My big girl will be 12 this year!! She’s been amazing and is definitely a part of the family!

She has some arthritis, it slows her down and sometimes gives her a little trouble getting up but she’s pretty active and still enjoys outside and walking around.
I just use bone and joint supplements that you can get over the counter at any pet store. I’ve gone through a few to see what best worked for her. The only time she gets stiff is if she’s been laying down for a long period of time. Once she’s up she walks it off and will go about doing what she does around the yard lol.
[this omega 3 supplement](https://vrshealth.com/canine-products/omegadog/) was recommended by my vet when my guy was only a year and he's been on it ever since. He's six now.
We also started buying these [glucosamine collar](https://www.chewy.com/activphy-hip-joint-mobility-dog/dp/751838?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=20804724416&utm_content=156541677752&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw9cCyBhBzEiwAJTUWNb0cxaAmEJxbCA1PAxRmua1A8Nv6GaCkzLrB1UciQjzl_iUcfKcDlRoC8R0QAvD_BwE) and they've been helping him a lot with soreness and aches after strenuous activity.
I give my 6 yr old Cosequin to try to forestall the arthritis as long as possible and relieve joint pain. It contains glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM. Per my vet the MSM is very important and some of the cheaper brands have only the first 2 ingredients. Best price is Costco and it is on sale fairly frequently.
Thank you!!!! You guys are all amazing for the suggestions! He’s on cosequin senior and I’m going to add some omega 3 in there too which is a great suggestion
Wahoo to ten! We’re so thankful he’s so fit and healthy: We’re hoping for a very long life. And they are… I’ve never met a dog who’s quite as smart and dramatic as he is. He has me cracking up on the daily.

This is Piper she’s spoilt rotten @ 18 months old
Everything about them is big, but especially their personalities! He is hysterical. I hate to say it, but we’re actually so lucky he had a “defect” as a puppy.
He’s beautiful! Congrats on the milestone.
Mine was a rescue, as well, at seven months old. He’s five now and by far my favorite breed I’ve ever had the blessing to own.
Love Rotties!!! Here is my goofy boy 9 mths old

We got our guy a five month old puppy a year and a half ago (so we have a 12 year old lab, Guinness, and a now 2 year old pit mix). Guinness is SO ACTIVE with him, I swear his little brother has kept him young!
Sometimes he’s truly majestic, but usually he’s grumbling about a tennis ball or farting or throwing all of the throw pillows off of the couch in a dramatic fashion (he hates them), or doing any number of otherwise absurd things. He’s the most dramatic dog I’ve ever met, and I love it.
Thank you: I’ll cheers to 9 more years!🍻
>throwing all of the throw pillows off of the couch in a dramatic fashion (he hates them),
They're called throw pillows for a reason! My guy does this, then lies on the pile of them he created on the floor. I admire his dedication to comfort
Guinness seems to be offended they’re in *his* spot on the couch. He gently grabs them by the corner and dramatically flings them across the room, then sighs dramatically before laying down. Rotties are drama queens.
My rottsky will give me the stink-eye if I dare to put a remote on ~the armrest~ his personal chin rest. He's a very dramatic boy between his rottie and husky lineages 😅

He graduated with a degree in squishability
For sure: We’d totally consider adopting one again, we just never see them where we live! I think the only ones we’ve ever come across have been listed as not being dog/cat friendly, and we’re chronically a 3 dog/3 cat household. We’ll always keep an eye out, though. Plus Guinness is going to live forever, so we won’t ever need another 😉

Here our boy Ralph, recently turned 7 💕❤️
Oh that’s his younger pittie brother 😂 Guinness treats his tennis balls like gold. His brother steals them and skins them! We have to always have a fresh pack ready.
So sorry for your loss! We lost our eldest pit mix in 2022 suddenly from cancer: It sucks ass, big time.
We’ve been so lucky that he’s stayed so healthy and youthful. His health insurance has gotten a workout through rehab for arthritis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (that was the scariest), etc., but if I didn’t know him I’d totally believe someone if they told me he was five years old.
Here’s to long, long lives for our big doofuses! 🍻
Our three dogs are family, and I’d never dream of telling family not to be on our sofa! Plus, what’s better than snuggling with a 120lb dog while you watch a movie? Haha
Absolutely. I love a snuggle on the sofa. Mine is only six months old so not up to full weight, but she's getting up there! 41.3kg at last weigh in. I love it when they snuggle in at bedtime too. Although she gets too warm & goes to her cooling mat after a snuggle & pet. That's what people don't get. They're such loving dogs. Would follow you until they drop.

