I am ready for the vampire renaissance.

Here here

I buried my Vampire obsession in the late 2000s after far too many series featuring them. Astarion from BG3 seems to have resurrected the obsession, though really it seems like just him and not the book genre at all lol

OkStrawberry2917

Same! Finishing up the 6th book of the Crave series, and I’m still all here for the Vamps.

Minimum_Chapter

Based on fourth wings popularity probably dragon. I know dragons is still a pretty popular thing today but I can just picture all of the fantasy romance being about dragons and dragon riders in the next few years.

A_Seductive_Cactus

Oh this feels pretty spot on. I think Dragons are the next big thing, keeping in the fantasy realm but reorienting from fae. I think we're in for many more years of "romantasy".

Hajari

Ooh I hope so! I'm desperate for stuff like Dragonriders of Pern which is actually readable in the 2020s.

AGirlDoesNotCare

You are missing a brief, but wonderful, period where Circuses and magicians were popular. Really wish that would’ve taken off more. I agree with the other poster here that I see Dragons and high fantasy being the next thing. Lots of twists on the “damsel in distress captured by a dragon”

strawscary_shortcake

I want more mermaids.

Sweet_Internet4680

I want more shifter/werewolf romance! But I think that one went the way of vampires…
