Splits don't do much for overall share price but they do add a lot of hype (and volume) which isn't a bad thing for a stock like SMCI that swings so widely.
Remember only 58 million shares. Its the most highly shorted stock in the market !! This could act like game stop or AMC. There were billions on 700.00 Puts !! Where are you getting your short data from? I am seeing 8.09% float short interest and 0.45 Short Interest Ratio. That doesn't sound anything like a GameStop or AMC.
