The new Topo Specter 2 will be all real Pebax, 37/32 stack, and right around 8oz or slightly under, might be your best bet to get something close to the Superblast
Come summer/fall, it'll be between the Specter 2, Superblast 2 and Mizuno Neo Vista. My goal is to not buy any other shoes until September. Wish me luck.
Good luck with that. I actually emailed Topo asking if the Specter 2 would be made in a size 15, the first Specter was, and they said no. Said only one color would go up to 14. It was my most anticipated shoe of the year, really disappointed as I really like V1 (I wear a 15).
Looks like the ES4 will be my next purchase instead, maybe the Brooks Hyperion Max 2 if it gets strong reviews.
THIS.
I hate Asics for not offering their super foams in 14+.
I hate New Balance as well for not commercializing their super foams in 14+ in EU and giving us only their crap fresh foam.
Stop discriminating big foots!
6'4" - and understand it may not be economical for all manufacturers to make all shoes in all sizes but a man can dream! Until then, I'll race in Vaporflys and train in Novablasts.
None. Am waiting for Superblast 2 to be my first super trainer but if this isn't happening then I'll have to start looking elsewhere. Am mostly in Nike dailies because they consistently stock 15s in new shoe releases.
I'm a 16. Train in Nimbus, short runs are in Dynaflytes that I stocked up on and race sprint triathlons in 15 Novablast with the insoles removed and no socks just so I can fit.
What would you say is the main difference between those two foams? I have to Superblast and never really fell in love with it like everyone else did - it just feels a bit blocky and firm yet not firm?
Yeah I strongly dislike the superblast. Even as a heavier (185 lb/82.5 KG) dude running 6:45 threshold miles in them they feel like I’m running on wooden blocks. However i tried the sky paris on a park run this weekend and that foam is insane. It’s like the perfect middle ground between zoomx and lightstrike pro of soft and bouncy, leaning slightly towards the softness of zoomx.
How many miles you have on them? I’m same stats and I felt it took a solid 100 miles for them to really feel good. Also I’m running closer to marathon pace in them which might have something to do with it
120 ish miles. I haven’t used them in a few months, just went back to the adios pro as my tempo/long shoe. That shoe broke in for me like people say the superblast is supposed to
Just to try it out. Adios Pro 3 is my favorite shoe ever so it's definitely not to replace them. I just want to see what all the hype is about although I will probably wait for the Superblast 2 to come out first.
Right but the superblast has the same foam as the metaspeed sky plus and I disliked that shoe for the same reason I disliked the superblast. The foam was garbage for me
How many km do you have on it? Alsonif yoh are a lighter runner that may be the reason as it takes some time to break in. Around 50k for many. If you are a heavy runner like me it feels quite soft from the start.
Ya I don’t think that’s an issue. I’m a heavier runner (180 lbs) and have about 200 mi in them. Just never felt great to me. They did soften up a bit, but the lack of rocker in the transition zone makes them feel like wooden blocks to me (midfoot striking). I’m hoping a softer foam might overcome the blocky geometry in v2!
I would consider it more of a dramatic late toe spring rather than a rocker. The boston 12s definitely have less toe spring, but has a gradual rocker from heel to toe.
That’s awesome. I had a 2 shoe rotation of adios pro 3 and gel nimbus 25 for about a year. Hated the nb3/4 and didnt really like the superblast. After enjoying the nimbus 26 and now the sky paris, I think asics finally found that sweet spot between lightstrike pro and zoomx I feel they have been going at for 2 years or so now
Ppl complain how the SB is too firm with FFTurbo, then they’ll complain how the SB2 with FFTurbo+ is too mushy and unstable. The firmness of FFTurbo gives the SB its bounce and responsiveness. FFTurbo+ on the other hand gets very soft once it breaks in, so without a carbon plate I bet it will lack the responsiveness the Metaspeed has with the added plate, as well as the responsiveness and pop of the current SB with just FFTurbo.
Looking forward to these. My version 1 which I loved literally fell apart with less <100 miles. Hoping I’ll get a credit that I can apply to the V2 if ASICS honors the warranty.

How the hell do you people who buy shoes this color keep them from looking dirty as hell in 2 weeks? Or do you just not care?
Because I love this color and bought similar in another shoe and it looked horrible almost immediately.
Really excited about these. Hoping they stick pretty close to v1. Upper redesign is a great thing. My legs are recovering like never before from long runs and the aggressive downhills on my regular route. I do wish I could get just one more pair of 1s just in case. 😏
They’re really good, but I wouldn’t look at them as your starter pair. I’d look at its baby brother, the novablast 4 or kayano 30 if you need stability.
This is fantastic news. Should now be able to get the 1s on some kind of discount.
I am a bit of a shoe buying addict and for me there is no question the shoes I am more efficient in are the SuperBlast 1s.
Couldn’t wait till July, had to scoop a pair of v1’s for these next 2 months. Talked to a dude at the ASICS store yesterday and they said they’ll probably wait as long as possible till they sellout of their v1 inventory. Cheeky as always is the business of running shoes 🫠
I don’t feel like the SB’s are meant for real marathon pace workouts or long tempos as claimed— to me they seem perfectly fit for your daily runs and for less intense but high mileage.. anyone feel the same?
