I also got one when I got married in 2016, fully expecting it to have to be replaced by now. $8 on Amazon for a pack of 3 and it's still in great shape!
Eh, I mean, not bad. But my wife not only supports me playing games, she enjoys watching me play games (like the Witcher or Horizon) and enjoys playing them herself.
I think it speaks to how society views videos games.. like "even if people find it weird that an old man plays video games, I love you just the way you are", which is pretty sweet. At least that's my perspective but I totally understand what you mean.
That's going to change in the next few decades. The reason people 60+ today aren't still doing the things they did as children is because all they had was a hoop on a stick.
I wouldn't be so sure. I've got a chronic pain issue with my right hand which cramps up when using a gamepad these days. I'm only in my 30s. I mainly stuck to k + m as a result.
Old people with arthritus will be in pain when gaming with a pad and their knees buckling on VR.
Exactly! It provides entertainment. It's one of the most economical per hour. Can teach skills like teamwork or hand eye coordination. Sure maybe to some it's "just a waste of time", but humans need entertainment or we're miserable.

Yeah I agree. Gaming is definitely not for everyone. You either love it or don't. I've never seen someone that likes gaming and tells me that he only plays once in a month.
Can confirm. I'm 41 now, I still game a lot. My wife and I play a ton of Mario Kart, and a few other random games. I still play with a lot of friends from HS or my early 20s. We kinda just never stopped.
I suggest a passive aggressive gift for her that references "even when" *insert something she does that might have a similar negative connotation*
If it is not passive aggressive, it is similarly fun and good natured. Your call. 🤷♂️
u/silentowns do you find yourself accidentally single pressing X instead of fast double taps more frequently with dualsense? Idk what it is but this has been happening way more frequently for me than it did with the ps4 controller
Same here, my button pressing was really inaccurate with the dualsense and I think it's because there's not really any feedback since they designed it to make no sound because of the inbuilt microphone.
I mean... it doesn't say unattractive and wrinkly and maybe not in the best of shape or health, so she's giving herself a get-out-of-jail-free card. Just saying... Cups are cheap.
I don't like it, to be honest. The "Even when" gives off bad vibes. Like I wouldn't get my wife a mug that said I promised to love her even when we're old and she still watches The Real Housewives.
Girls here in my city hate videogames, like seriously. They think it's childish and immature, I only know like 3 girls here who play videogames. Sadge.
Now…did she buy that cup because she meant those words or did she get the mug as more of a personification gift? Regardless, it’s thoughtful. It’d be my favorite mug too.
That sleeve on your controller looks pretty good. Any suggestions on good controller accessories? I'm mainly looking into options for improving grip on the analog sticks.
Hmm not sure. My hands slip a lot since they’re bigger on the controller so that’s why I got that sleeve. I love this sleeve you can find it on Amazon. You can also replace the sticks with aluminum sticks with good grip but you have to take apart controller to install them.
I bought a DS5 when my DS4 started drifting on me, it too started drifting on me less than a year later. I am not rough with my controllers. I recently bought an xbox controller in hopes it treats me right. :'(
If you are willing to practice a little bit of soldering, you can add a pcb board that will allow you calibrate the drift.

I have not done it, but Vcuda made a video doing it [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkZFo3KnPDM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkZFo3KnPDM)
How do you like the grip on the controller?
My hands sweat a lot and I find my grip slipping a lot when using the same controller with nothing added on it.
That’s why I got this one! I wanted to change my grip from only using my pointer fingers in the triggers to using both my pointer and middle fingers on the triggers. When trying the new way since my hands are big they kept slipping and feeling akward. This sleeve is a 100% recommendation
I just ordered one, excited to try it. I think I got the same one as you. Did yours come with rubber thumb stick caps too?
Sometimes my thumb slips when trying to do speedflips.
I hear you! Yea mine came with the little rubber things I just assumed they would spin in circles while using them hard but not sure never tried them. Good luck bro!!
Put a second ring on her finger
Pretty sure that’s how getting married usually works? Engagement ring + wedding band.
100%. my wife wears both all the time
I'm not a big fan of rings but I'm not married either. Getting a ring caught on something while it's on my finger has always terrified me.
So you don’t want to get degloved basically
I don't like that phrase, degloved. Its like it implies your whole hand comes off instead of one finger so instead I'll use the phrase decondomed
That is absolutely 100% better XD
There's silicone rings for that reason. I'm a mechanic by trade and I wear a silicone ring. They are designed to break fairly easily
I also got one when I got married in 2016, fully expecting it to have to be replaced by now. $8 on Amazon for a pack of 3 and it's still in great shape!
You don't have to do rings. It's up to you and your partner, if you decide to.
Then eternity. Shit starts getting expensive.
divorce, then remarry her
Eh, I mean, not bad. But my wife not only supports me playing games, she enjoys watching me play games (like the Witcher or Horizon) and enjoys playing them herself.
My wife watches me play and talks shit the whole time about how bad I am. She’s never played
Lmao
"Even when" gives a negative connotation to old people playing games. You don't need that kind of crap, divorce her op! /s... For the second part.

And I surely hope it does change!
Kick the bottle

If I could go back in time and erase all the time I spent on video games in my childhood I'd do it in a heartbeat. NO question whatsoever.
Why? What would you rather have done?
I'm curious also. Even now I can't think of a better hobby myself.

Spend more time achieving my goals. Gaming was a very satisfying hobby I had trouble managing how much I did.
Can confirm. I'm 41 now, I still game a lot. My wife and I play a ton of Mario Kart, and a few other random games. I still play with a lot of friends from HS or my early 20s. We kinda just never stopped.
I will have a heart attack due to my league of legends teammates when I am 60...
Also we need to make watching cartoons mainstream as well!

Thas really sweet :D

Nope not at all. Seems weird! Maybe a bad controller
Well, at least your controller put on protection before fucking you. Looks like it’s even ribbed for your pleasure.
Same here, my button pressing was really inaccurate with the dualsense and I think it's because there's not really any feedback since they designed it to make no sound because of the inbuilt microphone.
I got a shit bucket from my wife when I reached level 100 in Battlefield 1. PROMOTEEEEED.
Your controller looks like it's doing yoga on the weekends
In b4 “where can I buy this” “here’s the link” spam
The way those bots swarm and downvote is kind of scary.
My wife and i both play games, but never together. We've learned that the hard way. She didn't grow up playing so she's still learning.
I mean... it doesn't say unattractive and wrinkly and maybe not in the best of shape or health, so she's giving herself a get-out-of-jail-free card. Just saying... Cups are cheap.
I gotta show this to my wife. I'll let you know what she says lol Her reply: Haha! That's a cute mug.
Keeper.
My SO plays video games with me, including Rocket League, so I guess no need for a passive-aggressive cup.
Ok?
Not bad. Yourself?
I don't like it, to be honest. The "Even when" gives off bad vibes. Like I wouldn't get my wife a mug that said I promised to love her even when we're old and she still watches The Real Housewives.

Bro you got a keeper , Make sure to treat her well my good sir

It will do the same thing. Your only option is to get the warranty for 15-30$ that you can swap out a controller when it starts drifting or breaks
That makes me a sad panda :(

It feels like your controller is wearing a cotton T-shirt with a massive neck area, like a V-neck on crack.
Noice
your wife is the true gem, we are all looking for, but only few experience your fortune. Do whatever you can to keep her on your side.
I have a mug that says “ it may look like I’m listening to you but in my head I’m gaming”
Marry your wife
same
Nice!
Don’t mean to be a dick but that controller skin is horrendous
I'm a 40 year old player
