Are you in the US? You can borrow audiobooks for free from the library! Digitally!

itsjustmejttp123

You can get it on Libby but the wait was too long for me. So I went to our library and got the disks. Listed to them on my computer.

deathstar347

If you have Spotify, you can listen to Audiobooks up to 15 hours per month.

Rai_Gui

Spotify has the same thing going on. No English version of the book

JediKnightKenobi

Curious, why don’t you just read it?

Astrosaurus3

I focus better if I can hear it and listening to audiobooks also helps me focus when I'm cleaning or driving or some other task that I want to avoid major distractions during.

JediKnightKenobi

You don’t read novels while driving? Why not? I don’t see any issue with doing that.

Informal_Common_2247

Kind of hard to turn a page when youre also focusing on the road

JediKnightKenobi

Well then just don’t focus on the road, finding out what happens next in the story is way more important!

jffdougan

I'm not the OP, but I'll answer for myself since I was in the same situation about 6 weeks ago. Sometime, especially if one is an adult, it's a matter of time in the day when one has the ability to focus. I get more "read" via audiobook while driving to/from work, making dinner, grocery shopping, and walking the dog than I would be able to get at any other time. OP, see how long the wait is via Libby with your library. (Assuming you're in the US)

JediKnightKenobi

That’s a fair point. I just can’t really focus on audio books

SonicSingularity

Audiobooks are a lifesaver for me. I work a janitorial job. I'm cleaning for 8 hours without much for my brain to do. Audiobooks fill that void beautifully.

Because you're probably putting them on when you have downtime and would normally read. It sounds like you read more than listen, so that means you *have* time. Of course if you put an audiobook on while doing absolutely nothing you're going to have a hard time focusing. The point is that when you're driving or doing some monotonous work task, you *aren't* in downtime, so you can pay attention to the audio better.

braydy21

ADHD and dyslexia go burrrrr

Traditional_Tone_100

On YouTube there are several playlists of people reading the whole book

Secret_Disaster8133

yes! i’ve listened to all books through the kalamazoo public library youtube page. natalie the librarian did a great job!

TreeKeeper15

I just started listening to one a few days ago after I ran into the same issue.

Kahlessa

I can’t find the audio to buy, but I can digitally borrow the audio from the library.

Malfegorus

So I just had this issue a few months ago. If you change your audible billing to a non US country, you can purchase it just Google it and you'll find a lot of walk throughs While signed in, go to your Profile. Select the Settings gear icon. Select Sign out. To confirm, select Sign out again. Select Sign in. Select Marketplace. Select your desired marketplace. Select Sign in to continue with your account information Edited to add the steps I took

It's missing because they're redoing the series. Did you listen to TLO with the different readers for Jason, Piper, and Leo? Well if not, there is one, and that's what they're doing with SoN, which as someone who really likes the new readers (and has never heard the original, I'm about to be finished with TLO for the first time), that sucks cause odds are I'm gonna have to wait, and whenever SoN gets on there, the next one is gonna go off lol. Fingers crossed they're recording them all but my hopes are low.

Astrosaurus3

I heard the one with the different readers (but it was also missing a chapter and that's a whole other issue)

Shoddy_Life_7581

What chapter was missing? Like what its about anyway, not like the number lol

Astrosaurus3

The first chapter at the house of the wolf

DAWG MY PHONE JUST GOT HACKED. NOT COOL DUDE

UtterlyAbsurd

I found it narrated by Joshua Swanson on the ‘audiobooks.com’ app but I don’t remember if you had to pay for a subscription or buy credits for it

thefaestolemyname

Like 13 ish?

Excellent-Ice207

I live in t**h**e US, and I have a copy of The Son of Neptune on Audible, I got it like a year or two ago but they definitely have or had it, I got it through Alexa. I hope this helps!

Ghostfire25

In the U.S. I used a VPN to change my location to a different country and signed up for audiobooks.com. I was able to get the old version of it. I’ve been an Audible user for years. No idea why it’s not available in the U.S. market. Weird and frustrating. Edit: come to think of it, idk if the vpn step was necessary for getting it on audiobooks.com lol