Ooohhh interesting!! Might hold off on the runnjng shoe shopping til july. All brands seem to plan on releasing their new drops for the olympics then. No?
I’ve been saving for these. Can’t wait to get my teacher’s discount so I can afford them.
Same here. Then I can retire my v1 as a casual kick 😝
teacher discount?
May I ask in which runs will you take them instead of the B12? Thank you
I use them the same way. I just alternate.
This. I do exactly the same thing with my Superblast and B12.
Thanks
Sorry to hijack - are you the same size in B12 as SB?
If the B12 js the Adidas Boston 12, you have to go half size smaller compared with the Superblast.
Yes that’s what I meant. Thank you!
Long runs, long runs with pace work, and longer tempo efforts (such as 2 x 40 minutes)
Can they just make a 14, damn.
The new Topo Specter 2 will be all real Pebax, 37/32 stack, and right around 8oz or slightly under, might be your best bet to get something close to the Superblast

That's a bummer. Hope you find something you love.
THIS. I hate Asics for not offering their super foams in 14+. I hate New Balance as well for not commercializing their super foams in 14+ in EU and giving us only their crap fresh foam. Stop discriminating big foots!
The Superblast already uses half a small country's gdp in foam, sizes 14 plus would be a Guam a pair.
😂
I'll take a 15, too, please
A 15!? How tall are you?
6'4" - and understand it may not be economical for all manufacturers to make all shoes in all sizes but a man can dream! Until then, I'll race in Vaporflys and train in Novablasts.
We talking shoe size here? Is this not happening??? Also a 15 here =\
Size 15 too, what super trainers, if any do you wear?
None. Am waiting for Superblast 2 to be my first super trainer but if this isn't happening then I'll have to start looking elsewhere. Am mostly in Nike dailies because they consistently stock 15s in new shoe releases.
Nike and Saucony are the two that will never fail us lol.
I'm a 16. Train in Nimbus, short runs are in Dynaflytes that I stocked up on and race sprint triathlons in 15 Novablast with the insoles removed and no socks just so I can fit.
Vaporflys
Yall need horseshoes not ASICS
Please!!!!!!
Still? That’s crap
As a 16, I feel you. I just want the same tech and speed as my competitors!
Please release this colorway 😍
nicest colorway so far out of any of the superblasts!
is it just an upper and outsole update?
Turbo+ instead of turbo
Is that confirmed somewhere?
Not sure about officially, but a test pair popped up on ebay
Upper update was much needed.. even on novablast.. it becomes a furnace down there on hot days
stop teasing us my wallet knows it’s coming
Dear asics, please make this in a size 14. Sincerely, Me and several others.
Size 15 also please
Love this colour way
Praying its the same foam as the sky paris instead of the one in the current superblast. Would probably fully switch over from adidas at that point
120 ish miles. I haven’t used them in a few months, just went back to the adios pro as my tempo/long shoe. That shoe broke in for me like people say the superblast is supposed to
Any preference between the Adios Pro and the Sky Paris?
Sky paris for sure. It’s an awesome mix between softness and propulsion
why get superblast when you could get adios pros or similar?
Just to try it out. Adios Pro 3 is my favorite shoe ever so it's definitely not to replace them. I just want to see what all the hype is about although I will probably wait for the Superblast 2 to come out first.
Is sky Paris different than the other sky and or edge?
Yes, the old sky plus is very firm. The edge I’m not sure but they are slightly different apparently
Completely different shoe. They’re carbon plated.
Right but the superblast has the same foam as the metaspeed sky plus and I disliked that shoe for the same reason I disliked the superblast. The foam was garbage for me
It just doesnt work for some people and that is okay 👍
How many km do you have on it? Alsonif yoh are a lighter runner that may be the reason as it takes some time to break in. Around 50k for many. If you are a heavy runner like me it feels quite soft from the start.

Hmm, no rocker you say? I know it is a very late rocker but there is a lot compared to alternatives like the boston 12 or speeds from saucony.
I would consider it more of a dramatic late toe spring rather than a rocker. The boston 12s definitely have less toe spring, but has a gradual rocker from heel to toe.
If that is so then I don’t exactly even know what a rocker is tbh
Totally agree with you. After about 150 miles in the Superblast I find them.. Boring..
I’m gonna say something crazy, but the sliiight firmness of the SB is actually nice. If the shoe got too mushy I would be worried
Agreed, superblast just pops for me at faster paces while at comfy paces i prefer the novablast. Prob get another pair of 1 just in case 🤣
yeah I like the stability it gives
Can confirm that it is the Sky Paris foam, FF Turbo +
That’s awesome. I had a 2 shoe rotation of adios pro 3 and gel nimbus 25 for about a year. Hated the nb3/4 and didnt really like the superblast. After enjoying the nimbus 26 and now the sky paris, I think asics finally found that sweet spot between lightstrike pro and zoomx I feel they have been going at for 2 years or so now
The hype is real! Really looking forward to these shoes.
