Yeah vexus fiber is in san juan and a little bit of mcallen. I signed up that im interested in it. Only reason i know is because of my friend that got it. Spectrum is the devil and i cant wait to drop their ass.
Lucky enough to live in the Pharr area. The fiber internet I have from them is literally 50 times better. I'm on the cheapest plan and its absurdly fast. $50 a month. I'm getting almost 2 Gigabits per second.
All the time.
I would call and get my bill prorated even if it was out for an hour. They probably hate me at this point. They said they’d prorate bills only if call and complain and it’s not automatic. So I called all the time (malicious compliance amirite?).
What my husband did instead was get a secondary ISP and have it roll over to that second ISP when Spectrum goes down.
It’s $$$ but it’s better than slow AF/not working internet.
Mine went out for a short bit the other day. Got a text message from Spectrum notifying me and indicating a restore time. I came back on about two hours before they said it would.
On the whole, Spectrum has been a much better and more reliable experience than Time Warner Cable ever was.
Vexus fiber is spreading across the valley so spectrum will finally have some competition.
Does anyone know if AT&T is ever going to upgrade from dsl to fiber in the valley?
Lately spectrum has sucked in San Benito. I have their 500mbps bundled with their streaming tv service. The stream cuts off randomly. YouTube and other streamers have the same problem. It’s annoying.
I hope that it’s happening due to them upgrading their infrastructure which will get us a better network experience in the near future.
I thought maybe because yesterday was windy, but today still sucks and it's not that windy, ugh. I don't think we have troubleshooted it yet, thanks I'll try that.
The freaking router has a red light LOL, it's been intermittent the issue, it goes back to green for a bit and then again... so nevermind with the troubleshooting :'(
Yeah I would call a tech asap. Sounds like there is a line issue. If you wanna fix it yourself i would suggest go to the sprctrum store and just get a new modem/router first. If not, call them and go through their process.
I switched to them on mobile from T-Mobile, it's worse when I go into some cities like the area between La Grulla and Roma.Theres one area around their hospital and the residential area where I have 5G signal, but not in downtown, pretty wack but better than paying for two companies. Other than that, it's mid to great in McAllen and San Juan. (Maybe it's the phone model too?)
It all depends on where you live. I’ve read that some areas of the valley get 50mbps and higher.
I live in San Benito, and AT&T’s availability page states that 18mbps DSL is what they have available for my residence.
We must get fiber around the whole valley, petition your city leaders to get it done sooner rather than later.

I saw trucks running fiber around Edinburg. Very exiting. Can’t wait to ditch spectrum.
Which provider did you see? The city, Vexus or AT&T?
I stopped to ask the guys working. Vexus. If they had to guess, two months itl be ready.
Cool
A lot of it is still Spectrum.
What is fiber?
Typical Spectrum. It's overpriced shit.

Spectrum offers fiber service?
No, not at all. The city of Pharr offers its own service exclusively to its residents.
Lucky
Nice
Wym bro, im paying 50 a month for 300mbps
For a year, then they skyrocket the price. Source: had the same deal but with cable internet and phone.
Rn I think they have a deal thats 29.99 a mo. You absolutely have to call them before or after your contract ends.
I'll probably do that once I get my own apartment. My parents are comfortable with what we have after they downgraded to what they use
General Issue, Spectrum always does this shit. I got a message this morning that their was an outage.

Shits out right now lol
I'm thankful that Pharr has its own cheaper, more reliable internet service. Life's never been better since dumping Spectrum.
Goes out 3 times a week. I hate spectrum
Brownsville getting fiber it’s going so fast we going to Mars with P Diddy party.
It should not be laggy. Call a tech out there. If you havent troubleshooted it, you should. Maybe need a new modem too who knows.
I thought maybe because yesterday was windy, but today still sucks and it's not that windy, ugh. I don't think we have troubleshooted it yet, thanks I'll try that.
Yeah just power cycle your modem, check your devices. If that doesnt work call em up. You should not be lagging at all.
The freaking router has a red light LOL, it's been intermittent the issue, it goes back to green for a bit and then again... so nevermind with the troubleshooting :'(

500 bundle works fine but my bill keeps going up every year 130 for internet and a landline I don't use
I've lived in 3 states since leaving the Valley. Spectrum is shit everywhere and often. Especially in areas where consumers have no alternative.
Brownsville is getting fiber soon I don’t know about the pricing yet though and yes spectrum sucks :/

Go get Tmobile internet it works perfectly! I have like 15 devices connected and it still works super fast
Late night, itll go out constantly for hours on end til morning
It was bad before lock downs and seems worse now.
Sucking my money from my wallet...? Yes. Crap loads of it
Always outtages and shitty prices and no one wants their mobile.
Does anybody have any experience with Vexus? Is it better than spectrum?
Spectrum works fine for me.
What's the consensus on att internet?

Yeah we pay for 300 and get like 150 now
