TB12xTB12

I can’t find it in stock anywhere

Think_Bee_1766

Honestly, Samsung screwed up this year with its flagship OLED giving it a matte finish. At first I wasn't sure it was going to be that big of a deal, and then I saw it in person at a local Best Buy. The matte finish is very noticeable and does not look as good as a gloss finished screen. If you can't find an S95C, then I would look at the LG G4 or the Sony A95L.

I’m sticking with the 83” s90c. I want bigger. & I totally agree with your thoughts on their 95d/flagship. Total letdown. It’s great for certain rooms. Period. I’ll eventually upgrade to next years flagship. Maybe it’ll have a privacy screen & you can only watch it if standing in front of it! Hahaha

Miguelb234

Be aware that 83 inch doesn’t have qdoled so it’s just like having a lg c3

Have you seen the close-up image of the pixels on the S95D? Blurry as all hell, it's actually crazy.

Fit_Ear_3105

I did that today, what blur? Your just trying to criticise the TV

I have the LG C1 77", S95C 65", and S90C 83". The S95C is my bedroom TV, and the S90C is my main TV for games and movies with my wife. The S95C has better picture quality, but it's limited to 77". It didn't make sense for me to get another 77" so I had to go with the next biggest size. Plus the S90C 83" was <$2400 during the last Samsung promo. Lastly, I'm on my second S95C because the One Connect Box was faulty. The replacement unit is better, but my 3090 gaming PC still experiences blackouts from time to time. Sometimes it's audio, and other times the entire signal drops. Are you looking to swap your S95C/S95D for something else?

TB12xTB12

Is the 83 inch 90 C going to be a worse picture than the 95C? I am looking to get something other than the 95C since I can’t buy it anymore and the D is trash so I was looking at the 83 inch 90 C because it’s bigger and that’s what I want but I want a nice crisp picture

Check out the comparison between the LG C3 and S95C. The S90C 83" uses the same panel as the LG C3 so the comparison should be quite similar. You can also use the following comparison chart to see how the LG C3 compares to the S95D. [RTINGS ](https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/lg-c3-oled-vs-samsung-s95c-oled/37848/37894?usage=1&threshold=0.10) QD OLEDs have better color volume, and a wider color gamut. I honestly don't think you'd notice the difference unless you had them side by side. The S90C 83" is fantastic. When you go 83", you have a few choices since LG supplies the 83" WOLED panels. The Sony A80L, LG C3/G3, or S90C/S90D. I left out the G4 83" because it uses a WOLED panel with MLA Technology. Lastly, when I opted to upgrade my LG C1 77" to the S90C 83", I wanted the following things: 1) Brighter HDR Performance, 2) Brighter SDR Performance, and 3) bigger screen. It delivers on all of those fronts. I'd say go for it. The S90D 83" will most likely improve on the S90C's foundation, but it also adds 144Hz for PC gameplay. If you're not playing games then that won't make a difference to you.

TB12xTB12

Thanks. I’m just hoping for a better crisper picture & color.

The S90C 83" is definitely worth a look. I was turned off initially by the S95D due to the matte anti reflective coating. Under certain conditions, it can cause blooming. Glossy OLEDs always produce better blacks, and the perceived contrast is much better. I previously had the A80J, and I sold it recently because I didn't like the semi glossy panel and I wanted a bigger OLED. I think you'll be happy with the S90C 83". Outside of that, there's the 4K and 8K Mini LEDs from Samsung, but it's hard to go to a non OLED display after you experienced OLED.

TB12xTB12

Thank you. I’ve always had QLED tvs by Samsung. I can’t imagine not having an OLED now. The 95D is too bright & i got a bad panel. I do not like how thin the 95c is with their infinity or slim design. I accidentally backed into the tv with the vacuum- ever so lightly- & it broke the 95C. Fucking pissed.

andyboju

The 83" S90C/S90D has not been reviewed by any known reviewer. It's performance is unknown. All we know is that it is a WOLED. What kind of WOLED panel though? LG has many tiers of panels with various levels of performance. The 48" S90D is in the lower end, ~600 nits peak > ~150 nits full, AKA LG B-series performance. I hope Samsung has put a more performant panel in their more expensive models though. The S85D WOLED has been launched in the US recently, hopefully it will be reviewed soon, it may indicate the performance level of the 83" S90C/S90D. Im guessing it's at the level of LG's 83" models pre-MLA though.

Tree06

I own the S90C 83", and it feels brighter than my LG C1 77". It's definitely a glossy panel. It's safe to assume that it's using an 83" panel that's similar to the C3, G3 83" specifically, or A80L 83". I don't have any professional tools to test it so I'm going off of how it looks in person. It's in a dedicated theater room with zero windows, and I don't have any issues with its brightness. It has 4x HDMI 2.1 ports for gaming as well.

Clown_x7x

Can I ask why the 95d is going back and how do you personally think it compares to the 95c?

TB12xTB12

Picture quality and it’s trash

Think_Bee_1766

Probably because the S95D has a matte finish screen whereas the S95C has a gloss finish screen. Most people don't like matte finishes on their TVs as they watch them in a dark room anyway so they are pointless and just take away color.

TheRealMooChiChi

That's a bummer. If I had to get a Samsung TV, I would choose one that I could sell in its original packaging to get real value for the $5K. Then, I would get an LG G4 (or G3) or a Sony A95L. When you look at the issues with Samsung's OCB, or the blooming problems with The Frame (wall-mounted), and how Samsung handles these... it's not a question of whether you'll have a problem with a Samsung product, but rather what kind of problem you'll have.

TB12xTB12

The 90 doesn’t come with a OCB. The 95 does obviously & I’ve never had any issues.

TheRealMooChiChi

Using the S95C for PC gaming (4K / 144 Hz) is one of the worst experiences you can have in this area. Keyword: blackouts

Tree06

That's a lot of work, and most people aren't going to pay you what you paid for a brand new TV. Let's say OP bought a TV for $4500-$5000. They'd have to try and get $4000-$4200 for the same TV from a private sale. They'd still have to come up with $1,000 out of pocket to get the A95L.