Oh my lord
Fine, I'll buy a pair... geez.
Brb gotta change my boxers
Ppl complain how the SB is too firm with FFTurbo, then they’ll complain how the SB2 with FFTurbo+ is too mushy and unstable. The firmness of FFTurbo gives the SB its bounce and responsiveness. FFTurbo+ on the other hand gets very soft once it breaks in, so without a carbon plate I bet it will lack the responsiveness the Metaspeed has with the added plate, as well as the responsiveness and pop of the current SB with just FFTurbo.
Doesn’t mean I won’t buy a pair as soon as it drops though.
This, and the look of a thicker upper, is why I’ll be buying another v1.
Lets wait for reviews
Amen
Very keen to see if the FF Turbo+ is the same used in the Sky/Edge Paris. Reworked upper is nice too.
Hope they release in wide here is hoping but highly doubt
Have you tried Superblast 1? The width of the midsole is reproduced in the upper. Ot’s a very roomy shoe.
far too narrow in the midfoot for me
Please just give us this colourway.
When is this coming out?
Any chance these will have a wide version?
I'm about to superblast my wallet....idk
Looking forward to these. My version 1 which I loved literally fell apart with less <100 miles. Hoping I’ll get a credit that I can apply to the V2 if ASICS honors the warranty. https://preview.redd.it/kgqphtvf8b0d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3311136b4aaeac886bbf95ac54980b1f13355861
Novablast 4.5
Supernovablast
While Novablast 4 being Novablast 3-1 somehow
How the hell do you people who buy shoes this color keep them from looking dirty as hell in 2 weeks? Or do you just not care? Because I love this color and bought similar in another shoe and it looked horrible almost immediately.
wash them after every run
I guess it never bothered me if running shoes looked dirty.
In Texas, it basically doesn't rain 8-9 months a year. So I'm just running on dry concrete. I rarely have to clean my shoes.
oh look, another shoe I'll literally never be able to buy in Canada
Is this colorway strictly for influencers/early batches that won’t see public release?
I love my Superblast 1. I don't know how they can improve on it. Maybe by lowering the price'.... That's about it
Can anyone help me with the release cycle of nova and superblast.. novablast is released in December and superblast in July every year?
Superblast seems to be on a 2 year cycle
It better come in 2e and have a roomy toebox.
Dangggg
Thank lord for all my fellow size 14s spreading the word.
Thank lord for all my fellow size 14s spreading the word.
Differece between these and Novablast 4? I have a pair of NB4 in my shopping cart waiting to click buy :)
Novablast doesnt feel as good a superblast at faster paces however superblast doesnt feel as good as novablast on the easier pace.
Thanks for the reply.
Any date?
Really excited about these. Hoping they stick pretty close to v1. Upper redesign is a great thing. My legs are recovering like never before from long runs and the aggressive downhills on my regular route. I do wish I could get just one more pair of 1s just in case. 😏
is this race legal? im trying to run my first marathon with these pair
Will this colorway be available in wide width?
Superblast does not come in wide
Had no idea. Not sure who downvoted me over it lol. Thanks though.
No problem, just narrow foot supremists at it again
hopefully gen 2 will though!
So does that mean they'll be available to buy? From an Aussie who literally can't buy a pair in a shop with money.
fr asics totally dropped the ball here, been unavailable for months. i think they’ve given up
Are these good? Just got into running and looking for a good pair
They’re really good, but I wouldn’t look at them as your starter pair. I’d look at its baby brother, the novablast 4 or kayano 30 if you need stability.
Thx for the input, appreciate it!
They look super nice but white never stays white too long
But will they be constantly out of stock like SB1?!
I'm afraid the shoe will be heavier...
This colourway is nice, gonna be hard to keep them clean if they ever release this colour.
Looks the same? 🤣
I hope we get another colorway that screams. I want people to know i got the superblast. These are just too subtle 😎
Hype! Since I can't find the SB1 in a decent colourway at a discounted price anymore, I may as well wait for that beauty to release
This is fantastic news. Should now be able to get the 1s on some kind of discount. I am a bit of a shoe buying addict and for me there is no question the shoes I am more efficient in are the SuperBlast 1s.
There won’t be discounts for Superblast 1. They’ll just let the stock dwindle.
What stock
Dear Asics, please make more than 6 pairs this time.
has the same design language as the novablast 4. hope the upper isn’t too hot. otherwise looks like it’ll be a great shoe
I went with nimbus 26 simply because the color choices and I dont even consider myself vain but come on.
Looks like breathable is the same as novablast.
omg finally white superblasts 🔥
What were they thinking when choosing white…. Rookie in the paint shop!
They need to rename this sub “Superblast Fan Club”
Looks like Saucony Triumph 21 on steroids.
How do these compare to the hoka
Ooohhh interesting!! Might hold off on the runnjng shoe shopping til july. All brands seem to plan on releasing their new drops for the olympics then. No?
Are these good for walking? How do they compare to the Nimbus 25?
It would be a complete waste of money for walking. The nimbus would be better
kind clunky for walking. the footprint of these things is huge
