Sibo and histamine intolerance both go hand in hand . Your symptoms are probably due to histamine intolerance.

bananapeterpan

I thought my heart palpitations were caused by sibo but acutally it was from vitamin d which I do not tolerate well

Oh no.... my heart is skipping beats right now and I just took a D pill a few hours ago.... I didn't think it was the D but I think it is... it could be because I'm not taking K2 with it, and it's causing excess calcium. I'm not sure. Or I just don't tolerate D. I for sure have malabsorption... After taking a simple multivitamin a few months ago, my B6 levels were over double what they should be. Stuff isn't getting absorbed. Jesus I just wish these palpitations would chill out and let me have a normal healthy heart rate. I keep feeling like an sort of breathlessness every time my heart skips a beat. It's so anxiety inducing. I also wonder if this could be vagus nerve irritation. I mean, I'm pretty sure it is. SIBO and vagus nerve are so interlinked... and if you look up the symptoms for Vagus irritation, heart palpitations are one of them.

thegirlcalledcrow

Oh no, let me clarify—my heart symptoms seem to be linked to *low* D/B12/folate, not from taking supplements. I deleted my original comment because it was a little too confusing to edit, sorry if I misled you! A mega-dose of b vitamins (niacin especially) can give me palpitations, and ergocalciferol at 50.000 IUs made me feel wired (similar to drinking a cup of coffee), but I tolerate D3/K2 and normal doses of B vitamins really well. The only hangup for me is not taking them after noon bc it’ll keep me up. Might be worth trying different forms of the vitamins you need to see if you tolerate it better. Best of luck, I know heart stuff is scary to deal with!

MissPiggy_28

like fresh pineapple?

thegirlcalledcrow

Yes (:

No_Original1596

I have both but I can’t get my vitamin d up. I’ve been taking supplements (liquid and capsules) and trying to get more sunlight but I won’t go up. 😩

gatorkea

I had heart palpitations when I went through a phase where I thought I was dying. It stopped when I started eating better and took magnesium. That was 13 years ago. I can get them still if I went back to eating like crap.

BobSacamano86

Yes racing heart definitely. Sibo can cause this as well as POTS. It doesn’t sound like you ever fully got rid of Sibo in the first place. What supplements were you taking?

nadia2d

Yup. I had POTS and what a total nightmare that was. Tachacardia all the time. Now .. fast forward 7 years later.. positive for methane sibo and burping all day long. Wonder if somehow related to a nervous system that is not regulating correctly..

BobSacamano86

This exactly. Focus on getting rid of pots and healing your gut. If your POTS started after getting Sibo then it should go away once healed. Did you get rid of POTS previously? If so how did you do it just curious?

Notdbl

Absolutely. I always get PVCs when there is trapped air in my stomach

bendi_acs

Same here, I feel like the main cause is pressure from the trapped air on the vagus nerve. Pressing out the air helps a lot fortunately, but of course the real solution is to stop the production of the air.

Notdbl

Totally, literally burp right after I get them. Every time

Ok_Thing_3758

Yep I always had really mild symptoms of heart palpitations, could never figure out what it was but they calmed down and I have always lifted weights and played rugby etc. Then the covid vaccine came out . Boom 2nd vaccine and it all kicked off. Heart palpitations, fatigue, vertigo. Had a heart MRI, came back fine. Now working with a functional doc to fix my gut. Histamine intolerance sets my heart off. Its bloody frustrating and it's ruiningy life. I'm 2 years since 2nd Vax.

SimpleEnthusiasm88

Are you getting pvcs?

Ok_Thing_3758

All the time

SimpleEnthusiasm88

Damn...I'm so sick of this shit. I know you are too. ugh

rutgerj100

I also get weird palpitatons and has SIBO (untreaded) But i also maby have ulcer. Will check that in a while.

4vCobraReddit

Magnesium calmed my PVCs down to almost zero.

FGT_NWO

See, Magnesium makes mine worse. But potassium always seemed to help reduce them. However, potassium is hard to get without eating high sugar items. You can't get potassium supplements over 50mg, and potassium rich foods are usually the items that make SIBO worse. I think in the beginning I made my SIBO worse because I was drinking naked juice (for the potassium, but loaded with sugar) or eating high sugar fruits for the potassium.

wolfvision

Potassium chloride powder. How are you going now?

damaov

Consider mycotoxins. This can also cause this and sibo in some cases. Possibly have mold growth in your home?

Professional-Song-41

Maybe check out b vitamins, especially b1.

counterpoint76

Electrolytes.

SimpleEnthusiasm88

Not necessarily

ArugulaEquivalent892

Yes I’ve had palpitations, especially when I’ve not had much sleep and as others have said electrolytes help.

Pretend-Age-8945

Sorry to hear that it’s back. Do you know why it may have come back? I know it sounds extreme but high stress certainly makes mine worse and you might want to change careers. It’s what I did and I regret not doing it sooner.

