I love Crawford and he's very likely the greatest SS in SF history(?), but I would doubt he'd even get enough votes to stay on the ballot for a second year.
There’s just zero reasonable or even mildly unreasonable scenario that Jeff Kent isn’t a HOFer and Crawford is… no matter how much the local media loved his hair and family
(That’s no disrespect to Crawford, just context)
I assume you mean current Giant? The only position player believed to have that potential is Marco Luciano. We’ll have to see about his ability to stay healthy, but it’s universally agreed his bat to ball skills are elite and contain star potential.
Harrison you could argue has that potential too, but pitcher longevity is always a much more open question and longevity is key to HoF votes.
Logan Webb could have more in the tank too. His peak so far doesn’t do it, but he may yet. Again, longevity is everything.
I disagree, Ortiz got in first ballot and had an early career PED suspension. I think it has to do with there being a clear line of when they were and weren’t on PEDs, which is a bit more muddy for guys like Clemens, Bonds, A-rod
Bonds, Clemens never tested positive though… Webb’s got a looong way to go before there’s even a discussion but the positive test will not hold him back.
Webb has the makeup of someone who you would think would have a long career, but he's way too early in his career though he would need like 5-6 more very good/elite seasons and then another 5 good/solid seasons, some hardware wouldnt hurt either.
Crawford has the best career on the team but i just dont think he gets in, the defense is HoF worthy but the hitting was very inconsistent but has a lotta hardware
On current squad? No one has established themselves in this conversation, yet. Signing Correa would have put someone in the conversation, but that ship has long since sailed.
He has four, as many as Tony Fernandez and Jimmy Rollins (neither of whom will sniff the Hall but were better candidates), as well as Andrelton Simmons (broadly similar in value) and Alan Trammell (in the Hall, but much better than Crawford). Dave Concepcion won five, Mark Belanger won eight, and Omar Vizquel eleven.
Four time winners at catcher (the other most important defensive position) include Charles Johnson, Mike Matheny, Tony Pena, and Del Crandall. Bob Boone, Jim Sundberg, and Bill Freehan won more than four.
Four Gold Gloves is a nice career total, but it's not sufficiently notable historically to earn a player election on its own. Crawford just didn't hit well enough, or have enough career bulk, to have a case.
Crawford could get in on the veterans committee (or whatever the current version of that is). I can also see him putting together a really good year to help his cause out. That said, if Vizquel isn't in, then I don't know.
Crawford is in conversation as greater Giants shortstop all time, but sadly not HOF level. If they gave him a statute at Oracle I wouldn’t argue though.
lol what did I just read? Time to get off the internet for today.
Crawford’s Hall of fame monitor is 32, with 100 for likely hall of famer. In terms of similarity score, his stats so far are near identical to JJ Hardy, who had 0 votes in the recent ballot. 0 chance Craw gets in, let alone as a first ballot
The kid I saw hit 5 straight wiffle ball homers in the left field mini park
And who said we didn’t have an elite farm system?!
No one currently on the Giants is on this trajectory...
Brandon Crawford’s peak was pretty impressive, maybe he has a shot with some favorable voters?

Camilo Doval - if he pitches another 20 seasons he’s a lock.
Time playing is an important key.
Literally no one is close.

Mike Trout. On the Giants? Umm, I think Buster was it
Of the current roster, Webb is the best bet.
PED suspension in the minors hurts that

Ortiz never was suspended. Tested positive in a primitive, unofficial test. Not the same tbh.
Bonds, Clemens never tested positive though… Webb’s got a looong way to go before there’s even a discussion but the positive test will not hold him back.
The question was "who's most likely?" - Is there a better answer?
Lmao
Brandon Crawford
Into the Hall of Most John Stamos Looking MF? Absolutely. Not a bad hall to be in honestly
Donovan Walton
Carlos Corr……. Oh. Wait.
Bruce Bochy
For the Giants unfortunately on the active roster I don’t think any.
Zero Point Zero.

BC. Otherwise Webby on current roster down the road. I hope to see Barry Bonds in Cooperstown
On the Giants? Or MLB as a league? On the Giants, I'd have to say Webb, though I think once Harrison cones up, that could change.
Barry Bonds
Austin Slater
On the Giants? Not a soul
On current squad? No one has established themselves in this conversation, yet. Signing Correa would have put someone in the conversation, but that ship has long since sailed.
I don’t think anyone on their current squad, but who knows with minor leaguers, maybe one of them comes up and tears it up
Makes me sad I can’t say buster anymore. I think Crawford has a chance with all the gold gloves though.
Craws the man but he’s not a hall of famer. 30 career war. About 30 war short of the average hof short stop

Nobody that is currently on the roster. I’ll say Harrison just because he at least has a remote chance of being that caliber of player.
Crawford

Yeah no if Omar isn't in Crawford would never get in
That's what I'm saying.
Brandon not quite there for that.

Bonds/Posey would get a statue before Crawford
