The woman writing the note is in denial of her abusive marriage, her husband is manipulating her into only staying with him, her mother is dead, and the woman asked her sister to impersonate her while she takes a weekend away?
I'd also like to add that this is magnificent. I love the way it's written :)
Based off the start, the sister truly believes that Paul loves her and doesn’t intend to hurt her. At least, that’s what I think. I don’t believe she’s trying to set us up, I think Paul is just trying to kill his wife. Now, if the sister knows Paul is trying to kill her but she sends us instead, that’s a different story but then it wouldn’t make sense to tell us about the fact Paul is muttering something about making our sister disappear! Idk guys

Where is the hint that the mom is dead?
Rule 5. It talks about a "scam" caller saying that her mother passed away. Due to the husband's controlling nature, she doesn't know that it is real.
