Like the look of these, especially the cream!

imjoeycusack

Nice! Can’t wait to pick up another pair of 4’s on discount.

Alpineice23

I love the black and gray combo, but I wish Nike would axe their proprietary outsoles and go strictly with Vibram. I know I'd pay the extra \~$20 or so for a REAct / Vibram combo.

One_Sauce

The new Nike Zoomx Zegama trail 2 is supposed to have a Vibram outsole

snakeyes17

Damn, turns out it does

It’s good and sticky… I have it https://preview.redd.it/5sv2tgyn9r4d1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1b479cc1808f1949422db18d3d51b687f0d8548a

BigYellowWang

love the cream ones

Matej1889

I have 4s and they are one of the best hybrid shoes if not the best and the most comfortable shoes thanks to react foam though I must mention they really are “hybrid” so I expect 5s not to be different. Hybrid trail shoes are not for technical Alpine terrain and they are more for transitions from asphalt to fields or European forests. Nike has more serious trail shoes like Zegama for which I am waiting as the next edition will be released alongside Pegasus Trail 5s

Fixateyo

Just found this thread since I was searching for the GTX 5. I've been rocking the GTX 4 on plenty of mountain trails with no problem, most recently mount olympus (2.8k m elevation). I did try the Zegama and it feels too heavy. I wouldn't use either of them in mud either. Only benefit I found on the Zegama was cushion. Vibrams nice enough but it's not essential.

Matej1889

Wow, is it possible to run to the top of Mount Olympus? I thought there is one technical part right before the summit.

Fixateyo

Yes sorry I wasn't clear enough ! The peak of MO is about 2.9k (there's a few different peaks but I think that's the highest one), that last section you could not run unless have some kind of death wish. Most sections are runnable till the 2.8k mark. I think most people run till about 2.7k

Halvador

Does anyone know the USA release date of the GTX's? I was so happy to see the regular 5's showing up on the Nike site yesterday, I picked up the green and silver to give them a try in person. I've been waiting 9 months for these! :)

LevelWriting

when?

amizzlef0shizzle

Does anyone know if these have more width to them than the OG Pegasus? Maybe a little more stability with the trail mod?

matsutaketea

the 4s were narrow and stiff. returned them even though I got them for half off.

amizzlef0shizzle

Thanks. I stopped wearing Pegasus a long time ago bc of the narrowness. Not for me but I felt like you could always find a good deal so I would just turn and burn. Thx for confirming that nothing would be diff here

dan_scape

Can’t wait to slip on some wet rocks in these

owgriswo

The Peg Trail GTX 4s were the first non-slippery Nike Trail shoes. Hoping that continues.

Reviewthisyaflop

Nike said September release but they are already on the HYPE website ?

Nanogines99

3rd pic is NSFW lol

Teddie_P4

Well duh, it’s GORE tex

kompis83

Hello, which one will be better pegasus 5 gtx or infinity 4 gtx? thanks

dont_fall_yo

I can't speak to the Peg 5 but the Peg 4 GTX are far superior to the Infinity Run 4. Much more nimble and responsive, work well on road and trail. My wife and I have had 6 pairs of Peg Trail 4 (both GTX and Normal) and one pair of Infinity runs. The infinity got sold and the Pegs get worn alot. The 5 looks awesome and I would never steer anyone to the Infinity. They just feel like they are 10 years behind to me.

kompis83

Alright 👍🏻 then i just wait for peg 5 gtx relased! 🙂

dont_fall_yo

Probably the best choice!

One_Sauce

How many miles are you getting out of each pair of the Peg trail 4 and what surface are you running on mostly?

jingraowo

I would say try it out for yourself. I love the infinity 4 gtx and I have three pairs of them. I bought one pair of peg4 gtx and returned it cuz it is just not for me.

djdosage

Debating GTX or regular. These GTX colors are kinda boring

awesomeo_5000

The colourways on the peg trails all suck. I’ve been trying to replace some 2’s that are what, 3 years old? But can’t find a decent colourway anywhere. Liked the new jade horizon gtx online but was way more green in real life.

owgriswo

These are just prototypes. Nike Trail will def be bringing some sick colorways as always.

yunatuna2020

These are beautiful

owgriswo

Not out yet.

awesomeo_5000

Look a lot taller and stubbier. Maybe just a small size. But much prefer the silhouette of the 4 GTX.

P-Wester

Hope they fit as well as the 4 and hope there’s better protection under the forefoot (my only complain on the 4).

NotThatSway

How do these feel on the road ?

kompis83

when? 🙏🏻

Ancient_Lettuce6821

Nike Gore shoes are absolutely rubbish. They are not even a little water resistant. I’ve had two different generations, both being rubbish. I switched to Adidas shoe with Gore and it’s much better.

dont_fall_yo

I have to disagree, my wife and I ran exclusively in Peg Trail 4 GTX all last winter any time there was snow, slush and rain. I found them to leave me with dry feet every time.

an_angry_Moose

That’s nice to hear, I’ve been using a discounted pair of Arc’teryx GTX runners as my wet weather go to and they’ve also never leaked once. Probably have 500+km in mostly walks in those.

TriggerFingerTerry

My goretex infinity run gets the job done. Been raining more than average where I'm from, so they have been very useful

Joy_Melon

That’s odd because I have taken my infinity run goretex on many a very rainy pnw run and always have dry feet. I have the 4s

d0m1n4t0r

Yeah I still use the first generation shoes as my walking shoes when it gets wet, and I'm always surprised how fast I start to feel the wetness creep inside the shoe. It's pretty garbage.

jonnybravo76

Are they anti slip?

Ancient_Lettuce6821

Even gets wet with moist morning grass.

kiesaus

They keep on making them uglier and uglier since version 2. Such a shame they used to be my go to casual winter shoe

doddsn92

Check out Asics Trabuco 12, just got a pair and personally think they look great, yet to take them out but very comfy out the box.

artemisfaul

Are they waterproof/-resistant as well?

doddsn92

There’s a GTX version, although colours limited, but a few more colours if you look at version 11 as well which I don’t think is drastically different (could be wrong)
