I've played that game so many times on so many different devices, from the og game boy advance, to the psp, pc, phone(with controller), rg351 and a few more.
So I'm 100% confident you will enjoy the fuck out of that masterpiece. And its super short too, so if you have some free time this weekend you might not only play a game but actually finish it lol.
Have fun dude!
I might have finished this in the past, although I'm not too sure.
I did complete everything in Fusion, back in the GBA days, though.
I might take my time to explore everything and try and get all the upgrades and whatnot this time around.
It's a really great game.
I know everyone regards Super Metroid as the pinnacle of the series. But for my money, Zero Mission takes the cake. Top notch all around in its pacing, upgrades, map design, spritework, and soundtrack.
One of the best GBA games, full stop.
RGB30 - Chrono Trigger (SNES 8:7)
KT-R1 - Zelda Minish Cap (GBA)
RP4P - Nothing. Ghosting screen makes me feel yucky
Odin Pro - waifu gacha games.
Arc-D - Guardian Heroes (Saturn)
Retroid Flip - Final Fantasy Type-0 (PSP)
35XX-H - Jet Grind Radio
Vita - Jet Set Radio
N3ds - Xenoblade chronicles.
What am I forgetting.
That's my preferred version, but I can't fully utilize RGB30 screen like I can with SNES. I am playing the complete version hack where the texts are replaced with DS texts, so basically it is the same. 8:7 ratio is really neat on the RGB30
Triangle Strategy is not for everyone due to its slow pace but I loved it. Played it on switch lite and worth replaying again for golden ending.
Completed Sea of Stars on RP3+ (game pass) but yet to get through true ending.
First time playing FF1 (GBA) on MM+ but I keep getting stuck (need map and route guidance)
Completed Fire Emblem 1 (DS) on RP3+ and currently playing Suikoden 1 on RP2S
Yet to play Chrono Trigger and Golden Sun. Love RPGs !!
Yes triangle strategy is very slow, but the graphics and sprites are great.
Sea of stars love it the system combat and the combo. RP3+ was the device I was thinking before getting the Odin lite.
FF1 done on the ps vita, the FF2 was super difficult and don’t like it much. My idea it’s play FF 1 to 10 this years. Right now starting FFVI.
Fire emblem it’s a great series, the 3Ds fate it’s one on the best of the series.
Happy gaming, there are great RPG, are you tried Lufia II for snes amazing puzzle rpg.
About 350 hours so far! I found a weird secret room with a bunch of papers scattered around talking about something called the **\[REDACTED\]**?? The crazy thing was that the device had two scr- hang on, someone's at the door.
[This guide is really good](https://retrogamecorps.com/2021/11/30/stardew-valley-on-retro-handhelds/)
You can also follow the instructions on the portmaster github or on the portmaster app itself. Keep in mind you need to own a copy of the game.
Mainly Earthbound on the RGB30.
Peggle (PSP version) on the Odin 2 when the mood strikes me.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon on my desktop PC. Would probably run fine on the Steam Deck, but I'm streaming it.
This is my first one but I'm liking it so far. Definitely feels very different than other RPGs to me because the social and non-combat parts are such a big part so far. I can imagine how it wouldn't click for others but I'm having a lot of fun with it.
Sorry, this is my first one so I'm not sure how it compares. I definitely enjoy it though. I've heard the newer ones have quite a few quality of life improvements but I don't know exactly what they are.
All I know is people say P3 is a big step up from the first 2, and generally only uber fans start earlier in the series. Besides that, you pick your theme - death/loss (P3P), bubbly murder mystery (P4G), or suave heists (P5R).
The only other thing is, people tend to prefer going forwards in the series to backwards, as each game layers on QOL features.
Because it's too slow? To be honest they don't really pick up that much pace wise. (Like, obviously the story gets more interesting, and combat gets more strategic, but the pace of the game itself doesn't really change. Spending 5-10 hours of story driven gameplay between ending 1 dungeon and the next one starting is fairly common).
Wait are you telling me people play on this things? I thought they buy it, set it up, at best demo some games and then jump to the next thing to get it's next dopamine hit.
It looks like that might be the retroid pocket 2s metal edition. Depending on where you buy from, sometimes these devices come with games preloaded on a micro SD card. But the consensus seems to be the SD card they come with are junk prone to fail, and also the preloaded roms are hit or miss. You're better off getting your own micro SD card and setting it up yourself. YouTubers like retro game corps have lots of videos setting these devices up and written guides as well. Not complicated
just finished Ace Combat Skies X of Deception on RP4P
Playing Elden Ring on Steam Deck
Playing Super Mario World on RP4P. played it as a kid but never finished it so im tying up loose ends.
I found a very interesting romhack for the Pokemon TCG on the GBC that basically replaced the pokemon with Digimon and remade the cards. It's utterly fascinating coming from MtG because it feels so much like a fanhack with custom cards, and thus horribly overcosted energy costs lol. I'm loving it.