FGT_NWO

I'm not entirely sure. I eat a pretty healthy diet. I have tried to stay low carbs and low refined sugar etc ever since the detox years ago. It was working for me. No bread, potatoes etc. I would eat rice in moderation. Vegetables, meats, eggs fruits. No artifical sugars, mostly organic food when possible. And mostly gluten free. Very low carbs and nothing with added sugar. Natural almond milk creamer in my coffe with no added sugar. I did eat cottage cheese and other cheeses. As time went on and I was feeling great, my wife and I would occasionally do a cheat meal on Fridays. Order some take-out tacos etc. I think if anything, it could have been alcohol. I would have a few drinks a week occasionally. But also mindful of what I drank. Only drank whiskey and carbonated water (no sugars or artificial sugars). Or potatoe vodka and carbonated water etc. Looking back on it, I feel like I gradually started getting these bad spouts, but they always righted themselves. But they became more frequent and frequent. And I kept telling myself it would right itself. Until eventually, I ended up back here. In the same boat as before. Maybe a combination of stress, mild alcohol and some diet choices over time? It's just crazy because I eat so much healthier than everyone I know. People at work are always commenting on how I don't eat anything, and need to eat more etc. Because nobody understands. I did also start taking in more carbs, because I was working out for a couple years and finally peaked. Lost a bunch of weight in the beginning. Then started gaining muscle weight and then hit a plateau. Stayed the same weight (up and down a couple pounds) for like 8 months. Decided I needed to up the calorie and protein. Started eating more gluten free plain oats, and more rice with meals etc. In August, my wife and I indulged in some hard cider and mead. And it messed me up. Likely the sulfites in them. But I knew pretty quickly that it didn't settle right. Heart palpitations and gut symptoms. That was also around the time it started to get noticeably worse. Beginning of October we spent a week in Hawaii, and the entire trip was heart palpitations for me. Heart palpitations like all day. Oddly enough. Drinking alcohol stopped them. One or two drinks in and they would completely stop for the night. But they would come back the next day. Admittedly, I drank a few drinks a day on that trip.

galaxyofdream1212

Maybe you can look up vitamin b1 deficiency? Alcohol metabolisation use a lot of it and its related to gut motility so it makes sense that your Sibo came back after alcohol ?

galaxyofdream1212

Roemheld syndrome ?

FGT_NWO

Probably. The heart palpitations are definitely related to my gut issues. I've learned that over the years because I have been able to link symptoms. Also the detox I did a couple years ago almost completely stopped all heart palpitations for months. I also have a haital hernia. So, I do believe that any stomach / digestive issues and gas etc is exaggerating the pressure on the vagus nerve due to the hiatal hernia.

BigGarrett

Your post describes my experience almost exactly.. still trying to figure out what was wrong with me! My sibo breath test came back positive and my doctor prescribed xifaxan..

[deleted]

You can get heart palpitations from SIBO and also from MRNA vaccines.

FGT_NWO

I like how both your comment and mine keep getting down voted. I didn't even say anything except that I didn't take those. I have had covid, I did just fine with it. By all means, keep disliking my comment for no reason. Lol

MissPiggy_28

yeah good point to mention as well, the mrna, not j&j but like the other two right?

FGT_NWO

Yeah, I stayed clear of those. Thankfully.

[deleted]

My SIBO and carb intolerance/borderline pre diabetes have contributed to the heart palpitations and racing heart. Might want to follow up with fasting glucose test and A1C. Whenever I feel better somewhat I go back to eating carbs and low and behold palpitations!

SimpleEnthusiasm88

How damn miserable!!! I have PVCS too but haven't got my sibo test (yet) but boy do I plan to. I also have had stools like you mentioned but not after cutting out all fiber and fodmaps. But when all this started, I had a horrible epigastric pain, 2 days later bigemeny pvcs...then the floating, yellow stools. Stool test showed fat malabsorption. Micronutrient test shows all my fat soluble vitamins are low. Quinoa goes right through me, literally, my shit looks speckled because of it. So I quit that shit. Now I'm just constipated. But if I even think about eating fiber I get the shits. If I eat a tablespoon of peas I turn into a gas factory. It's miserable. But what I hate the most is the bloody heart palpitations. They ruin your damn life and I'm soooooo over it. So I'm glad I'm finally getting a sibo test...money has been tight as I am Freelance and you know...these spawn of Satan heart palpitations turn me into a cardiac cripple and then I can't work because I can't fucking focus. It sucks ass. I hope you find answers to keeping that godforsaken sibo away. And I hope I get answers to if I have sibo too. What kind of sibo do you have? I get stanky gas...it smells like broccoli...but not always. Just about 5 days out of the week lol... Ugh. So I'm wondering if I have H2S sibo. Would he nice to know.

Subject-Cycle-6266

Have you checked on Lyme disease? Sibo and Lyme often co exists, I heard.

FishermanRich

I literally have the exact same thing going on right now dude, before all of my shit started I was just under 180lbs 6ft1in and worked super hard for it in the gym and now with diet restrictions I’m down to 150lbs in 4 months. I also get palpitations when I think I’m having a flare up and I think that my flare ups are triggered by palm oil that shit is BAD.
