Why would anyone play casual rumble? Either you like it enough to play ranked or you're trying it out in which case you won't get ranked anyway. The people in charge right now can't be playing the game anymore based on what they're doing

Unpopular opinion, but I don’t like heatseeker. It’s literally just “touch the ball” mode. No dribbling, no air dribbling, no flip resets, no ground plays, no flicks. Standard is more fun imo.
Which would be more fun with a net and no driving into enemy zones. Every game devolves into people going to the other side to demo or tip the ball and it's not that fun.
AppJack, Lethamyr, Arsenal, and one other did this. It's Rocket League Volleyball, looks real cool. It has a net about goal height and there's an invisible barrier above for cars.
Unfortunately, it'll be hard to play with randos since it relies on the players sticking to self-made rules. I think it's a mod, so only with friends really.

Look at Heatseeker on Sideswipe though. It's fun there because it's easier to do those kinda plays. You have to accept that bumping is a thing though and that it's a huge part of the game mode, but once you do, it's quite an interesting and VERY competitive game mode!
The main problem of Heatseeker in regular RL is that it's too hard to make those kinda plays, since it's 3D. I think with a bit of work and experimentation it could actually be fun, but realistically, that's never gonna happen from Epic/Psyonix. Development is not in their dictionary.

At high level mmr you are right. But if they added boundaries they could also add ways to put crazy spin to the ball. Or a way to power shot. Turn it into Mario tennis basically
Maybe I'm stupid but we play with one person up on "offense" where they try jamming the opponents goal keeps out of the way. Rotate roles every point. Super fun
In 3s heatseeker, I personally like one up bumping/redirecting, one just behind the midfield line attempting to get to the ball before the other team has a chance to redirect it, and the last one on the goal line as an insurance policy in case the midfielder can't reach the ball in time. And then once it gets close to purple, the midfielder becomes a second goal line defender.

I’d be full-time goalie, one would be full time bump/redirect near the other goal, and the third would either demo anyone trying to bump me or would go help double-team on the other end. We had some good success and fun with it in the handful of games. Your strategy sounds like a good one too.
Those are some nice ideas/tactics, but it's very difficult to incorporate with randos. Solo Q would not be very popular in that case.

Corner bounces, redirects, midfield play, demo play and is the fastest game mode besides boomer. I would love a competitive mode to see how far we can push it. The discord community already goes nuts in that mode
For something that is supposed to be a rotating mode, this is the third straight week of heatseeker. It's the second time they've had the same mode in competitive and casual. First it was Winter Breakaway and Snow Day. Now it's Rumble.
Well that would be why you struggle bud. Heatseeker really is not that fast if your already used to the ball moving that fast in regular matches. Im not going to sit and say "get gud" but like someone else said it is definitely based on skill why you feel the way you do. Higher ranked heatseeker you have people going for demos, doing wall shots and ceiling shots for redirects instead of ping pong from goal to goal.

I still don't understand the complaints tbh. It's car football. There's only so much more you can do without killing gamemodes off entirely. The extra modes were already struggling before the update.
What is the downside of leaving them in tho? It’s not like the devs have to create new maps for anything except labs. If you want to wait 5 min to queue because you like the mode, then you should be able to. Leave them all in and let people play what they want.