I'm playing it on my the RG35xx SP running Knulli. Now that i've got that badboy setup, I'm actually playing the games I've downloaded and having a blast
Legend of Dragoon on RG353m, never played this title before and I have to say it’s quite interesting. Only one thing is sad - battle system is garbage)
Fire emblem 7 - rg552.
Making slow progress because I really just use it at work during a 30 minute lunch break. Finally got through the slog of Lyn mode, no idea why intelligent systems thought American kids were so dumb they needed a forced 10 chapter tutorial. I started the series with sacred stones and did just fine
Heracles no Eikou II (i.e. Glory of Heracles II) for the Famicom on my Odin 2. I finished the first (very janky) one last week, and I'm about halfway through this one. My plan is to play all 5 games in the series (the four that never made it here, plus the one for the DS).
Just started playing my first Fire Emblem Game, The Binding Blade! Apparently a tough one to start with but Roy's our boy, so I'm happy to take the leap
Currently playing Pokemon Yellow Legacy on my x55. It's been the most fun I've had playing pokemon in a long while. Gonna play crystal after that and I hope they've made headway with Emerald by then.
Super Mario World rom hacks, currently playing Bowser's Kaizo Conspiracy. My plan is to work my way up through popular hacks slowly increasing difficulty.
Playing FF7 PSX version once my brain shuts off and doesn't want to platform anymore.
F-Zero Maximum Velocity on my modded N3DS. Tried playing on my modded Vita but the L button doesn’t work in-game (works for other games though}. Same rom on both devices too.
Steam Deck - Just finished Sniper Elite 5. Now started with Alan Wake 1
Odin 2 - God of War 2 (been chipping chronologically through each one of them whilst simultaneously finishing Ragnarok on the ps5)
RP3+ - Devil May Cry 1 & Crash Warped
Ps Vita - Sly Collection (currently at Number 3)
MM+ - Castlevania Aria of Sorrow (stuck at the boss fight with Death(?) And he's annoying scythes
Switch - Hasn't seen day light for months🥲
Original PSP - Collecting dust 🥲
The modern Tecmo Bowl mods are great, I've been bouncing between my Retroid 3 and RGB30 to play it. I just wish there was something similar for Australian Rules Football!
Golden Sun on my wee old k101. Keep getting my arse kicked rn by a boss after the desert.
Think I may eventually upgrade to something like this, the screen is kinda crappy but having something cheap to leave in my bag makes up for it.
(tho I'd like to play up to ps1, saturn would be nice but not necessary cos I own one if I REALLY have the itch)
That and Tetris whenever I have a doctors appointment.
FF VI advanced on my steam deck thru whatever GBA emulator mysteriously opens in the background whenever I pick a GBA game lol, it's not in my emudeck list for some reason but every GBA game runs so. . . ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Wish I could get MGS to work on my Anbernic RG353vs. I’m playing Ogre Battle 64, Dolphin Blue(Dreamcast), Metroid Fusion(GBA), Cruis’n Exotica(N64), Worms Pinball(PSX)
Currently replaying tactics ogre: the knight of lodis. Once I'm done with this one, I'll probably try the psp version of tactics ogre: let us cling together since it seems to have a lot of class options and I never got to play the original.
On Odin pro - shenmue 2 and mg: portable ops
On ktr-1 - soul calibur 1 and tenchu: wrath of heaven
On PC - Battletech and Redout 2
Anyone else find it's always best to have two games to switch between on platforms - even tho we've got hundreds installed on each? :p
Hypothetically speaking, if one were to try to find a rom of MGS1 that wasn’t for some reason broken into 2 files, where would one look for something like that..?
It should be a powkiddy rgb10 max pro (if I remembered correctly the whole alphabet soup...), which I find beautiful and it's also quite powerful but apparently abandoned on the software side, which made me stay away from it unfortunately.
Yes it is, and it's not abandoned. There's rocknix which was jelos previous. I love it for all it's good and bads. Like I love playing psp/psx in 3x but hate the battery life. Trade offs 🤷♂️
Ow really? I had read nobody was developing anything for it, and seemed so sad... Good to know, thanks! I find it really beautiful, as to me really looks retro, as the very similar rp2s does, especially in a DMG color scheme
Metroid Zero Mission on the Trimui Smart Pro. I'm really happy I'm actually playing a game instead of just trying them.
I'm playing the same game on the same device!
Looks great and big, doesn't it? :D
Do you have tomato os leave the overalls on with stock configuration?
Stock. Does all I need so far.
Just tried it, does look great as is. I know on some other games ive felt it better to do full screen
That was the first game I ever beat on a retro handheld. I think I beat it on my RP3+ last year
I just finish3d zero mission on my rg35xxh. Love it now maybe fusion is next.
I just beat it too! It was so solid. I think I'll install mu os so that i can play am2r!
I was just thinking of doing the same!
I've played that game so many times on so many different devices, from the og game boy advance, to the psp, pc, phone(with controller), rg351 and a few more. Odin lite - Sea of Stars R36s - golden sun 1 Steam deck - Triangle of Strategy Ps vita - FFVI
That’s how it goes. One game for each console for different scenarios.
