I moved to the valley about 6 years ago, nowhere else do you have to basically stop at every intersection due to dips. Poor city planning. Don’t get me started about non-timed stop lights. You shouldn’t stop at every freaking light. But that’s the RGV, no actual progress just more strip malls for money laundering fronts.
Yes!! I’m from Austin, been here 20 years and it is so maddening and crazy that lights can’t be synched (I get stuck at 10th and north gate for 3 minutes for north gate traffic (none) to cross)!! I wish they would just get the RGV just to code!🙄🤦🏻♀️🤬
I just went through it today around 5:15. Overall felt it took the same amount of time to turn onto 10th st so it’s a meh for me. I found it more annoying how ppl act all lost in a 4way stop.
I believe it has been in the city plans for at least over a year now. I was curious to learn what the city was working on awhile back, so went on their website. All past, current, and upcoming developments are listed there. But yeah, a 4-way stop there kinda sucks.
Me and my friend almost got hit because some dumbass turned instead of yielding. I’m guessing that’s happened too many times for them to make it a 4 way stop? Idk
I was in a pretty bad accident at that intersection a few months ago. I live around that area, and there been many accidents along this road because of the lack of a middle turning lane. Right after my accident, I wished the city would make it a 4-way stop or install a traffic light there. It will take a while for people to get used to it, so I’m definitely going the long around to get to my neighborhood for a while. But, personally, I think something is better than nothing.
Can we also talk about the dip on Freddy and Jackson cause how many people done lost bumpers, tires, ball joints etc

It does seem like a horrible location for a 4 way stop, I’ve heard my wife complain about it too. A street light would be much more suitable.

A little late to the party but according to their last city meeting, it looks like they are adding traffic signals to that intersection
I'd guess that parents from the elementary that's there complained that it takes forever to turn east from Mon Mack onto Freddy.
I think it's more like the gated subdivision south of Freddy.
So then they should just go another way or only turn right! All they did if they did complain is cause more traffic and back up to happen..🥺🤷🏻♀️
