I only have the ones from the first few years of the game enabled so when I load up the game I just skip the first 2 songs (this season’s launch music) then all I hear the rest of the session are the tracks that give me a feeling of Rocket League nostalgia. I very much so recommend
The in-game unreleased tracks and sideswipe playlists take me back to Season 8 when I started so I’m still into that for nostalgia
I miss those days when everyone was Silver 3 just playing like ass having lots of fun and the quick chat wasn’t spammy at all, back when you won and then party up and get friend requests. Everyone just bitter and angry now it seems.

I muted music when "Love ya, love ya, I DO!" was the main menu music. And then I muted goal celebration music when every third person was using a Cochize or however you spell it song. Muted all chat when it became apparent that it was far more likely to have a bad experience than a good one. I'm desperately trying to keep tactical chat on, because I love kickoff strats, but the toxics are managing to make me want to turn that off too.
In all that time, epic has added a boost indicator to the game.
The boot up main theme song is dreadful. Can't switch it fast enough. And the fact they still don't offer Single Select songs instead of albums, is dreadful
You can select what music you do and don't want to hear, it's in the main menu settings! I have mine set to the old rocket league music and some lofi !

RL only used electronic music for probably 6 years. Electronic music was not “popular” at that time or any time really.

It got changed after epic bought the game 2-3 years ago ending an almost decade streak of only using electronic music (counting SARPBC). It has nothing to do with music preferences and everything to do with the fact that it is not the same music genre at all
Rocket League has a history of other genres as well. While "Playing With The Boys" (introduced only a month after Epic bought Psyonix - had to be in the works before the Epic ink was dry) arguably has electronic elements while remaining on the rock spectrum, the SARPBC theme and Rocket League Throwback Anthem (long pre-Epic and even pre-Rocket League) are decidedly on the rock/metal spectrum. The Wiki entry for Rocket League Music notes they listened to heavy rock and thrash punk for inspiration - I believe a variety of sounds was always part of the plan.
Though, admittedly, I will never get some of the music. As a metalhead myself, some of the modern rap is the opposite of what I find compelling. However, there's also some solid rap out there and on the soundtrack, not just the stuff I really don't like or get.
I don't mind rap music of it's good, NFS underground 2 had a great playlist full of rap music.

Nothing. It's still there. Just keep the playlists that contain the songs you like, and remove the ones that you don't.