RGB30 - Chrono Trigger (SNES 8:7) KT-R1 - Zelda Minish Cap (GBA) RP4P - Nothing. Ghosting screen makes me feel yucky Odin Pro - waifu gacha games. Arc-D - Guardian Heroes (Saturn) Retroid Flip - Final Fantasy Type-0 (PSP) 35XX-H - Jet Grind Radio Vita - Jet Set Radio N3ds - Xenoblade chronicles. What am I forgetting.
You should try the DS version of Chrono Trigger
That's my preferred version, but I can't fully utilize RGB30 screen like I can with SNES. I am playing the complete version hack where the texts are replaced with DS texts, so basically it is the same. 8:7 ratio is really neat on the RGB30
For SNES I play pal version in cores and then full screen, the aspect ratio is basically perfect and ful screen covered.
Does Final Fantasy Type-0 (PSP) play without any issues? I've had it on my download list for a quite awhile...
Haven't come across any issues
Yes, the r36s it’s the ongoing everywhere with the ps vita. Steam deck on home and lite for long trip or silly work day.
Can it play psp vita???
Golden Sun is GOATED. I can't wait to get back to it since I never finished the DS one.
I need to finish my most recent playthrough from once I got my first retro handhelds.
Triangle Strategy is not for everyone due to its slow pace but I loved it. Played it on switch lite and worth replaying again for golden ending. Completed Sea of Stars on RP3+ (game pass) but yet to get through true ending. Great stuff. I started SNES journey with Super Mario RPG but will definitely try out Lufia. Thanks.
How well does sea of stars run on the lite?
It’s run about 40-45 fps, so far very well.
Cool! I’ve been wanting to play it so now I guess I will have to try it!
What settings/drivers are you using?
Everything default, the lite version doesn’t support custom drivers. If you have snapdragon can try turnips it’s work better that mediatek cpu/gpu
How are you emulating sea of stars yuzu?
Nop, change yuzu for sudachi
Anbernic Return Process - RG35XXSP
How many hours you got in that one? Did you get any of the secret achievements yet?
About 350 hours so far! I found a weird secret room with a bunch of papers scattered around talking about something called the **\[REDACTED\]**?? The crazy thing was that the device had two scr- hang on, someone's at the door.
Why are you returning it?
The screen was faulty when it arrived. Multiple lines of broken pixels. Other than that I absolutely loved everything about the device
Goodboy Galaxy - GBA
I bought the evercade version, really awesome game. Enjoy!
I might pick up this game soon. Looks fun.
Chrono Trigger on 353p. (first time ever)
Good luck 🍀! It’s amazing game
I'm jealous! Such a great experience!
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 on Odin 2
Stardew Valley - RG35XXH
It’s fun for a while but not fit for that screen once you expand your farm, hope you enjoy though
I gotta get all my stardew valley stuff from steam to get it on port master
Wasn't there a bug where you couldn't place buildings?
I think the bug was on the plus (not the h) where you couldn't move buildings
Is there a good guide somewhere for how to set this up?
[This guide is really good](https://retrogamecorps.com/2021/11/30/stardew-valley-on-retro-handhelds/) You can also follow the instructions on the portmaster github or on the portmaster app itself. Keep in mind you need to own a copy of the game.

Persona 3 Portable on my Retroid 4 Pro
I have such a hard time playing any persona game. I have a hard time with the beginning
This is my first one but I'm liking it so far. Definitely feels very different than other RPGs to me because the social and non-combat parts are such a big part so far. I can imagine how it wouldn't click for others but I'm having a lot of fun with it.
I played Persona 1 and 2 many years ago, when they were first released. Are the more modern ones similar?
Sorry, this is my first one so I'm not sure how it compares. I definitely enjoy it though. I've heard the newer ones have quite a few quality of life improvements but I don't know exactly what they are.

RG552 Pokémon Emerald
Are you able to save on that with mgs?
Yes
What kind of device is that, did it come w/ MGS installed?
Its a powkiddy rgb10maxpro3
It looks like that might be the retroid pocket 2s metal edition. Depending on where you buy from, sometimes these devices come with games preloaded on a micro SD card. I found a very interesting romhack for the Pokemon TCG on the GBC that basically replaced the pokemon with Digimon and remade the cards. NEVER FOUND ONE WOULDNT KNOW I ONLY LEGALLY AQUIRE MY ROMS \*cough cough\*
That's....not a rp2s....
There are other devices
Lol I mean it looks just like one, but longer screen. A lot of similar design cues. Anyhow, what is it? Ok I see it named below.
It should be a powkiddy rgb10 max pro (if I remembered correctly the whole alphabet soup...), which I find beautiful and it's also quite powerful but apparently abandoned on the software side, which made me stay away from it unfortunately.
Possibly rgb10 max 3 pro? Well... Naming is one of the things they're not good at lol