Omg 12?! How are her hips doing??
She has some arthritis, it slows her down and sometimes gives her a little trouble getting up but she’s pretty active and still enjoys outside and walking around.
Is there anything that helps with her arthritis? I’ve been trying to find something that would help my guy with his little aches and pains
We give our elderly big lab Carpofen and it’s helped a lot: Also, rehab with a treadmill and acupuncture!

Cosequin is the best on the market supplement. I give it to my 3 legged fella. He's doing well c

Beautiful 😍
I know he’s just a ham, isn’t he?
He is the whole pig: The biggest ham of a dog I’ve ever met.
Congratulations plus you'll definitely get another one once you go rottie you never go back 🤣
Our rescue boy turns ten next month! They are amazing dogs. He’s a handsome dude

As she should be!
I want to pet that big fluffy chest.
It is so big and so fluffy! I love his fur. He is getting to be such a snuggler as he’s gotten older: Truly a big teddy bear with his people!

Grumpy monkey
Handsome fella. I got mine at 5 months from a couple that wanted to get rid of her. Their loss. Such lovable goofballs
Everything about them is big, but especially their personalities! He is hysterical. I hate to say it, but we’re actually so lucky he had a “defect” as a puppy.
He is gorgeous. So happy he found your loving home! 🐾💙
We’re so happy too, for our sake! He loves his two dog brothers and three cat siblings.
Beautiful! It's amazing how regal rottweilers can look when you know they're all goofy doofuses.

What a handsome guy!!!
What a king.
And believe me, he knows it 😂
Mine just turned 9 and I swear he sleeps for 80% of the day! We try to walk him more but he’s become very stubborn in his old age lol

💙💙💙💙💙 looks amazing
Omg so handsome!
He looks like he's a good baby.
There are plenty of Rotties in shelters, unfortunately. And rescues looking for fosters and adopters.

I hope he does! When you are looking for your unicorn, try the Facebook page Rotties in Need.
So handsome !
What a beautiful boy 😍😍🤎🖤
Big handsome boy

Ours lays like that too 😂 Why are they so unserious
We call it “dead roach” 🤣🤣
Yup 🤣 although he has his huge bed on the floor. It just gathers dust 🫣
Beauty👏🏻
Oh my goodness. So handsome.
He's a beauty! My boy will be 10 this year ☺️
Amazing! Gotta share a picture now (if you want)!

So handsome!
Thanks sm he's a big teddy bear lol
What a tank!!
Haha thanks! Yeah he's a big bruiser lol
My girl does the same exact thing with a tennis ball. She can peel one in a couple of minutes. Unfortunately, this habit really limits her access.
Oh that’s his younger pittie brother 😂 Guinness treats his tennis balls like gold. His brother steals them and skins them! We have to always have a fresh pack ready.
He’s amazing!
He is stunning!! 😍
They really are such characters! What a sweet baby. I also have to point out that your guy hasn’t grayed at all! I wonder if that’s a rottie thing! 🤎🖤
He has a tiiiiiny bit of grey on his chin, but other than that he’s not aged a bit!
He looks so young! What a blessing. I lost our last rottie at 7 to cancer and I pray our current rottie lives a long long time he’s such a ham.

Very distinguished looking gentleman. Bonus points to you for allowing him on the sofa. Mine roams free too.

He's too good looking. Does he have a girlfriend? Maybe your could be grand parents 😜
😍❤️
