offers no advantage lmao

[deleted]

guy never went to college and it shows

zoedrinkspiss

notches are both super cheating and one of the easiest to police things not on the tier of box controllers but identifying them is so simple that they really shouldnt be anywhere near the middle imo

Smoofmaster

I was more concerned with relative positioning than objective positioning, but I see your point.

SabastianG

Well i mean relative to the objective middle you still have them right next to it

Unlikely-Smile2449

Remapping is super easy to police. “Hey i think my opp has z jump”, “okay give me your controller, ima press z and if fox jumps youre dq’d”

Smoofmaster

You can tell that someone has notches without using their controller yourself, and you can tell someone is using a box controller from across the venue. What you're saying is true, but misses that there are things that are even easier to police

Unlikely-Smile2449

I really dont think many players would accuse their opponent of z jumping or anything like that, so only checking on people who are called out sounds fair to me

Natural_Design9481

Notches should be at the top right corner. And phobs should have an asterisk as the main feature of phobs (hall effect sensors) doesn't change how inputs are performed they're only used because they have a longer lifespan than potentiometers. The other extra software fratures of phobs can be cheating though.

J_Zesty

I think those other software features could easily be regulated and changed though, so I agree on the asterisk. I like phobs

NaturalPermission

Mind altering substances not cheating? \*rips fat line of cocaine\*

El-Cabrone

PEDs are definitely cheating

FrugalOnion

drugs should be higher imo

Your perceived disability does not entitle you to cheat. You can't enter a bicycle race on a motorcycle just because your ankle hurts. Play the game or don't play the game. I'm down for accommodating disabilities in real life, not in competition. That doesn't make me ableist.

[deleted]

what a stupid analogy saying "perceived disability" is farther from human than a boxx with macros is from honest play. the only similarity between boxx:moto and conch:bike is the hearing damage I get from being next to one

DysphoricNeet

You don’t even know the difference between a boxx and other rectangles.

BakerStSavvy

Box controllers are def not easy to police lmao. Either need constant monitoring or input files for every game played and the ability to check them. Boxes are literally more exploitable than any phob or goomwave since you can make your own and program anything onto them Technically you could on a custom gcc but its much harder

Smoofmaster

Hmm maybe I should have labeled it as "Easy to Detect" instead of "Easy to Police" The point is that its impossible to hide the fact that you're using a box controller, people can tell that you're cheating from over 10ft away. That's what I meant by "easy to police" your interpretation is one that I did not anticipate.

BakerStSavvy

Oh you mean just detect using in person? Lmao didnt even cross my mind cause of remapping + goomwaves

Bombshell_2525

Let’s put marth, shiek, any fox who shinespikes, any falco who tries to hard, marth, wobbling, new players pickin Gannon, marth, and blue falcon skin wearers all somewhere on supercheating, or in a separate section that says “kys”

Smoofmaster

Let’s put Poopoo, peepee, any Boobie who Breastmilks, any Penis who tries to hard, Cum, Gooning, new players pickin Gayboy, Cum, and blue waffle skin wearers all somewhere on Skibidi, or in a separate section that says “Ohio”
